"ABS has done me well. From the first contact I had with Eddie, it was clear that they value the customer and enjoy their work. My order was easy and delivery was prompt. When I tried to put a CDRW into my new system and had some trouble, Tony came to the rescue. Truthfully, I was so frustrated that I almost boxed the system back up and sent back, but the professionalism and care shown by the folks at ABS kept me a customer. I've always told my employees that a challenge that is handled well will bring you untold benefits. Tony and Eddie have helped me out and my confidence is with them."

"I ordered my ABS computer after a discouraging experience with Alienware (they estimated 6 weeks or more for my computer to arrive after charging it immediately)I ordered my computer from ABS after talking to Evan, a customer service rep, who not only answered all my questions quickly, in depth, and, unlike Alienware, without a heavy accent. He even offered free shipping! I thought, "Hey What a deal!" Then I worried about being charged before the computer was shipped again...but decided it was worth the possible $300 or so I would save over a Dell. A good choice in the long run. I was charged as they said, the correct amount without shipping, and the computer shipped in less than 4 business days! Wow! Quite a difference from Alienware! I am very happy with it, the only possible complaint I have (just a minor, almost expected annoyance with a gaming machine with eleventy billion fans) is that the Ultimate X5 is kinda noisy, but I picked it in part because of its excellenct case and cooling design, so I can hardly complain. ABS even went the extra mile and complied with a with special requests! I couldn't be happier with my computer, and I would reccomend ABS to all. Don't fear their relatively small size, they are a great company that actually cares about customer service and keeps its promises. "

"They were great, with one little caveat. I ordered a barebones system consisting of a case, mobo, processor and DVD drive. In their terms and conditions it says that it takes 5-7 days for assembly and testing. I assumed since their really wasn't much to assemble or test, that mine would be done at least in 5 days. They took the full seven business days, which made me a little annoyed, since that made the expected delivery date July 4th so I didn't get it until the 8th because of Fedex's delivery schedule. Anyway, besides this one little annoyance the actual product was great and I received all the retail boxes and manuals with my comp. I would recommend these guys to anyone.

Update: I recently went to add by CD-RW from a old computer to my new one and the drive rails that were supposed to come with the case weren't there. I called up customer service at 5:00pm prepared for a fight, but after 5 mins, the CSR had found the rails I was missing and placed an order (at no cost to me). Today after checking my e-mail, I had received my tracking number for the order. With nothing better to do I checked it and what do I see? The order will arrive this morning (the day after I ordered them, in fact less than 24 hours after I ordered them.) This shows to me that ABS know how to take care of their customers when they make a mistake. Again, I would fully recommend them to anyone looking to buy a new computer.

" I purchased the Awsome 3300 with upgraded options on 7/2/03. I'm still waiting for it to get hear though. It took them a while to assemble my system and the whole time Ive just been getting more anxious to get it, and i checked my order status often, one good thing is that you can check the status of it online and they tell you if its getting ready to be built, is being built, tested, etc. But to my dissappointment it took a long time to finish building it. It sat ready to be assembled for 2 days it took them 4 days to asemble it another day having software installed, another day for testing and then was finally shipped out yesterday, 7/10/03. They say that you will have your system in 5-7 days but I guess depending on how busy they are it could take shorter or longer than expected. My computer is coming in a couple different boxes also and wasnt shipped out all at the same time so one is scheduled to arrive on 7/15 and the other on 7/16. Well I just hope that the system works fine and from the reviews ive read they are very goos machines, but I have read people that have had extremely bad times and hopefully i wont be one of those people. Ill update this once my system arrives and hopefully it will be worth it.

I just recieved my pc yesterday and man it was worth the wait. Everything came packaged neatly, and the gave me a very well organized binder with the manuals and all the software. The pc is truely awesome and well put together. I highly recommrend buying from this company, even though it took a little longer than I would have liked to ship, the pc is great and thats what matters.

"DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. Placed order three weeks ago. Automated e-mails back claiming they cannot handle volume and my order was delayed. Spoke with their Customer Service Manager Rosemary. She said the pc is in some sort of quality control and will make sure it ships out the day I called. She called four hours later (after their business hours knowing that I cannot call them back until Monday) and said she did all she could and could not ship out. I, as a first time buyer, had to initiate the order status inquiry as their take on customer service is to say their busy, am working on it but provide no firm date of shipment. ABS charged my credit card the same day I placed order, so it's been three weeks I'm out $1400, and I get the run around as even their customer service manager can't get a pc out as promised.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH THEM!!!! I am a PC purchaser for large company and thought with all the great reviews I give my personal PC order a try before I make a volume purchase. ABS is the WRONG choice!!! I will now go with Polywell PC instead.

STAY AWAY FROM ABS. You'll won't have any grief.

"Similar exp as posted by Karlos Sanchez several days ago. Ordered Ultimate M5 5/26 did not arrive until 6/17. Setup easy, ran fine for two hours then spontaneously shut down -- no power. Tech serv has us jump a few connectors & diagnoses as bad power supply. 6/24 replacement power supply arrives, tech serv advises install. Sill no power, tech serv walks us thru connecting each component & when HD is disconnected the power appears. Tech serv says we need to replace HD. 7/1 HD arrives & tech serv walks us thru install -- system will not boot. Once again disconnect all components & no boot record -- poss CPU or MB. Cust serv arranges return although had to call again when they did not show. Tech suppt mgr says they will move to front, w/ holiday & July 4 will spill into next wk -- should have by end of week though. Fri, July 11 NOT A WORD FROM ABS. Can't get ahold of supervisor Rosemary. Sales rep Eddie says he will get them on it. I request a manager -- Eddie dumps me back into Rosemary's voice-mail. I'm 46 days and several diagnostic hours into to a brand new high end system -- wasn't planning on building my own. To potential purchasers I'd say BEWARE -- you're playing the lottery here. If you get a working system that's fine, if not you're screwed. At this point am waiting for a call, a computer, my money back -- anything.
Update: After posting my comment, I was contacted in short order. The replacement computer was shipped overnight & received 7/15 with a few extras. ABS even followed up before I had it out of the box. So far, working flawlessly. While it was challenging, in the end ABS did the right thing. It appears that they may not be quite staffed for their current volume -- just a conjecture.

"Purchased an "Awesome 3520" as a first purchase of a non-big-name brand off-the-shelf computer. All purchasing was over the web and went without a hitch. Everything delivered promptly as advertized. No surprises. The computer was well assembled and, impressively, ABS puts together a neat, color-coded owner's manual packaging all of the manuals of the various components. Nice touch! After a couple of months I had a video card blink out on me. After a painless call to ABS tech-support and trying to quickly troubleshoot, they immediately shipped me a new video card and paid return shipping of the bad card. This has been my only problem/call on the computer but it was handled quickly and politely. ABS will be my first stop to shop for my next system."

"I spent months searching for not only the best deal on my new pc, but I also wanted a good company to work with as well. After looking at the "big boys" and looking at their abysmal ratings here at reseller ratings I descided to look elsewhere... ABS was my final choice. Their ratings here sold me on them. I actually once owned an ABS pc about six years ago when I purchased it during a program my school was offering. It was a solid machine that now is used by my sister. Anyway, I ordered Awesome 4500A for gaming and average home use. The final price came to 1500.00 which was right where I wanted to be. I knew that sometimes ABS had specials going on weekends, free shipping or money off, so I waited until they had a deal of 75.00 off the price. That paid my shipping plus 10 bucks to spare for more goodies...hehe.
I ordered it on the 27th of June. I am a bit disappointed though because they havent shipped it yet due to many orders being placed. But aaaha...ABS comes to the rescue, after I e-mail them with my disappointment they give me 2 day fedex and a free teeshirt. These guys are THE BEST! Although I havent got the pc yet I wanted to let anyone know how accomodating they have been thus far. I will update when it comes in.

UPDATE: I got my machine today, and it was worth the wait. I read the couple of ratings above mine and I feel badly for them, but ABS did a nice job with my pc. It did take longer than expected but they were willing to work with me, got faster shipping from them because of the delay. I didnt get my tee-shirt though. I will be calling them to find out where it went.

"My letter to the Managers:

My name is Karlos Sanchez (C# ******). My studies revolve around the computer industry (being a DeVry U student). I am writing to you to express my deepest disappointment in your company, ABS Computer Technologies.
On June 7, 2003, I chose your company to build me a hi-power “gaming” PC to replace the one I have had for over four years. Your company was highly recommended by my family and colleagues over companies that I was considering for this project (Dell, iBUYPOWER, and Computer Brain). I went ahead and ordered am M5 built with each and every part exactly to my liking. On your web site (and still to this day), it said “It takes between 5-7 business days to ship the system from the time of purchase. However there are no guarantees on shipping due to time constraints with FedEx. We do offer different shipping choices if you would like to get the package faster.” The M5 was shipped out on June 18, 2003, 8 business days later. I called customer service to see why it took longer then the maximum 7 days and was told that since it was a hi-end “gaming” PC, the timeframe was more like “8 to 10 days” because it had to go through more tests than your “regular” PCs so that everything would be working properly. This is not stated anywhere on web site. Unfortunately, this is only the beginning of my problems with ABS.
I received the M5 on Thursday, June 19, 2003. After about 2-3 hours of downloading software and patches for gaming software, I tried to enjoy some PC games (Dark Age of Camelot, Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, and Battlefield 1942). However, to my surprise, during the enjoyment of each game, the M5 would randomly cancel the game (sending me back to the Windows desktop) or would even go as far as rebooting the entire system on its own. I called tech support the next day (Friday). At first, they thought it was the power supply, but it wasn’t. Then, they thought it was the games itself. That seemed extremely unlikely. They said to restore the factory settings and just install one game and run it for 2 hours, if it happens again then to call them back. By the time it happened again, tech support office was already closed (8:30AM – 5:30PM PST). What’s worse is that your company is not open on the weekend, not even tech support. I was stuck with a PC that could not function properly without any help for it until Monday. I called tech support on Monday, June 23, 2003. At this point, the supporter was asking other supporters for help. They finally told me that the M5 needed to go back to ABS for repairs. They also said that it would take anywhere from 10 to 14 days before it would get back here. This was not good. A brand new M5 having to go back for repairs after just 4 days out of the box is unheard of, let alone unacceptable.
I was transferred to customer service for the pick-up info. I asked if I needed put the M5 in a box and was told that it wasn’t necessary; just give them the tower and software. Since the M5 was going back, I thought it would be a good idea to copy the software and game patches that I downloaded on to a disc just in case tech support had to restore factory settings again. To my surprise, again, the CD burner was also not functioning properly. As a result, I could not backup the file personally. At this point I started to question why all your brand new PCs go through a series of test.
FedEx came the next day (June 24) to pick up the M5 but told that it had to be in a box. Since the customer service rep told me otherwise, I didn’t have a box ready at the time of pick-up. So I called customer service back and they arranged another pick-up for Wednesday, June 25. Another day of repairs lost. The M5 was finally shipped out that day and arrived at your company early Friday morning, June 27, 2003.
I called customer service on Monday, June 30, 2003 to ask when can I receive info about my M5. They said to call back on Wednesday or Thursday of that week. I called on Wednesday and they said to call back on Thursday. I then called on Thursday and was told that the technicians were finishing up on it and would ship it out later that day or first thing Monday morning. Then I called today, Monday, July 07, 2003 to get the track # but was told that they still had it and won’t be shipped until Thursday. Angered and frustrated, I was transferred to a customer rep supervisor only to get a voice mail from both supervisors. I called back and demanded to speak to the technicians that were working on my M5 personally. We spoke a great deal about the origin of the problems the M5 had. They said they would need a week for the repairs. Once again, the shipping date was pushed back to a week from today (July 14, 2003) at the earliest.

Edit: ABS has contacted me about this situation and is going to send me a new M5 with a few "extras". I thank resellerratings.com for leting me voice my story. I also like to thank Rosemary and ABS for taking care of this severe problem with haste.

"My Awesome 3450 system arrived 8 days after placing the order. Everything arrived in excellent condition and worked perfectly right out of the box. My order was placed online because it was on a weekend and free shipping was in effect so I didn't have a chance to talk with a real live person to "tweak" my order. All the components I wanted were in stock so I placed my order. I was kept well informed about my order via email. Extremely pleased with my new system and would definitely order again from ABS, although the real mettle of a company is how they handle you when you have a problem. When everything works the way it should, there's really nothing to complain about. "

"I did alot of research before I bought from ABS. I read the mags and scoured the net. I'm very glad I bought from ABS. I've had Dell and HP machines before and their customer service just can't compete with ABS. Eddie handled my order, gave me great advice and helped me design a machine that would suit my son's needs for years to come. For what I got the price was very low. Dell certainly couldn't touch it. Eddie also went back and talked to the FEDEX people when they came to the wharehouse and asked them to see if they could get the machine to me the next day rather than the standard 3 day shipping since I lived in the local LA area. Well, the next day, much to my surprise the machine arrived, much faster than I had expected it would. I haven't got it up and running yet as my son won't be home until this evening. But I've peeked at it and it is indeed an Awesome machine.

You can't go wrong with ABS. Eddie's the man. He helped me every step of the way, returned calls promptly, and even has clout with FEDEX. What more could you possibly want?

"After researching and narrowing down all the components I wanted in a PC I decided to search for a company that would cater towards my exact configuration. After a long, frustrating, search I narrowed it down to Alienware. I was very reluctant to purchase from them given their exorbant prices. A few days later I was skimming through a gaming magazine and noticed ABS's ad on the back page with the exact configuration I wanted for much less than what Alienware was offering. After researching ABS a bit and noting their favorable reviews on this site I decided they would be the company to buy from. My system of choice was the Ultimate X5. The video card I wanted, however, had not been released yet. After conferring with Carlos via their instantaneous chat feature, he allowed me to put a hold on a system saying he would add in the video card when it becomes available. He did exactly that. He handled my barrage of complicated questions with the utmost tact and I commend him for doing so.
My system's en route right now and I am very happy to have gone with ABS Computer Technologies. The combination of the quality of their hardware, prices, as well as their service, Carlos in particular, is unmatched. I would gladly recommend ABS to anyone.

"Lets just get one thing out of the way first...

ABS Computing Technologies is absolutely the best and the most customer-friendly you will ever have a pleasure to do business with.

I order my PC on the 13th of June and I had it within 8 business days. Perfectly custom-made and with a gfx card that is yet to become available in the marter. Would you believe it that they especially ordered that card for me? Its not even available on their website yet but I have it running smoothly in the ABS System I am writing this review on.

Initially, I was hell-bent on buying an Alienware PC. Somehow, I found a CNET review of the ABS X5 Ultimate which completely changed my mind:

That really tipped the scales in favor of an ABS which runs approx. 500-600$ cheaper than an Alienware. Trust me on this one guys... the only difference between an ABS and an Alienware would be that custom Alienware casing. A word of caution: If you get the chance, go to your nearest BestBuy and take a look before you buy. They certainly are not as pretty as they seem to be on their websites. Whereas ABS PCs look absolutely great and you usually can choose between casing (along with that awesome cold cathode internal lighting). Another reason of not going with Alienware is that they take approximately 2 months to ship your computer. If you don't believe me, you can check out any independent forums (e.g. cnet) and you will know better...

Coming back to ABS. The PC kicks absolute ass. There is NO LAME "ABS Software" which might have been pre-installed. Actually, the word "ABS" is no where to be seen except on the free mouse pad that they sent me. Its almost like hiring a friend to build the system for you! And the performance is blistering! There is a big thick Yellow Binder with ALL the documentation with the original Installation CDs. I think that this is a very nice touch and more vendors whould start following this trend rather than cutting costs by using those cheap white CD envelops for everything!

One last special mention. ABS Support is absolutely awesome! Would you believe that such a company provides personal responses to all your requests/questions within an hour you sent your mail (between 9-5 Pacific Time)? Well you better becase they do. An absolutely wonderful Sales Rep. namely Mr. Evan Oliver patiently and productively replied to each and every bothersome email I sent him! I ended up making friends with him eventually which shows how wonderful and friendly their customer support is. After all said and done, they even gave me free-shipping and a free t-shit! What more can I guy ask for?

As I said, my order arrived within 8-9 business days.

Honest to say... I can go on and on about this company. If you contemplating buying a PC, go with ABS. You will find out that there is a company out there which provides blazing PCs at cheap prices and they still refer you by your name rather than a number!

" I am very pleased with my computer, I was very nervous when I placed my order because I thought for some reason or another I would recieve a faulty computer that wouldn't work or just something bad, because thats just my luck. Well so far so good, I've had my new computer for over a week now and it gets used about 4-10 hours a day everyday. I am now able to play BF1942, C&C Generals, Postal 2, Black Hawk Down, and Counter Strike all at max resoluotions with all effects turned to max without any problems.
I researched this computer for months before I bought it, and compared ABS to many other custom companies. ABS by far had the best pricing and some of the best reviews from not only resellerratings, but from many magazines. I still can't get over how much better the pricing was than all the other companies I compared them to. The computer I configured cost $1,387 before shipping. Heres' a list of the places I went to and configured the exact same computer and the prices.
Falcon Northwest: $2,079

Now I'm a gamer on a budget, I can't afford those big time rigs like Falcon NW or Hypersonic. So as you can see ABS is the ticket if can't afford the fancy big name gamming machines. IBuyPower was the closest in price, but they have recieved far to many bad reviews for me to even consider buying from them. And ABS has better reviews here at resellerratings than Alienware, Voodoo,and most of the other places. Also the only place that beat ABS in price was Newegg.com, but it cost $1,293, so for not even $100 extra ABS gives you the same parts and even puts it together and burns it in for you, and you get the tech support. This is by far the best deal out there.
I ordered mine online and it was shipped within the given time of 5-7 working days. It arrived on the specified day and was pakaged very well. It came with a big yellow binder with all the instructions and software and extra cables in it. I had a problem when I tried to use it for the 1st time, windows xp wouldn't let me log in. I think I screwed it up during setup so not ABS's fault mine. So I called tech-support and 20 minutes later they called back and helped me to get it working. So other than that 1st problem I haven't had any other problems since. It runs like a champ and stays very cool, all the exhuast that is coming out the back is cool, not even the slighest bit warm.
I also have some benchmarks just to show how it compares to some other computers. The computers I benchmarked it against are a Falcon Northwest and a Voodoo PC, both using just about the same components except for the processor, and dual hard drives. They used a amd xp 3000 barton and I'm using a amd xp 2800 barton. So mine is a little slower but to be expected. The Falcon NW scored a 16,642 using 3DMark2001SE.
The Voodoo PC scored a 16,666 using 3DMark2001SE.
The ABS scored a 16,496 using 3DMark2001SE.
Using PC Mark 2002 the Falcon scored 6,629 in the CPU test, 5,679 in the Memory test, and 2,254 in the HDD test.
The Voodoo scored 6,640 in the CPU test, 5,894 in the Memory test, and 1,477 in the HDD test.
The ABS scored 6,378 in the CPU test, 5,649 in the memory test, and 1,235 in the HDD test.
So all in all the ABS performed not to shabby especially when considering the price difference. Also the ABS was put together very very well. All the components came secured and the wiring looks great, and was all bundled, tied down, and looks very organized.
I would highly recommend ABS for your next computer purchase. I know when my brother or myself needs a new pc it'll be ABS (as long as this one doesn't crap out on me unexpectedly). Which if it does I'll post it here. Also for your amusement or curiousity here is the configuration I bought from ABS.
