"Awesome 6300- Warning-Be prepared for nothing but problems.DOA out of box-would not turn on. Shipped back,ABS replaced motherboard,3 week turnaround. DVD drive failed,shipped replacement. Problems with audio driver, video driver, speakers. Wireless keyborad failed. And after 1st month, you pay shipping to return failed parts. Tech support takes 24-48 hours to return phone calls. Yes it's incredibly fast,but very expensive. And I'm still waiting for my rebate. For this much money do you want all these problems?"

"Before we had purchased an ABS system, we had first bought two Dell PC systems. The first was very good quality. The second was a major disappointment.
The setup of our PC was black, the monitor flickered, the PC had Windows Millenium edition (which was our fault for buying) but none the less it was a disappointment from Dell. I was expecting excellence and we got about average. Eventually the monitor developed blue lines across it and had a brightness problem.
Fed up with the Dell machine, I searched online to see what PC would be better then Dell.
I went to PCworld.com, and discovered their rating of the number 1 PC as the ABS system.
I investigated and saw ABS offered more features then Dell did for my PC (especially a TV tuner, which I purchased) and at a lower cost. Plus, I loved ABS's policy of not installing ridiculous software such as AOL trials or Fax machine software (how many people today have Fax machines?) that Dell installed on our previous computers.
When we received our PC, it came well packaged, with all the instructions and pamplets for all the products we purchased in the PC (for the motherboard, memory, hard drives, etc.)
The only thing we had a complaint on was lack of a manual. We later received one yet didn't contain much information. Yet we were experienced enough with PCs to know what we were doing...and it doesn't take a scientist to hook up a computer, so it wasn't much of a concern for us.
Overall, today, I adore my ABS PC. It runs smoothly and efficently. The monitor does not flicker at all. Today Dell does offer monitors at 19 inches that do not flicker, however they should not have sold us one that flickered in the first place.
I would defineately recommend ABS systems to anyone. I am sure to order from them again because they build excellent PCs."

I have purchased several computers from ABS, as well as recommended ABS to others. I have not had any negative feed back from anybody nor have I been other than satified with the computers received. I have one question though, in the past all the manuals and software was received in a notebook. This last computer came with the motherboard box full of documation and software but no notebook or user manual! At first I assumed that ABS had stopped using the notebook, but then one of the people that I recommended ABS to received their computer and called me to tell me that they were as pleased with the computer as I had told them they would be and how they really liked the notebook containing all the documation and software. The notebook is an excelent of keeping all the records together and I commend ABS for doing this as an extra service. But is there a way I can receive a notebook for this computer?

"I bought a new computer from ABS. The ordering system was excellent, and I got the computer with very little problem.
I did try emailing tech support, which only resulted in my being told to call up the tech support line (which of course I can't reasonably do at my computer, since I have a day job). I was trying to figure out if WindowsXP shipped activated, or if I needed to activate it myself, but I couldn't get anyone to answer that question in any useful way after about half a dozen emails. (Perhaps I was being stubborn by not simply calling eventually, but it WAS a fairly simple yes/no question.)
Since it's been 30 days since I've had my computer and it hasn't stopped working, I can only assume that Windows comes activated -- just for anyone who may encounter the same problem."

"Overall, an excellent experience. For starters, I truly appreciate the fact that their web site is usable in Lynx; it makes me feel welcome in my technophilic Luddite tendencies. I liked the straightforward configuration mechanism. I liked the good prices and quality components.
The computer shipped and arrived on time, I set it up, and I haven't had any trouble. (Note that it was a low-end machine about three generations behind, so I was expecting a trouble-free experience. But I didn't want the Dell/Compaq crap that has shared-memory video, either.)

"ABS ABS ABS……. Well what can I say……
I am finally using a computer from these guys and it has not died on me in as much as 4 months now. The 1st machine had 3 video cards and 1 power supply replaced before it was sent back. It was sent back because the HD’s died and the motherboard was suspected of being defective. The re-order got royally screwed up, but was eventually fixed. I was without a computer for 3 weeks in the interim. The new machine had the front USB port wired incorrectly, a cases fan was defective, and the DVD ROM drive died a few months after arrival. I fixed the USB port by myself (terrible tech support – outsourced – complete idiots) all the other stuff was replaced. Also, the new machine’s cabling is not very tidy (on the 1st machine the cabling was outstanding). The customer service is good, but must be followed closely. They must be re-verified on all promises, and ALWAYS ask for written proof (they forget quickly). To their credit they upgraded me on the replacement machine with a better video card and a newer case. The credit card mess that followed this transaction was difficult to straiten out. I had to threaten to contest several charges to get credit. (Replacements are charged to the credit card until they receive your defective part back) I have to admit the machine is impressive – speed and looks. But, with all the troubles that I had, I am still fearful, how long will it hold up??? The warranty is terrible – 1 year parts. Tech support and customer service are only opened during normal business hours – no evenings or weekends. Do not believe them if they tell you otherwise. I would not buy from them again, nor would I recommend – especially if you are not super technical and afraid to open the case and swap components and tinker with wiring. Pricing was very good but with all the hassles, I ended up with a poor deal overall. My recommendation to ABS is you guys have to have better quality control. 80% of my problems were bad hardware; there is no excuse for that.

There was a slight delay, but the customer service was excellent. They quickly resolved the problem and were very polite. The computer has been working great. I did have a problem with the Serial ATA drivers, but they technical support was excellent as well. They took me step by step on how to rectify the problem. I would definetly purchase a computer again from ABS."
