"Contrary to all the negative reviews, I had a good experience with ABC Gift Cards while purchasing 2 Home Depot cards. The first card I purchased was for about $20 and I received an email almost immediately containing the gift card number and PIN. I verified the number and amount with Home Depot and the amount was correct. Since we were in the process of purchasing a new washer, I decided to jump in and purchase a $500 card the next day for $462.50 (7.5% discount). This one took about 8 hours to receive but I'm guessing it had to do with the high amount of the card. I received an email with a PDF attachment that contained the card number and PIN as well as a bar code that I could take to the store (I didn't need that since I was buying the washer online). Overall I'm happy with my experience and will use them again for more gift cards."
"I have bought cards from them, several times over. They're usually very quick to ship and have the credit they should. Last card I got from them was a Payless card.
I'm pretty satisfied and will probably continue to buy cards from them."
"I sent them an AMC gift card and they sent me an amazon gift card in 6 or 7 days. I was very satisfied with their service and would sell cards to them again."
"WARNING -- BEWARE -- FRAUD
I bought a gift card from ABC Gift Cards through Gift Card Granny. I received a piece of paper in the mail with a code and instructions on how to use the gift card online or in a store.
After giving it as a gift, I got the embarrassing phone call a few weeks later saying that the store rejected the gift card because it had no balance. Luckily the person I gave the gift card to used it right away and I was able to dispute the charge. If they had tried to used it a few weeks later, I would be completely out of luck."
"It's been almost 30 days and I still have not received over $ 350 worth of gift cards that I sold to ABC. I have contacted ABC numerous times and received only 1 reply saying they were sorry and they would expedite my funds within 48 hours. That was over 2 weeks ago and I haven't received anything and I can't get anyone to respond to me. With all the negative reviews I am reading out there combined with no way to reach them it appears I will be filing a claim with BBB. Not sure if that will help however at this point it can't hurt."
"I ordered a gift card on Dec. 15th, I called them on Dec. 24th and they said it was being processed today. They wouldn't do anything to remedy the situation besides giving me a $5 credit towards a future order! I laughed and said I will never order from your company again!
They are a total scam!!!! "
"I am sad to report that ABCgiftcards sent me a gift card that was already partially spent. But hey, sometimes that happens when the person that sold them the card uses it to make a purchase after they have sold it. The other issues here, though, are that it took ten days to arrive, and when it did show up and I discovered it was $10.00 short, they would do nothing to make it right. I finally ended up reversing the charge on my credit card. "
"I have made several purchases from the aforementioned company. Every time I have to email them (usually a week later) to receive an update on my order. Magically, the next day the order ships. Slow to ship and poor responsiveness compared to other giftcard centers. Their prices just are not worth the frustration. "
"Would give a zero if I could. Ordered a Starbucks card and should have received shipping info within a few days. NOTHING. Called and was told that they would email me a copy of the card. NOTHING AGAIN. Thank God I paid via PayPal. Filed a claim with PayPal and was reimbursed. There are better more reputable services out there Raise.com, Cardpool.com and more. Do your research before getting ripped off! Better yet, NEVER purchase gift cards from them."
"THIS IS A TOTAL SCAM. I purchased 3 gift cards in November 2014 and instead of cards this company sent my COPIES OF THE CARDS. After complaining to them and days of emails they admitted that they retained the actual cards and elected to send paper copies instead. Reeks of fraud!!! I had to dispute the charge with my credit card issuer after days of getting the run-around from "Gabby".
In addition to sending my photocopies of cards, one of the 'cards' they sent had a 0 balance. Imagine ordering a sweater and being mailed a photo of it- this is exactly what this company does. "
"I bought a Bob Evans gift card on June 29, 2014. I received it promptly. I did not use the card within 45 days, and on Oct 2, 2014, the card balance was drained. Since Bob Evans doesn't have any customer site where you can manage or transfer gift card balances, somebody on the inside who had my gift card number drained the account.
I did email ABC Gift Cards claims dept, and got back a stock email saying they tried to contact the seller of the card but were unsuccessful. They will attempt legal action, etc. I think it is highly unlikely I will hear again, they aren't going to pursue legal action (too expensive).
I give it a high probability that ABC Gift Cards periodically checks on gift cards they previously sold and drain them. I did have another card in the past that also got drained by ABC Gift Cards.
You can buy from them, but you have to use the card within 45 days. This makes it inconvenient to buy from them, and most likely I won't buy from them again.
BEWARE!"
"This company deals in stealing your gift cards, never paying you for them, and selling them. That have taking over $500 from me so far. If you buy one of these cards, you are receiving and using stolen goods, and you may be arrested. I have reported these dirt bags to the police and all the companies that they steal card from."
"I recently won a high dollar gift card in a giveaway to a store I really knew I wouldn't be spending it. They sent me two $500 gift cards and, based on a review on a major site, I went with them. I decided I wanted one as an Amazon Gift Card and the other as Paypal. I sent the cards to them, priority mail, insured, and with signature delivery. I didn't want to take any chances. It was only after I mailed them away that I started reading more reviews on various sites -- and was secretly freaking out that I just sent $1000 away to never be seen again. Now they did email me to say my cards were in "escalations" which means you're a first time customer...and they need more info. I was a little peeved when they requested banking information, my last four of my social, and a copy of my driver's license. I wrote back saying I wasn't going to give all of my personal information to them - especially since Paypal has my banking info (and license) and Amazon doesn't need this to process. I thought they should let people know what will be asked of them prior to telling them to just send in their cards. So she wrote back saying to just scan a photo of my picture ID for them....which I did because I felt that is what any reseller/pawn shop/etc would request too. After that, things were processed swiftly and I received $370+ in Amazon & $370+ in my Paypal. So I'm taking the time to write a review because I know most people only write one when they've had a crappy experience - and I wanted to share that I did it with very high dollar cards - and it was basically a very pain free experience.
What I did - and would suggest everyone do for peace of mind (especially now that I've read some reviews)....Take a picture front & back of your gift card...especially if you've scratched the pin# off (I've read reviews where they've said they couldn't read the pin, so they can't process it)....then...go online and check your card balance....AND..save a screenshot of the balance (making sure the time & date is also showing (so they can't come back and say there's a zero balance)....make sure you mail it with some sort of tracking so you can make sure it arrived and when. So when all is said and done, if you do it right, you will have proof that a.) your card had x amount of money on it at whatever o'clock...b.) you mailed it away at whatever o'clock (thanks to your shipping receipt)...and c.) it arrived at x o'clock on whatever day. THEN if they come back saying there's no money on it, you'll at least be able to have proof should you need to take them to court (because they'll be able to pull up when and how the card was spent)....so that's my two cents worth. I personally didn't have any issues with this company and would use them again."
"DUHHH! DON'T USE THESE GUYS. abcgiftcards.com buys used gift cards with balances from people, and sells them for a discount to other folks. I bought 2 Cabela's gift cards - a $70 & $80 card. I received them promptly in the mail and immediately went to Cabela's site to confirm the cards balances. They had both been used and redeemed and carried zero balances. MY MAIN POINT IS: WHAT KIND OF BUSINESS SELLING USED GIFT CARDS IS SO UNSOPHISTICATED AS TO NOT CHECK A CARD(S) BALANCE JUST PRIOR TO MAILING IT? The answer escapes me. Anyway, I contacted them promptly and filed a claim with them. Their warranty / guarantee is only 45 days from purchase, so it is best to act immediately. I had to go their cardcash.com site to be able to contact them via email. Their abcgiftcard.com site had no contact page. I will give them that their claims service was good. Within days they acknowledged my email, kept me updated to the progress, and credited my money with 5 or 6 days of filing. WHY SHOULD A PERSON EVEN HAVE TO EXPERIENCE THIS FRUSTRATION IN THE FIRST PLACE? Again, the answer escapes me."
"First: I have purchased many gift cards from ABC and always had good (but sometimes a little slow) service.
However: If you buy cards from them --or Cardcash.com, the same people-- be very aware of their "protection plan" of only 45 days from the time of the sale, not the time you receive them. After the 45 days you have no recourse if the cards turn out to be worthless. I recently got stuck with 4 Subway cards which were apparently purchased with a bad credit card or check. Subway subsequently removed the balance from the cards. Being past the 45-day limit, I had no recourse with ABC. None of the other resellers have this limit."
