"Even though it's been nearly 3 years since I purchased my ABS computer, Antonio in Tech Support quickly resolved my one and only problem I've ever had with my ABS Ultimate V3 PC. Cudos to ABS Computers and Antonio!"
"Order was shipped within 3 days. Great product at a competitive price. Email updates every step of the way. I don't think service or the product could have been better. Will buy again."
"Very pleased with the entire process - from website to personnel to the operation of the PC. All top notch."
"I purchased an Awesome 3500 system from ABS and would definately purchase another system from them. The ordering process was great and I liked being able to track my system online.
Shortly after it arrived, we had some problems with it freezing while playing games but after installing some windows updates have had no problems.
I watch TV or listen to music on the system while working in Quickbooks and Excel applications with no problems. The applications zoom a long and downloads are a snap. We love this system and love ABS!"
"Great price. Good computer. Unfortunately, I had compatability issues with the nVidia drivers, and discovered from bulletin boards to simply update the drivers to the latest version. This was not something ABS support could tell me. I eventually did a google search of the error message, downloaded the drivers, and that fixed the problem. My abs provided ethernet card has also failed. Only took about two weeks, so now the cable modem is connected via USB. Oh well."
"Well, my original purchase was in september of last year and I had all kinds of problems. You can check out my diatribe in my earlier post http://www.resellerratings.com/seller1431-p3-s1-d1.html
After much fustration and a scathing review on this site, ABS finally agreed to ship me a new system this past April. They finally did the right thing and then some. I was upgraded from an Athlon 2600 to the 64 bit athlon 2800 processor. My sound and video cards also got a boost. Since I was getting a brand new system I decided to order a plextor dvd writer to go with it. After ABS recieved my old computer I noticed that they refunded me the FULL amount. The new system works perfectly now and I got a new dvd writer for FREE. Even though the last few months with the old sytem was hell, ABS eventually came through and went beyond my expectations. A working abs system is truly a top notch pc. High quality, a great looking case, and a reasonabe price. You can't beat that. Any supplier is bound to put together the occasional lemon.
My recommendation is to go ahead and get an ABS. If you experience any difficulties within the refund period (even if the problem seems fixable), just SEND IT BACK. More then likely you have a f'ed up system. That probably goes for any manufacturer. You can always just reorder another one and you'll save yourself alot of grief."
"I would recommend ABS to anyone who is in the market for a new computer. This was my first time buying an ABS system and it will be the first of many. I purchased an AWESOME 3300 and have never been happier with a computer. It came in about a week and it truly lives up to the name. I am an intermediate user and I purchase a new computer every couple of years. I also upgrade a lot during the time I have my computer. I have already added several components to the computer I just purchased. I just like doing it. That is one of the things I like about ABS. It is easy to add to the system."
"Love your product have been computing for 20 years started with ti99. the quailty is really here beats anything on the market I have seen for the buck."
"Right at first let me say that I think ABS's customer support is "way over the top" and exceeds that of any other company of it's type I have ever been involved with or have heard of. The remainder of these comments will attempt to communicate why I say this.
In the beginning ABS was just another company from which I was looking at to buy a computer. But as I began narrowing my choices down to ABS only (primarily because of system value) I began to tell them about my somewhat unique requirements. These requirements were primarily concerning the fact that I have had five brain surgeries which have left my hand coordination abysmal. I told them "You don't want my hands in this machine. Period.". They told me that this could and would be accomodated. In other words, they would do what was necessary to fix my machine since I could not be an active part of the physical troubleshooting of any problem. My mental abilities are OK, (I am a disabled Senior Systems Engineer and was a member of the technical staff at Texas Instruments.), but even TI forbade me to pick up a soldering iron.
The machine which I chose was the one using the AMD FX-51 64-bit chipset populated with 2 GB of RAM. All top of the line for the time period that I got it.
Anyway, after I got my new machine from ABS, I began to experience Weird and non-reproducable problems. When I called their support company they recommended that I send the computer back to ABS. I explained that this was a real problem for me because of my disabilities. They then indicated that ABS would be contacting me directly. ABS called me shortly thereafter and I reexplained my situation. ABS indicated that if I could get the machine reboxed, they would have Fedex pick it up at NO charge to me, and that after they fixed it, they would return it to me at no charge also.
Well, I got the machine reboxed with the help of a friend (He did all the physical part of the work.), and Fedex arrived to pick it up. Fedex had a prepaid preaddressed label to put on the box and off the computer was sent.
About two weeks later, Fedex returned the machine. But this was essentially a whole NEW machine. ABS had done bunches more than I was expecting. Let me enumerate what they did:
A new ASUS SK8N mainboard
A new ATI Radeon 9800 Pro video card
All new Corsair memory (2048 MB of DDR RAM) to replace the Mushkin memory in the original machine
Two new SATA drives of 160 GB each
They tested everything (of course) before they sent it back to me at absolutely NO cost to me.
Now how does the new machine perform? Flawlessly and with an almost velvety smoothness is how. I have yet to see any slideshows in anything I have run it on. I am very happy with both the service and the resolution of my problems provided by ABS. I recommend them unequivocally. A ten out of ten.

"I just received my computer few days ago. I like the way it looks and performances. The interior design is superior and neat. The sales rep was very friendly and helpful. He guided me to the right computer I need with my budget limit. I will purchase more from ABS soon."
"ABS computers is a great company with great support. When I first got my ABS, it came in on time, very very well packed. It also came with a large yellow binder, in it was all of the drivers and documentation of all the parts. The only problem with the binder is that it has sections for everything, and what seem like little ziplock baggies for everything. The ziplock baggies were all locked on top, but the plastic undid all on the bottom, so all the documentation was everywhere. Not a big problem, but just really really annoying. The system itself is awesome, and exactly as described. I love my ABS and will buy from them again, highly reccomended. I contacted tech support twice for a few questions, and they are AWESOME!!!!
A great buy"
"I only have good things to say about ABS. 3 business, 5 calender days from order to receipt of my system under standard shipping. From their prices which can't be beat down to the impressive assembly and performance of their systems I can wholeheartedly recommend this company.
Their 3rd party tech support vendor does leave something to be desired, however, once getting in touch with ABS's own tech support any problems I've had had been quickly solved.
Edited 10/26/04: Unfortunately, I must ammend my praise of ABS regarding their warranty policies. After searching their forums, I found a post from an ABS representative directly stating that problems due to updating the BIOS would not void the warranty. After updating my BIOS it had become corrupted. ABS stated that my warranty was void due to my unapproved modifications, when I directed them to the post from their own representative on their forums. I was told I still needed to deal directly with the motherboard manufacturer. Shortly after I got off the phone with them, I checked back and the post on their forums that I had referred to had been edited to correct the misinformation.
Had it been clear from the beginning I would not have a problem with the BIOS not being a warranty item, however, the shady way they went about denying my claim and then changing the info in their forums has completely changed my opinion of them. The machine was still top notch, but the ethics and the way ABS does business leaves much to be desired."
"This is a copy of email I sent to ABS, for your information its not resolved yet.

Hi,
I purchased a Mayhem G1 this week after reading your review. It is a good system, but I had a problem with the sale, because I was overcharged about $80 dollars, or shorted about $80 dollars of components, depending on perspective.
The ABS web site made consistent errors with my selected options, so I called a sales rep to place my order. We miscommunicated because of the following wording on the Mayhem G1 at:
----------
http://www.abspc.com/app/config.asp?mono=1780
----------
Accessories
No Second Battery for Mayhem G1
Battery for Mayhem G1 Notebook Non Refundable - Retail [+$81]
Detail Spec | Model:258-Battery(ITEM#ABS34999752)
----------
Accessories
No Extra AC Adapter
AC Adapter for Mayhem G1 Notebook - Retail [+$35]
Detail Spec | Model:258-ACADAPTR | Manufacturer Link | (ITEM#ABS34999753)
----------
What does that mean? No second battery gets you 0 or 1 battery? No extra AC Adapter gets you 0 or 1
adapter?
When I ask for the extra battery and AC adapter and I add the total price and compare prices with the sales rep and find only a $2 difference I assume we agree. However, not so, because the sales rep quotes one battery and one AC Adapter at $80 over the web published prices. Check the prices if you don't believe me, instead of quibbling, then tell me what price you get. I have printed pdf files with both options and their prices from the web site, so its quite clear if you wish to look.
You don't find out until delivery that you have an issue, and it seems like too late when I try to correct what I perceive as a fairly advertised price for what I ordered.
When I stated I wanted the battery and AC power supply, meaning two of each, the sales rep was thinking only one. In fact she upsold me the extra AC adapter, because I did not originally want the extra one.
Well, to my suprise when the system arrived, there was a total of one each and no seconds, but the price was the same as if I order two of each on the web site. I'm told the sales staff has different prices than the web site, but as a customer I can not judge what the sales staff uses.
You would think I could resolve this with a phone call, but I've since spoken to the sales rep twice and customer support once and they will not give me a fair price yet.
I consider a fair price what I could have gotten on the day of sale (about $80 less than I paid) or what I could get on today with the same purchase (about $70 less than what I paid). Its not a 'great big' deal, but I feel the web site causes significant sales problems, and the sales reps and customer support are unable to help when I immediately recognize and report a problem. It almost seems like false advertising with price switching and overcharges. This is the reason I'm unsatisfied and going through the complaint
process with all avenues.
Sorry if this does not concern you, but I thought you should be warned at least of problems on the ABS web site, and possibly my situation.
Thanks for you attention.
Regards,
Mike Thomas"
“Thank you for your comments. We apologize for the confusion on the web description. When you buy the Mayhem G1 automatically it will come with a battery and an ac adapter. "Good purchasing support.
Quality accessories.
Excellent price for the product.
Recovery disks are okay but very limited. I would have paid more for a full set of disks if it was even an option.
Setup instructions are limited and did not address some facets of my system.
tech support is uneven. Sometimes you get good people and sometimes the answer is significantly lacking.
My system may have a problem but it is difficult to get the right people at the right and I will have to go for a while collecting data before I call for resolution.
Too early to say if I will buy from ABS again."
"Read the other comments on this board about tech support. Initially I recieved poor support, like others who posted here. I finally talked to someone with a better attitude and recieved great support.
Other issues:
PC shipped with two screws rolling about in the case. I found they should be holding the HD in place. Case is of poor quality - holes for screws to hold card in place not tapped and there are sharp edges to be cut on. I do not find this unusual in today's price competitive world though. I upgraded the powersupply to get a better and quiter fan. I am glad I did.
It is a good machine. I was looking for a middle of the road machine and bought ABS's low end for less than the price the compitition's would have been, after I added the memory, larger HD and XP Pro. I got a good video card to boot.
Shipping was prompt as well. E-mail communications are well automated to keep one abreast of the build/delivery process.

"I am the proud owner of an Awsome 6300. It is about as close to instant as you can get. I've never seen anything this fast. It has an AMD FX51, twin 120 GB hard drives, and a Radeon XT 9800 video card. Spending this much, I have been extra cautious in firing it up, and have called tech support several times. They have been absolutely great, just great, and have helped me through my moments of confusion, without fail.
I would, without doubt, buy, again, from this company."
