"I would like to say "thanks" to ABS for selling me a great system and its customer and tech staffers who have taken their time to answer my questions. I thought of buying a Dell or Gateway, but my friend recommended ABS, saying that his ABS' system has been running great. Before I decided to buy from ABS, I also read some good reviews about its systems and services. It gave me some confidence in this company.

I was quite impressed by its sales agent who explained different systems to me in detail and advised me what would be the best for my application. I finally placed the order, and my system arrived on time as promised. In fact, my computer has been working very well since day one. Sometimes, I called their support for some help, I was always well treated and got the appropriate solution.

If someone asks me "Where to buy a computer?" I won't hesitate to tell him to get a PC from ABS.

"Although I am satisfied with the "Custom Configuration" I bought from ABSPC, their customer service department NEVER explicitly stated or even implied that I would have to put the computer together myself. The note on the top of the page for custom configurations states that you should only use the custom configuration option if you are an experienced PC builder, however the layout of the page implies that it will be put together for the customer. There isn't even an option to pay for assembly and burn-in testing. This is not good customer service. I am satisfied with my machine because I put it together and it works great, ABSPC needs to state directly that Custom Configurations will not be assembled by ABSPC. Oh, and I didn't get an ABSPC mousepad. Now I have to use a piece of binder paper for this ridiculous optical mouse (I wanted a Logitech non-optical, because Logitech makes the best mice, but they don't have Logitech non-opticals at Circuit City anymore."

"I searched around for a while looking for the right company to order a custom PC from. After searching for not only the hardware and prices, I came to this website, and read their ratings. I then decided on ABS.
I placed my order...and ran into a problem. My shipping address is different then my billing address; so it took a day or so to smooth that out. The plus side though is that ABS would not continue the order without VISA approval, which is an excellent security feature by ABS. This cuts down on the use of stolen credit cards.
Once this happend, everything was perfect. The computer was built in only half the time they told me it would take, and shipped right out through FedEx. ABS's online stauts check is wonderfully easy and convienant. It came a few days later. I found my computer, monitor, and speakers all as I hard ordered them. I also got the 6 inch thick binder with all the hardware paperwork and software, organized very well. I set it all up, and everything is running great. The computer ABS built for me is one hell of a piece of machinery, and looks great to boot. Monitor is perfect, and the sound system kicks ass.
When I now need accessories or parts, I plan to go back to ABS. They are great!

"I've been operating computers since 1984. Business, home stuff and I love those flight simulators. I found out a long time ago that it's what inside that counts and that reachable tech support is a must.

Half the fun is shopping and I researched and researched...reading reviews...and comparing companies and $$$$'s I wanted an AMD 3000+ Barton, 1024 gig of ram, Radeon 9800 video card and to tell you the truth....every aspect of the machine was well thought out. Love the Antec 1080 case! I narrowed it down to 3 companies and I choose ABS. Good choice.

Eddie was great to deal with, very accommidating and professional. He told me that because of the ATI 9800 video card, it would be 3 to 4 weeks for delivery. I got the machine on the 17th, signed, sealed and delivered!

The machine was packaged very well, built the way I wanted it and not a scratch on it. I didn't recieve a mouse, but the one I had was new and I was goin to operate it anyhow. Eddie next-day'd me one along with a T shirt for the inconvience. He told me to call him anytime, he was there. A+

I went through the routine of transfering data, setting up and learning it....took a day or so. I love the computer, operated very well, fast is an understatement, quiet, neat....and I'm comfortable with it....no, dang it!.....I love it!!

"I ordered the computer a month ago, but had to wait for it becasue of the videocard (Radeon PRO 9800).

The configuration in the website was easy; like many people have said in these reviews, ABS was one of the few companies which had the right set of components I was looking for. Plus, they were willing to upgrade me to an Audigy 2 Platinum even thought it wasn't on their selection in the website.

Furthermore, when shopping at other companies, a similar configuration would run at least $1,000 more. The closet I saw was Hypersonic at about $3,300, but it seems that their service is terrible. Alienware, for all what people say about their competitive price, was over $3,500 for the same computer.

My specs: P$ 2.66 mhz, Asus P4GX board with 1 G PC2600 DDR mem, two 200 GB HD in RAID0, Radeon 900 PRO, Sound Blaster Audigy 2 platinum.

ABS was very up front about the wait times, and even called me a couple of times to update the status of the videocard shipping to them.

I received the computer yesterday, opened it up and everything worked fine. I don't really do frame rate tests or anything like that, but suffice to say that I can run all my games with all special effects turned to the max level at about 1024X768 and 1280X1024. Above that, I find that I need to turn off a couple of effects or lower the quality level.

In any case, very happy with the computer, the customer service was excellent.

"Before deciding to go with ABS, I had narrowed my choices down to five resellers:
abscomputer.com (my choice)
ibuypower.com
monarchcomputer.com
neocomputers.com
velocitymicro.com

All five websites provided configurators allowing you to create your personal system. However, each company offers a different mix of brand options for each component. It seemed ABS offered ALL the different brands while the others just had two or three. This allowed me to get EXACTLY the components I wanted. All 5 companies are fairly comparable in warranty terms. Where one picks up 1 year onsite, they may drop 24/7 tech support.

ABS gives lifetime regular hours phone support. This was a mark against VelocityMicro who gives just one year of phone support.

ABS gives a 30-day money back guarantee. This was a mark against Monarch and Neo who give only 15/30-day repair/replace, no money back.

ABS gives 1-year 24/7 tech support or onsite service. This was a mark against Ibuypower who gives 1-year onsite only, no 24/7 tech support.

The last test was here at ResellerRatings.com. ABS was 3rd for the "Last 6 months" score and 5th for "Lifetime". However, Neo and VelocityMicro have less than 50 reviews each. Looking a little deeper, nearly all the negative responses for ABS had a nice resolution. Customers may have had problems, but it seemed they were always compensated fairly in the end. Replacement items shipped at company expense, money credited back, etc. I can not say I saw this for the other companies. More loose ends seemed left untied.

ABS was priced in the middle of the pack, offered me the exact components I wanted, had solid ResellerRatings reviews, and gave comparable or superior service and support, so I decided to place my order.

Phone was answered in just under 5 minutes by Selina. Helpful and friendly, she listened to my system configuration and confirmed her total price was the same as what I got off of the website. I paid by credit card, late on Tuesday.

Later that night I got an email saying my credit card was declined. Visa had put a temporary hold on my card due to this amount being much larger than my normal purchases. I guess they are watching out for me, which is good, but it was kind of a hassle. This could be avoided by calling your credit company first to alert them of your upcoming large purchase.

The next morning, Wednesday, my Visa was automatically re-run by ABS and my order went through. I called to confirm this with Selina, who was happy to rehash all my system details again to comfort the skeptic in me.

I had noticed that ABS sometimes has weekend promotions like free shipping. Selina said these were not announced until late each Thursday, but if my system had not been shipped by Friday, I could still be credited back the shipping. Friday morning I had a message left at work from Selina saying there is free shipping this weekend and I qualify. I called her back to verify, $125 back, just like that! For pricing, this moved ABS from 3rd to FIRST of the five companies.

My computer arrived on time... just a week and a day after I ordered it! Everything was packaged securely with nothing missing. My only problem is the power button on the Klipsch speakers will not engage and stay on. Easily fixed with a piece of tape for the moment, but I need to contact ABS about a swap or repair. I will add more here after that.

"(they shuld have a gamer on a budget option) ok, here is the story of my computer. i had a farily good lap top for a while. but after i got into gaming it became inadiqetfor my needs. i lived with the krapy frame rates for a while, and evrey now and then id check out dell and drool over what apered to be desent comps. them i picked up my month pc mag and sow this baby. it kicked ars. so, without the adiqet funds for even a consumer pc, i dooled som more. now, a few weeks ago i came acrose the munny to buy the abs bravado 2230. i pocked, i porded, i custimized. i came out with the computer of my dreems for around 1000 usd. i was in heven.

so, i did the resurch on all the parts, i spent hours and hours each day looking at evrything i could. i even spent 2 days jest reading revews of the fdd, which im never going to use! evry revew i read made the computer sound more and more atractive. finly, after aproximitly 6 months, i boght my computer. it arived today( it tolk only 2 days for the thing to get to far easter mass., and was about 5 days ahed of scedual!).i luged the thing upstares(they put alot of packing in the thing, and admit it, pcs are hevy), pluged it in, and vwala, it buted right up. i have spent a few hours on it gaming, and it runs with the alian wares iv seen at best buy(if not better in some casses!. i had some odughts about the case, or rather the fans, as i herd they make alot of noise. but all thouse are gone, because when i pluged it in it pured like a kiten(well, maby not that loude). the only problem i have with the abs folks is that my free T-shirt didn't arive with my computer, but ill call them on friday to deel with that.

"I just experienced a most surprising experience from this company. My bank originally approved this purchase amount(last night).today I checked with ABSPC to be sure of an item and was informed by ABS that the order had been declined by my bank.I then immediately called the bank to get a clear understanding of what was going on and was informed that the amount was several dollars over my current limit. I then called ABS back and inquired as to what they recommend I delete and/or change in the order to stay under my credit card limit. After a few seconds I was informed that they(ABS) would forego the difference and ship the order as originally planed.Well, imagine my surprise. Like going to the candy store with not enough money and the clerk saying never mind give the candy to him anyway. If every thing else is as pleasant an experience as this then ABS can expect my next PC purchase which is only several weeks away."

"So far so good. Excellent customer service from Eddie at their phone in order desk. Ordered two PCs and was able to modify both configurations outside of the "stock" configuration. Eddie was very diligent about getting the orders right, and making sure we agreed on both configurations. I decided to make this purchase after reading some positive comments in PC Magazine and thier continued selection as an "Editor Choice" for thier products. Pricing comparison to Dell showed them to be as good as, if not a little better for a comperable configuration. The proof of the pudding will be in the timeliness of delivery and quality of the finished product. Based on the current ratings, I'm looking forward to being another satisfied customer. If I'm not, I'll be sure to have a heart to heart with Eddie. Post delivery follow up rating addendum. Eddie was a trooper, followed up when I had to call because they did not deliver the monitors with the PCs. He was Johnnie-on-the-spot getting the monitors shipped. Problem came the next day, they only shipped one of the two. As I was walking in the house from signing for the delivey, Eddie was on the phone telling me they goofed in shipping and that the second monitor would go out that day. It did and arrived the following day. So far so good. One week later, the hard drive on my PC went belly up. I called into tech support and got someone I could barely understand. After a few minutes of discussion, it was determined the hard drive was on it's way to failure and the directions were to back everything up and replace the HD. They gave no RMA numbers or traking information on shipping the replacement. Not feeling "right" about the whole conversation, I called my man Eddie the next day. Once again, Eddie jumped in to get me an RMA number and order the replacement HD. I thought that was neat, until I found out that the HD was being shipped 2nd day FedEx and it was Friday when the HD was finally shipped. I got it on Tuesday. All in all, I was without the new PC and hard drive for almost a week. When I called Eddie to follow up, then sent an email for asking for some explanation, I got no reply. All in all, I'm still pleased with the PC, but their customer service, and Eddie took a hit for the lack of follow up with the HD. I could have used my old monitor with the new PC on the monitor issue, but more than a one day turn around on the hard drive was unacceptable. The PC was a paperweight without the hard drive, and then I had to reinstall the whole OS and software since the Restore Disk that came with it was useless. Live and learn. "

"I ordered form this company because they have exactly what I wanted and at very fair prices. I ordered on the phone with Salina. She was very professional and cheery at the same time. I have managed up to 700 people in a call center as well as being the corporate quality assurance manager for over 5,000 employees. I always hoped that my agents would be as professional as Salina. She created an atmosphere of security and friendliness. She made me feel that I was in good hands. She had most of the answers to my questions but was not afraid to put me on hold to get me the most accurate information. I will definitely return to order more product.

April 28th, now that I am at the other end of building this computer I feel the need to report on the how everything went. I purchased parts from three sources. Two were online and one about 10 miles from here. I was not let down by eanyone. My order from ABS was shipped immediately and was received a day earlier than expected. I received everything as ordered and promised. The computer went together without a hitch and is working properly. I am very pleased with ABS and will definitely use them again. I feel very comfortable having used ResellerRatings.com in helping me find people that follow through on their commitments allowing me to do the same.

"I recently recieved a modified ABS Sensation 1300 based on a favorable review from PC World. I upgraded to the Atec True Power Case, 1 GB Corsair RAM, and Athlon 2600+ (333), and a Western Digital 120MB (8MB Cache) hard drive, Radeon 9500 Pro. I opted out of a monitor and speakers - oh - all for about $1200.00.

This computer rocks and ordering could not have been easier. The computer arrived on time - and - I mistakenly ordered an upgraded power supply, but the Antec Case already included a better one - so they automatically took it out of the invoice and credited me $33.00! Awesome.

Quite simply, having done a LOT of research from the big names like Dell and Gateway - this is the best value vs. performance I have ever seen. Anybody who pays $1200 for a piece of garbage computer at Best Buy is brain damaged. So much more for the money thru ABS.

ABS deserves their excellent reputation and I would highly recommend ordering a system from them. Sorry to sound like a commercial, but this was my first experience ordering a PC online, and I was very impressed.

"I found ABS from one of my CP magazines. I had just returned a system from a competitor { I am not hard to please mind you } as it was extremely cramped,high temps and very poor customer service.
I got online and located ABS and after reviewing main page I opted for a system.
The page setups are great. Even more so the detailed reference links of the items available for system selections. It gives you the item appearance in various angles,direct link to manufacturer and detailed specs so you know exactly what you are getting.
I was able to configure a system for my media work at probably the best value for the buck I could find.
Service was great and my hats off to Rosemary for her exceptional interaction and prompt response in clearing up some software items I added to my order but hadn't received them when my system arrived.
By far the finest retailer online or direct I have found.
