"Even though it's been nearly 3 years since I purchased my ABS computer, Antonio in Tech Support quickly resolved my one and only problem I've ever had with my ABS Ultimate V3 PC. Cudos to ABS Computers and Antonio!"

"I've been preparing to purchase a new computer for some time now. In the past, I have usually purchased upgrades and installed them myself, but this time I wanted to have someone else do most of the work for me. I looked at the 'boutique' computer sellers (Falcon Northwest, Alienware, Voodoo) and the big general manufacturers (Dell, Gateway, HP) but wasn't able to find exactly what I wanted at a price that was worthwhile. I went through the ads in the magazines and found ads for systems that were close. I knew I wanted an Athlon XP 2400+ because that was right about the pricing sweet spot. I also wanted the Asus A7N8X Deluxe motherboard, the ATI All-in-Wonder 9700 Pro video card, and the Western Digital 120GB 7200RPM 8MB Cache hard drive. I didn't NEED a sound card, since I already had one in my old system; likewise speakers, keyboard, or mouse. I had a reasonably new 19" Trinitron monitor and a DVD-ROM, so I didn't need either of those. So I found ads for systems that included those features, and went to the companies' websites. Of all of them, ABS offered me the most flexibility at the lowest price. So I configured the Awesome 3220. It starts with two of the hard drives, so I removed one. I upgraded the RAM to 1 GB of Corsair DDR RAM, removed the keyboard, mouse, monitor, and sound card. The on-line configurator wouldn't let me remove the now-unneeded RAID controller or the speakers, so I downgraded the speakers as far as I could. Also, the system is configured with the new Radeon 9800 Pro and a 4-week shipping delay. I didn't want to wait, but I couldn't change it online. But finally I got everything pretty close to my ideal, and the price was close too: about $1300. Then I called ABS, and talked to the very helpful salesman whose name I forget (but I'll update it later). He was able to help me even more by completely customizing the Awesome 3220 to my specs: he got rid of the RAID controller and the speakers for a big savings, and even saved me a couple of bucks by letting me skip the software bundle and a couple of other things. Best of all, he was able to swap the ATI 9800 for the 9700 and save me a 4-week wait. Then I asked him to hold the order for me for a couple of hours, which he did, and I started my final price comparisons. I called a local computer store (not a chain, but a local one) and gave him the exact specs of the system I had just configured. When he eventually got back to me, he quoted me a price that was $300 higher than the ABS price -- and that was without an operating system OR the $300 video card!
This was great. With ABS-PC's help, I was able get the COMPUTER that I wanted, and I didn't have to pay for the ACCESSORIES (DVD-ROM, Monitor, etc.) that I already had. I got a working system with a warranty for several hundred dollars less than I would have paid for the parts alone (and I still would have had to build the thing...)
The system arrived on the date promised, I set it up and was up and running in minutes. The driver/manual binder is great, the packing was secure, and so far I have no complaints, just compliments. I would recommend this place to my mother!"
"Great customer service...Eddie was great! He guided me through the entire buying process and made me feel good about my buying decision! Thanks!!"
"ABS provided a great system at a good price. Their customer service and tecnical support has been excellent"
"Let me start out by saying that i did alot of research on this company before deciding to purchase from them. I had ordered my comp on a sunday taking advantage of their free shipping offer they had. I was a little nervous about doing this over the comp but fortunately all worked out well. I recieved the comp 9 days later, on time, and was very pleased when i got it. the only problem was the microphone that was sent was cracked in half, probably because it is placed on the very top of the shipping box. I have read another review of the same problem where abs had taken care of it for them. Well after waiting twice for more than 20 mins on the line, once after being disconnected, the other after becoming aggravated, i decide to call "Rosemary" and leave a message on her voicemail. Unfortunately it has been a week now with no responce whatsoever. Fortunatly, everything else seems to be working great and im very happy with the purchase. I just wish the customer service was a little better. Overall, I would recommend abs to people and hope i recieve a responce from posting this.
update: i recieved a phone call today about my problem and was told that they would send the new mike out. Thank you abs, i knew you wouldnt let me down. Now so far im totally satisfied! "
"This company is just great. I received my computer on time and everything is beautiful. It is everything I expected and more. I will definitely try this company more often. I am so happy I chose them."
"This company is awesome! BUT, they seem to make mistakes in their shipping department. 2 times now (for my rig bought in January and for a TV tuner card just purchased) they sent boxes to wrong addresses. My computer got sent to some other guy in January and my TV card just got sent to the wrong address even though I explicitly told them which address to ship to. So, buy ABS, but tell them where it's going very clearly and check your shippment progress so that mistakes are cut off before they waste lots of time. I love this company and their products, but I don't trust the shipping department."
"I'm very happy with my new ABS computer. It was easy to purchase and I've experienced no problems with my order or the computer. The price was very competitive, and I'd recommend ABS to anyone looking to buy a reliable and powerful PC."
"Of all the Companies I have dealt with through the years,ABS has remained my favorite. My whole relationship with them has been excellent, interms of price, service and returns. Most Companies have gone downwards in service, but ABS has remained stellar .

"Well, I am at the very beginning of the purchasing phase with ABS. I have been researching comps for months. Orignially I was going to get a laptop, but find it more cost effective to spend the money on a really good desktop. I am replacing an IBM Aptiva which has served me well for over five years. I have chosen a Bravado 2350 with tv tuner, 19 inch monitor, and Ath. 2600. This system came to under 1500, with other upgrades and additional software. The latest laptop that has caught my attention would cost me 2000.00 plus another 500.00 for extended warranty and taxes. I decided ot buy from ABS after finding out that the HP system I wanted to buy from the company could not come with an extended warranty as they do not sell them in NYS. It worked out in my favor as the system I orderded from ABS costs only 200.00 more with FAR superior specs, a larger monitor AND a 3 year warranty. Speaking of the warranty, if you go to their website, you will find that they only offer a 1 year warranty. I called yesterday to inquire about the change and the rep told me, "We are following industry standards...." Which I thought was a bunch of crap, as the extended warranty is very important to me and is one of the distinquishing qualities that draws me to the company. I was ready to give up on a bto comp, then called back later and got Eddie on the phone. He told me that they will offer the 3 year warranty until the end of the month. He let me submit my order yesterday although someone else will be paying for the system by check. He said they would hold my order for seven days and I should let him know when she has sent the check out to them which she will do on Thursday. So long as they get it before 4/1/03, I will get the 3 year warranty. I was very appreaciative of Eddie informing me of this. I called back today to add something to my oder. I was happy for the chance to leave a message on voice mail detailing my concerns. I got a return message within an hour and five minutes after that, Eddie and I were on the phone talking. So far so good! Believe me, if I have any problems with these people you and they will definately know it! Will keep you updated!"
"Very pleased by the overall service-the packaging, the documentation, the quick shipping, and the follow-up. The system has performed up to every specification. I had one minor question, and the technical advice was fast and thorough.
I highly recommend them.

"Great Company! These people are really trying to become #1.
I have now purchased 2 systems from ABS. My salesman, Simon, does a great job. I haven't had any problems with either of them.
One of the things that ABS does is include a ring binder with dividers and color coded plastic pockets where you can organize and keep all the instruction manuals and disks. This becomes invaluable when you need them. I wish I had this for my Dell that is 6 yrs old and can't get the drivers anymore.
The bookeeper's computer at work died, (the Dell), It had to be replace right away. When I called ABS they told me they could rush the order and have a new one to my door in 10 calender days. I was impressed. I ended up getting it in 7 days. I couldn't believe it! They really go the extra step. Where can you get better service anywhere!
On top of the great service they also have great prices. The computer I bought, a Sensation 1250, is one of their lower end systems. Without a monitor it was only $492 and still got exceptional service. I wouldn't consider buying a computer from any other place. "
"I’ve been toying for a few weeks about buying a new computer, but with my old PII 350, built by ABS showing no signs of ever breaking down, I was hard pressed to buy a new one!
This morning however, it didn’t start for the First time in five years! I was panicked. I run a 4500-page community web site and I needed a computer, and I need one right now. I guess I could have run down to the local computer story and bought just anything, I’d feel like a traitor to ABS after all the good years its computer and staff have given me. So I gave them a call.
Talking to Eddie, the sales rep, was like talking to a smarter younger’ brother who was going to make sure an ‘older’ brother got the right system. As I didn’t have a computer to look over the specs, Eddie walked me through each one - but not before he quizzed me on how I currently used the computer I got.
As I have no intention of upgrading the system and will keep it till it dies, We picked the Awesome 3520 as my platform. Edie then went on to suggest a few down grades based on my needs, which saved me several hundred dollars and the deal was done ... I took less then 15 minutes tops!
A few hours later, I got the good news that all that was wrong with my PII was a bad power supply, and 29$ later, it was up and humming like it was brand new ... which makes me wonder if ABS computers ever really do die!
As I no longer needed to have the new computer rushed overnight, I called ABS in hopes of saving the overnight shipping cost. I got through right away, and was not surprised to be patched over to Eddie - as “He’s your service guy.”
Eddie was thrilled to hear my old computer was up and running again, and only too happy to change the shipping requirements. I then asked if it was too late to change any of the spec on the new computer, now that my head was clear. He laughed! “Sure, lets go over the system again.”
A few of my question’s Eddie was unable to answer, so he connected me with the service department who where more then happy to offer their advice. Eddie modified my order and wished me well.
Frankly, the response I got from ABS is what I’ve come to expect from the, and its why I’m proud to say I’m a repeat customer, and will never consider buying a computer anywhere else.
The quality and reliability of ABS computers are second to none, and their support staff, like Eddie, are always there when you need them.
As for my old PII ... It’ll start its next career as my wife’s computer, and I’m willing to be my next month’s pay check that it’ll be running strong 10 years down the road thanks to the quality ABS built into it.
Good job ABS, Good Job!

"update to my previous post , i finally got my system (using it now)it works like a charm my best computer i ever had .. occasionally i hear noise from the hard drive(i think its the drive) but so far not a single problem the only minor thing is that , during the time i waited for it to be built i asked them to change the modem to a branded modem (not the aopen brand that is the basic choice) and my card got charged for it but it wasnt installed ,another minor thing was they sent me a wireless keyboard that the key are a little more scrunched up closer than i am used to using and my fingers are too big so i end up hitting 2 keys at once other than that i reccomend abs to anyone purchasing a new puter , the salesman i dealt with (carlos) was very helpfull , and patient ,kudos carlos and everyone at abs "
" In regards to all my issues below, I LOVE the computer, it is fast and reliable, and I will absolutely order from ABS again. It was rocky at the beginning though.
The notes below are from a letter I sent to Customer Service and reflect similar occurance to other reports on this site. Rosemary, after only one prompting, quickly made everything right again and restored my faith in this company.
I placed my order for my system on February 14, 2003. This was done after reading a review in PC Magazine (for a different, but similar, system), followed up by careful research of ABS on this site. Overall, I got a very favorable impression of ABS and its products, so I placed my order.
Annoyance #1 and #2 - The very next day, ABS starts offering a President's Day discount of 5% on any system. On this order, that would have been a $25-30 difference. It would have been nice if someone had offered to apply that discount, or a credit, to my order. I probably would have ordered some extra memory or a second hard drive. The next weekend, ABS was offering USB flash hard drives with every system order. I have since found out this incentives on the weekend plan is pretty common with them.
My order was accepted, built, and shipped within the specified time frame. It finally arrived on February 27th due to an ice storm that paralyzed FedEx here in Texas. I was at work late that evening so the first opportunity I had to boot up the machine was the next night, Friday the 28th.
Problem #1 - The system had not been completely SYSPREPed before shipping. Upon boot-up, I was greeted with a SYSPREP screen asking me to save my final changes before the system would reboot into a clean screen for the customer. I made my choice, answered the questions it asked me and held my breath while it rebooted. Luckily, everything came up the way it should, EXCEPT...
Problem #2 - Except that upon rebooting I was greeted with a PCI Simple Communications Controller error. I tried locating a suitable device driver on the modem CD, the O/S CD, and the motherboard driver CD. No luck. I pull out my manual to call tech support only to discover...
Problem #3 - Tech Support is not open on the weekends or at night. Great. So now I am down until Monday, the 3rd. Three days down. I call Tech Support on Monday and after a couple of cursory questions, the tech tells me the modem is bad and that he'll send a new one. That makes me wonder...
Problem #4 - Why wasn't the modem tested? Barring that, why wasn't the SYSPREP finished, which would have resulted in a tech seeing the error message upon reboot? Barring that, why wasn't the Device Manager of the computer examined during a final QA, where the little yellow circle and exclamation point that means PROBLEM would have been seen? I'm actually slightly encouraged at this point. Similar customer issues, according to reports on the Reseller Ratings web site, usually warrant a next day arrival of the replacement modem.
Problem #5 - The modem was shipped Tuesday at 5:09pm, almost two full business days after I reported the problem, and it was sent FedEx Express Saver, which is a three-day service.
