"My problem is figured out, and I am very happy with the result"
"I bought my Leica Camera from 42nd Street Photo since they offered the best prices.
I ordered via phone and received my order shortly without no problems."
"I had a lens problem on a vacation with no store in the area to replace. I was looking for a new lens but the price of a lens and camera was a few hundred more. So with some online looking 42 st. was the best price and was sent out in a day or two. had no problem with all. And looking for a longer lens now. And will use 42 st again."
"Good price and quick shipping. Camera arrived just as described and in good condition. Nothing more I could ask for."
"1) I love that I can talk to someone on the phone 2) He was quick, to the point, knowledgeable and courteous. I was buying a new camera and gave me a heads up that these cameras needs a lot of battery power and I should buy a second battery. He was right. "
"Ordered a replacement lens for my Canon DSLR and it arrived quickly and just as described. I had shopped around for the best price for this particular lens, and 42nd Street Photo had the best price by a lot! Very pleased with the product and service from the company."
"Bought a Tameron lens from these folks less than a year ago, now having problems called Tameron since they have a six year warranty on their lenses, they said has to buy lens from authorized dealer which they are not. When they looked up the serial number for the lens at first couldn't find it then searched world wide and determined the lens was not suppose to be sold on the U.S. market, this voided the warranty too. 42nd street offered a whopping 30 day warranty. If you buy anything from these people I would call the manufacturer and verify the product was made for the U.S. market. Apparently they are buying stuff over seas and selling it here. Won't buying anything else from them."
"My husband purchased a Nikon camera for me from 42nd Street Photo in March 2014. He specified that he wanted a USA model, they assured him that he was getting a USA model, and he went forward with the camera purchase.
Fast forward to May 2016. I dropped the camera and it suffered impact damage. Camera was sent to Nikon, and they won't repair the camera because it is gray market, which was news to my husband and I.
I called 42nd St twice to discuss the issue. The first representative just kept referring back to the 3-year warranty and would not even talk about the fact that the camera was gray market. He kept saying that he could not know what went on in the discussion with the rep that my husband talked to two years ago. He hung up on me. I called back and spoke with another person, who basically gave the same spiel - that the camera was sold with a (non-Nikon) USA warranty. He absolutely would not address the issue that they sold my husband a gray market BODY after he specifically stated that he wanted the USA version of the camera. This rep actually told me that the company that the extended warranty was with would repair the damaged camera, even though the issue was not a warranty problem. I called the warranty company to find out if this was actually true (that they would repair a gray market camera that was not a warranty repair) if you had the extended warranty with them. The person that I talked with at the warranty company was very helpful and informative. And, as I expected, the answer is - no, they will not service a camera that is not in for warranty repair.
So - to sum it up: 42nd St sold my husband a gray market camera after he specifically told them that he wanted a USA camera. They will not do anything in terms of customer service to resolve the problem and go as far as not even dealing with the issue, just diverting discussion to the warranty. They then misrepresent the warranty company stating that the customer can get a non-USA damaged camera repaired if you have a warranty with them (specifically - that you can get non-warranty service on a damaged camera) - you cannot.
After doing a little bit of research, I found that 42nd St Photo is NOT AN AUTHORIZED NIKON DEALER! Here is Nikon's list of authorized dealers:

I wonder how many people who give 42nd Street Photo a good rating have actually been swindled and don't even know it. "
"I ordered in line and followed up with a call and questions. They were very helpful and I am very satisfied with the price and care taken in my purchase. "
"Problem was resolved to my satisfaction. I was not asked to write this review."
"Easy to use and all the prosumer features available. I can't think of a situation that I felt I was lacking in control. I use the swivel rear viewfinder a lot, makes unusual angle shots easy.
I got a great deal at 43nd St photo, and I really shopped around for this camera. Great price, fast delivery and a friendly voice on the phone. Excellent."
"What you expect is the product you saw online, in the condition as it was described, packaged & delivered well and on time. And I got ALL that! Doesn't sound so impressive, but it is indeed rare these days! Very happy with product & service."
"I bought this Canon G16 camera for travel and work ... has performed as expected. 42nd St was great about getting shipped, price was perfect and now follow-up a year later. [and promise of a free card!]
What else could you ask for? Thanks 42nd st photo"

"Not only are the prices and selection superb, but so is the customer service. When I've had questions, either about an order or something to do with my camera, I've always gotten someone on the line who's knowledgable and clear. Recently when I had to use a warranty, 42PHOTO was able to provide my purchase receipt right away. They're fantastic, and really go out of their way to make sure I have a good experience. "
