"I had an upgraded motherboard and new raid rard drives installed in my CPU by the ABS goup at their factory. They did a an outstanding job and even replaced a failing CDRW unit that I had no idea was failing.

"My last purchase of 11 pc's for my office was through a GSA contract. This in itself is tedious. I have previously purchased 4 systems for my office. Since had good results then with both the systems and service I decided to return to ABS for this last purchase. Again I had good results in configuring and recieving the pc's that I wanted.
The problem this time is their current service policy on returning defective parts.
Since I am employed by the Department of the Navy, my systems may contain sensitive information. Thus when a hard drive crashes it has to be destroyed. With the previous systems that I ordered, 1 hard drive in one system crashed. The system was still under warrenty so I called ABS. I explained to them that I needed a new drive and that I wasn't allowed to return the defective drive. They understood and promptly shipped me a new drive.
However, with this latest batch of 11 pc's that I ordered for $13,000, I had a drive crash. I wasn't too worried because of my previous experience with ABS's service dept.
I was PROVEN WRONG!! I explained my problem and told them I could not return the drive because of DOD procedures. I was told they would not send me a replacement drive without me sending them the old one. I again told them that Department of Defense procedures would not allow me to send the defective drive, unless the platters were removed. They still would not accept this.
I called the sales representative and told him my problem. He said he would look into it. A week later I called him back. He gave me the Service manager's phone number. I left "Ginger" a message explaining the situation. NO RESPONSE!!!!
I now feel that if ABS can't replace a $30 drive then they don't need any more business from me or my office....
An aside, it was my supervisor's pc that crashed. He has made it very clear that he is not happy about not having his NEW system."
"I have 3 ABS Computer systems and they have been excellent systems. They stand behind their warranty and I have had no problems getting minor parts replaced. I have had 2 mice replaced and one cooling fan. Each time I contacted their technical service by e-mail and explained the problem, supplied the necessary warranty information, my shipping address and within 2 days I have notification by e-mail that the part has been shipped. They have been easy to work with. Thanks ABS"
"Technical support is almost non-existant! I purchased a 3500, it came with a gliche in IE6. I can not get through to tech support. A call screener takes your name and number and says a tech will call back in a day or two. After hours support is no better. Today, 2/16 my problem is still not fixed. Customer support no longer returns my calls. E-mail sent using ABS link "****@****" from their web page is returned by ABS postmaster--must be their in-basket is full."
"Note: My original ABS purchase date of November 16, 2001 (invoice # 329463 ) was not accepted - I am about to purchase a new system from ABS and thought I would relay my experience of dealing with ABS and their great tech support after purchasing from them the first time 3 yrs. ago.
I came across this site while researching my next computer purchase (which will be from ABS). I am getting a new system to replace one I purchased in 2001. The system still works great - I'm just want something faster and I will give this computer to a family member.
ABS is one of the best companies I have ever done business with - computers or otherwise. I had a minor switch problem with my system which ABS QUICKLY remedied sending the tiny replacement switch out fast and at no charge.
Tech Support from ABS is the best of any company I have dealt with. Tech Support is truly free (as in TOLL-FREE) and doesn't end within a set period as with so many other companies.
I called tech support just the other day while researching systems and spoke with the same gentleman who had assisted me with the switch! He had even assisted me about a year ago when I upgraded the motherboard even though I did not purchase the motherboard from ABS.
I look forward to purchasing this next system from ABS - it looks like it will be the Ultimate M5-64.

"What a great company to do business with. This is my second ABS computer. I bought my first system in March of 2001. I had one minor problem back then, the floppy drive was not configured in the BIOS. I called, they answered and solved my problem. I've had my new PC for one month today, very pleased. Order process was smooth, it arrived when they said it would and it has worked great so far. I have three friends who have ordered Dells in this same time frame and they have all had hard drive and other problems. I will buy from ABS again."
"Purchase went very smoothly. Been having the same problem with the computer since purchase. Finally, talked with Tech services yesterday 2.13.04 after many calls. NEVER got a technician on the first try all were call backs. Some the next day. Technical service hours are unsatisfactory - only normal work hours. Technician that I finally talked to had to put me on hold numerous times I assume to consult with someone else - very poor. I'm not sure problem was fixed. Final remedy from technician was for me to get an old monitor and connect it to my computer, but he did not have any more time to work with me -- kind of ran out of ideas or really seemed to loose interest."
"My order was processed quickly, and everything is in good working order. I was a little disappointed with the shipping, as my PC arrived one day, my monitor the next day, and my speakers a few days after that, but everything was handled well. I made a call to their tech-support department shortly after setting the machine up, and their response was outstanding!
