"These people are a rip-off, just like everyone else says. I ordered a Canon PowerShot A650 IS. 3 Days later I get a phone call to call them about my credit card. When I called they really wanted to sell me extras for the camera. When I said I already had batteries and memory cards I immediately received an e-mail from them saying the camera was backordered for 3 weeks. I should have known the price was too good to be true. I've checked their website a week after I ordered and it still shows in stock. That must only be for people that want to pay $100 extra for unnecessary crap. I understand this same company does business under several other names such as Techondigital and Digitalnerds. This is the second time I've tried to purchase this camera but I don't seem to be able to find any place that is honest. The other place was Techondigital. Same deal there. I wish I had known about this website before I ordered. How frustrating!
It's is now 3 weeks later and I just got an e-mail from them that said the camera will be back ordered for another 5-6 weeks. Of course I've canceled the order now - just wanted to see what they would do. They are selling it on their website for $40 less than I paid for it. I feel sorry for the new people they continue to scam. I've tried to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau but they can't seem to find the business. Jeeze."

"Same scam as everybody else has reported. I am amazed that they are on some very well thought of shopping network sites. Live and learn, If the price is too low there is a reason."
"Deja Vu all over again.
Reviews are identical to our experience.
Order placed for 660 Garmin.
2 Days Later: Phone call to verify order and-
"Why not order the $99 SD card?" (Don't need it)
10 minutes later: Email: Back ordered for 4-5 weeks
4 weeks later- Customer Service says "it'll ship in 2 weeks (rudely) after inquiry for order status and hangs up abruptly.
2 Days later- Back ordered for 5 to 6 weeks.
Too good to be true apparently.
How do these people stay in business?
Shop elsewhere- please!

"I should have read these reviews before ordering from 86th Street. I ordered a GPS and just like everyone else I received a call to “verify some information about my credit card” that was already given with the order. I was told I needed a “specially formatted SD Card” that was just for Garmin. I agreed to purchase the card for $89.00 plus tax. The card is a typical SD card and I could have purchased locally for under $29. Please read the other reviews. From my experience they are true."
"These people are not in business of selling electronics, they are charlatans attempting to lower gullible naive customers to sell their junk accessories at very excessive price, like 5-10 times more expensive. they were very rude from the start, and specially used offensive language when I declined to add any additional item to my original order and eventually hung up on me. Few hours later they send me an email indicating that the item I have ordered was out of stock. I am very much concerned about the information they have gathered on me including my credit card info which I cancelled right away. they appeared more like Russian mafia than a business entity."
"After ordering a Garmin 660 GPS on 3/30/2008, I received a telephone call from Kevin at 86th Street Photo & Video asking me to verify the shipping and billing addresses, which I did. He then proceeded to tell me that he noticed that I hadn't ordered an SD memory card with the order and asked me why. I todl him that I could buy an SD card anywhere and he proceeded to tell me the one needed for the Garmin was "special". I told him I was familiar with what was needed and told him no thanks. I asked when the item would ship as I needed it by April 9th. He cut me short and told me they would send me a tracking number when it shipped. This call was logged at 2:43 PDST. Later I checked my email and found I had an email from 86th St. P&V logged at 2:45 PDST stating the item was backordered for 3-4 weeks. The e-mail stated that they had a negative stock from the time I ordered it until the time it reached the shipping department. Their site states usually ships in 1-2 days. Im my case it took 3 days to contact me to "verify"
my address and try to sell me an SD memory card.
I am very disappointed that they were even listed on the Cnet stores list. "
"I ordered the Sony Cybershot DSC T300 for a great price of $199. 2 days after I placed the order, they sent an email stating they needed to speak to me about the order. When I called, they claimed I left off the expiration date of the credit card (I know I did not). He then states I did not order memory for $179 and the camera won't work without it. I told them I can buy the memory for less and am not interested, after arguing, he moves on. He then states I need a battery. I said there was one in the kit, he says no, none come with the camera but he can sell me a 2 hr battery for $99 or 5 hr for $169. I pulled up the web site and the battery is part of the kit. I told him to cancel the order since at this point, I do not trust what I might get, if anything at all. I will never try and buy from them again, buyer beware!"
"Same horrible experience as those before me. I made the order for a GPS receive online on Sat. For some reason I went searching on Sunday for reviews of the seller and came across all kinds of internet traffic about the unscrupulous dealings of ths store. By Monday morning it was playing out exactly as all the others had, from the ambiguous email, the call from the company saying my order would be delayed, and so on. I cancelled the order on the spot and gave them no room to wiggle. I went to Buy.Com through Google checkout and paid a bit more but have my GPS on the way! Buyer beware!"
"DO NOT BUY! BUYER BEWARE!!!!
They are 7 web sites!!!!
Broadwayphoto.com
Milenniumcamera.com
Soniccamera.com
Shopcartusa.com
everyprice.com
86photovideo.com
wisetronics.com
I check the BBB:
http://search.newyork.bbb.org/reports.aspx?pid=44&page=1&id=86867
If you call the 1800 number for each site and hit x222 it will ring and say no mailbox set up and hangs up.
Folks do not buy from them. You will get burned. I am a Special Agent for the government and I have done my homework.
I ordered the Canon camcorder. Everywhere else list at $700-1000. So when i saw it for $499 I jumped on it. They called to confirm and up sell me. When I did not buy the over priced accessories I received a email back ordering my unit. I checked the site a day later and the price had dropped $20. This is a Bait and Switch. Beware!!!!
They also sell under Sonic camera.com"
"I had an identical experience to many other reviewers on this site - I found a Canon G9 for $150 below all other websites. Too good to be true? Definitely!
I ordered, received the e-mail asking me to confirm my shipping address, was informed the battery only lasted 20 minutes (so definitely not the standard NB2LH branded Canon battery you get in the kit). I declined to order it or any other accessory, and immediately received an e-mail saying it was on 3-4 week backorder.
I then checked this and other seller review sites and thought "these guys are crooks", and called to cancel. I got through, said "I'd like to cancel my or..." and was put on hold for 15 minutes! I hung on and eventually spoke to an agent, who took my cancellation. I have an e-mail confirming this, so I'm hoping I'm safe. I bought the official kit from Best Buy. Camera is great...!
My only worry is that they have my credit card and address details, so at worst there might be fraudulant charges, at best I'll probably get deluged with even more spam.
Morals of the story:
1) if something is too good to be true it probably is
2) check reviews of unfamiliar web sites before ordering"
"I ordered a Canon SD950 after reading a few reviews and warnings but I thought what the hey they have the best price and maybe if I make it clear when placing order that I do not want any extras I would avoid any problems or pressure calls...NO! I got a call; They tried to sell me a battery, said no thank you, next day I get e-mail "not in stock,3-4 weeks for delivery." 4 weeks later another e-mail, "not in stock,5-6 weeks to re-stock." What a joke, just hope they will at least honor their cancelation instructions. My order was #531719-W."
"True bait and switch. I placed an order, I received a call the next business day. I refused to order additional overpriced merchandise. Five minutes after the call my order was backlogged due to inventory problems. The web page still shows the product in stock. What a waste of time! I am amazed that this is legal. "
"I had the same experience as others, placed my order and received an email next day - "Please call". I called, spent 45 min on phone and been told that my GPS unit unavailable... Total scam. The same expirience with the "BroadWay Photo" and any electronic merchindise reseller from the New York..."
"Same experience described below, must call for confirmation, the contact claimed a missing month of credit card (although it processed with the order), and then an email stating that a three-week backorder would be necessary because they were suddenly out of stock. Very shady, glad I found this set of reviews to confirm my suspicions. Like another, I don't understand their position as a featured merchant on lowpricedigital."
