"I ordered on 4/23/03. They called on 4/25/03 to try to sell me something more which I declined and I expressed concern that my order had not already shipped. This was 4/28/03 and my order had not shipped. They are great at charging your credit card right away but terrible when it comes to actually shipping an order out. Now it is 5/2/03 and my order has finally shipped. I had called to cancel my order but they charge 5% to cancel and order! If they are out of stock, or in may case, just extra-slow in shipping out your order, they still charge 5%. Basically, if you place an order on these guys' website and they are unable to make the transaction complete, you still pay 5%. This is probably my last order from these guys."

"Avoid at all costs!!
Tried to buy 120 gig hd that I found through Pricewatch. Picked lowest cost shipping option, and waited, never recieved a phone call, e-mail, fax, shipping notification, nothing but the first initial e-mail confirming my order. The two weeks that the shipping should take go by and I start wondering where the heck is my hard drive. I go to check the status of my order only to find that it was cancelled by accubyte. I called to find out 1: Why was my order cancelled, and 2: Why wasn't I notified of the cancellation. Spoke to two different reps the first told me that my order was cancelled because I didn't fax a waiver for the merchindise since it wasn't insured. No reason why I wasn't notified. The second said it was because my billing address and shipping address were different and that they couldn't get a hold of me to notify me of the cancelation. They said they got no answer when they called. I asked why they didn't e-mail since this is the internet after all and I wasn't given an answer.

Take it from me and the dozens of other shoppers this site has screwed. DON'T SHOP HERE!!

"EXTREMELY unprofessional !!!
I placed an order from a "Pricewatch" ad.
1st .....They quoted shipping charge was not honored.

2nd......When choosing the lowest priced shipping method, I received a phone call stating that I would have to sign a warantee waver since the item would take up to 16 days to arrive and they only garrantee the item for 15 days. (since when do Biostar and AMD only offer a 15 day warantee?) They said to watch my e-mail for a form to sign which I would have to FAX back before the order would be processed. I agreed and waited.

3rd.... I later received a second call offering to upgrade the ordered CPU fan and give me a 3 year warantee for an additional $29.95. I declined and was told that the order would be processed as soon as I FAXed the "form" back. The Accubyte representative got a bit hateful on the phone at that point as if I were doing them an injustice.

4th.........5 days later, I still had not received the promised "e-mail form". When calling back to inquire, I was told that they were still awaiting the return of the form that the never sent. I cancelled the order.

After reading reviews on the company, I am extremely happy that it turned out this way as they were probably just waiting to find some salvage parts to send me. This experience has cost ME a client, as I had a system promised on a deadline. Evidently, Accubyte does not want repeat business.

THEY SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN !!!

"Accubyte is a bunch of snakes. They lied to me about pricing information, refused to refund my money, and sent me a defective product which they subsequently refused to replace. You would be well advised to keep your money out of the hands of these lying, no good thieves."

"My experience with Accubyte was negative. Like others, I placed my order only to find out that the CPU I ordered was not in stock. I upgraded for $12 more. I ordered a motherboard, CPU, and case. I paid for assembly and testing of the system. When I received the system and added the other components, I was unable to install the operating system (Win XP). I switched all components and tried to other operating systems (Win 98 and Win 2000). The system still would not install the OS. As a last resort, I flashed the BIOS. The motherboard had the wrong BIOS. Obviously, Accubyte did not test the system. They are very problematic company. There is no customer service. They are into a bait and switch scheme. With so many other great reseller's rated here, don't waste your time, energy, or money with Accubyte."

"I have to give this company mixed reviews. While I did receive my product (p4 2.4 processor OEM) quickly, it did not come in OEM packaging, and the logistitcs of the whole order was clumsy.

I place an order via their website. I received a confirmation e-mail quickly. Later that night I had a message on my answering machine to call Accubyte in reference to my order.

I called them the next morning and waited on hold for an hour. When someone finally picked up the phone, I gev them my order number and they put me on hold for another 10 minutes. When the operator came back on the line she said she had to verify my credit card number in order to prevent fraud (Which is explained on their website, so I didn't have that much of a problem with it). After I verified my credit card number they tried to add a CPU heatsink and fan to my order since I oly ordered the processor. I politely declined and the operator completed the order.

I recevied the package fairly quickly and it was packed nicely but as I said before, it was not in the OEM packaging which made me concerned that I was getting a refurbished item instead of new.

So mixed reviews, but in reading past reviews on this company, the word of mouth advertising alone will prevent me from ordering from them again. Looks like I was lucky this time.

"Whats funny is that these guys actually have the product in stock, but due to sooo much competition, they have to drive the price lower than the actual company cost of the product. What follows is upgrades, or bait n switch phone calls/emails to cover up for the loss when the customer does not upgrade on the website. Beware!"

"Very deceptive business practices! uses bait and switch scams. I placed a rush order on their online website for 2 CPU's at the item price as advertised on their site. I now received notice from them that they are unwilling to honor their own advertised price. Buyer BEWARE!!! from this seller!!!"

"This company is a rip off! I received a USED motheboard with a damaged CPU socket! I ordered on 2/19/2003, received on 2/24/2003. I contacted them today 3/10/2003 (I finally got around to opening the box). I called immediatly and was told the 15day warranty started the day I ordered the product! I don't want anything other than a replacement! Nothing addtional! They gave me a dead end phone number to call to stall me! THEY ARE A SCAM!!!

If they give you the number ***-***-**** its a DEAD END!! WHAT a SCAM!

"STAY AWAY OR YOU WILL GET BURNED!!!!!!

I purchased a Bistar MB / Athlon CPU combo. Upon installation I discovered a bad MB (I'm a Tech). Even though I called them in the 1st 7 days (Of the Invoice date) tech support insisted I try several different things (new PSU, Thermal grease, etc..) after all this, low and behold I was past the 7 days!!! No full refund. I decided not to fight this company on their return policy about losing 15% to re-stock defective items and asked for replacement. I later called and they said it was the CPU, not the MB. I disagreed, they said they would assemble and test it.

Of course I received the same MB right back and have the same exact problem. They wouldn't overnight me a new MB, said I still had to pay to ship it back (AGAIN!!!). I give up. The credit card company said oh well, not much you can do about it.

Let them have their precious 15%, it must be worth more than REPEAT business!!!!

I now know how this company makes their living. They sell defective items to thousands of people, then take the 15% re-stocking fee, turn around and sell the same defective parts to other people.

The WELL will soon dry up my friends!!!!!!

Don't buy a thing from this company, you will be sorry.

"Ordered an Athlon XP 2600 cpu from these guys on Tuesday Jan 7th at 5:00am with next day overnight shipping. On Jan 7th in the afternoon, they called me and told me that they wouldn't be able to ship until the next day, Jan. 8th. I told them that would be fine. Also on Jan 7th, they charged my credit card for the transaction. On Thurs Jan. 9th, I checked my order status on their website to find out the shipping details but the order status said, "In Progress". I tried calling them but just got repeated busy signals so I sent them an email politely asking for the status on my shipment. (Their website said it was in stock).

They didn't answer my email.

On Monday, Jan 13th, I sent a 2nd request email, again politely asking for shipping status. (Their phone continued to be busy and their website continued to show the order as "in progress").

I am a patient man and gave them plenty of time to answer but still did not receive an answer to my emails.

Over a week later, on Jan 21, I sent them a 3rd email threatening legal action if they did not reply within 24 hours.

They did not reply.

In a last ditch effort, on Jan 23, I tried calling them again and this time got through! I explained everything to the rep who answered the phone. He said the price I bought the processor for was a price error and they would not ship it to me for the price on their website. I asked him why Accubyte had not made any effort to notify me of this and why they had ignored my multiple emails? The answer was silence! No response! I asked him why Accubyte charged my credit card the day I planced the order and had not bothered to credit my card back for an item they were never intending to ship to me? Silence...no response. I finally asked him why Accubyte treated their customers like this? I waited for about 10 seconds of silence until I eventually just hung up.

Amazingly, my credit card was finally credited the original amount they charged later that same day.

I had purchased computer components from Accubyte a couple times but that was a couple years ago so I unfortunately didn't bother to check resellerratings.com but obviousley regret that I didn't.

These guys have obviousley gone down the toilet and are a terrible vendor to deal with.

"I have noticed a increasing amount of complaints to this company. I own a significant amount of AMD stock, and I am going to advise that we stop dealing directly to them. Even though they sell a large number of processors, they hurt the relationship between AMD and customers like yourselves. They will be forced to buy processors from distributors at higher prices, meaning they will loose sales based only on price. Stay tuned and stay away from this company. "

"I ordered an Athlon XP1600 CPU and fan. Both arrived timely and in good condition....the only problem was in myself - ordered the wrong CPU for my mobo! Tech support was very friendly and helped me out numerous times to take care of the problem on MY part."
