"I like to add my 2 cents to rating this
vendor. I placed a order in early Feb. for (2)
64MB ram EDO dimms. I realize they
are a hard to stock item. To make a long story
short..It took three times with the
dimms being returned/replaced due to problems
with the dimms. First time..dead, second time
damaged, third time a no boot issue.
Finally, after talking their tech support and
a very helpful and patience seller ( Jim x14)
we traded in the memory for (4) 32MB edo dimms
Jim took the memory and tested the dimms personally
and shipped them. I can not thank him
enough for his help. I am very satisfied with this latest
replacement and it is working fine.
rating my experience with Accubyte, they responded
to my complaints and worked with me to a
solution. Although, I was charged a slight fee for
shipping, I accept this charge to to get
the memory for my system. Would I buy from Accubyte
again..YES ..BUT only IF I am dealing with Jim
the sales person. I rate Accubyte about a 7 on
this adventure. Thanks.

"A few days before Christmas, I placed an order for a 1.33 GHz Athlon barebones over the phone. The service was friendly, and the product was priced as displayed on the site. I have only one minor complaint about this part: more than once, a representative informed me that the product would be shipped, and when checked the next day, the product was not yet shipped.
Here begins the problems. After recieving the barebones system, I began to install all of my hardware. As I began to install Windows 2000, I encountered frequent crashing. It took my about twelve hours simply due to rampant restarting. After that debacle, the computer would still crash whenever I tried to use the in full. Games were out of the question, as was any attempt at distributed processing. After the new year, I contacted tech support. They suggested that I purchase a stick of non-generic memory; this was a decent explanation. I spent $72 on a stick of PC2100 DDR RAM. The computer still crashed. I finally returned the computer before the warranty expired..
They claimed that they ran the computer over-night running a benchmark software, and encountered no problems. They returned it, and I reinstalled my hardware. I had the exact same problems. I am currently forced to run Debian Linux (oh, darn) due to the slightly higher stability. I encountered full hard-ware lockups at _least_ twice a day. More so if I run the processor at full usage for very long.
This is not right. I have exchanged all of my hardware for different parts, and the problem persues. All signs point to Accubyte's barebones system. After $230 of purchasing and return shipping, I now will have to save money for a _new_ barebones system. Personally, I will _never_ purchase from Accubyte ever again. I recommend that any money conscious person take this review in consideration before taking such a plunge.

Recently I saw a great deal for a barebones Athlon 1.4ghz on Pricewatch that was sold by Accubyte ($150 for ATX case, 250watt powersupply, CPU, fan,htsk, motherboard). I placed my order on the phone per the instructions of the offer.

The salesperson was friendly and understood exactly what I wanted after I explained to him the advertisement I saw on pricewatch. He kindly offered a few extra items which I declined (being the cheap skate that I am). He was not pushy at all.

The shipping cost was $45, which is for UPS ground, from Illinois to Missouri. Ok, so maybe shipping is more expensive. It makes sense since they assemble it for you. It says on the webpage it takes 7 to 10 days before it is shipped.

I ordered it on a Tuesday and got it two weeks later. So do expect t shipping to be a little slower than usual, but I am willing to wait for it since it was a good deal. Plus, I'm sure they are back-logged for orders.

After the phone order, I came across Resellerratings.com and I became very anxious and worried after reading the feedback of other customers. About 10 days after my order I called to see if
they shipped yet, and the person who answered went and checked, and told me it would be in by next week
most likely Thurs. It in fact came earlier on Tuesday, so I was happy.

Even though the shipping was expensive, I must say the system was very well packed and all the items bagged and protected. So maybe it is expensive, but you can be sure it will arrive safely.

I set up the system with all my stuff, and it ran perfectly without any problems! No complaints, no horror stories.
It was the smoothest installation I had every experienced.

Maybe it was luck, but I must thank Accubyte for the relatively good experience I had.

If you need something fast, maybe Accubyte is not your place. Also, do a lot of research. I spent a week figuring out all the details on what I was ordering to make sure it would be compatible with what I had.

After shipping costs, I think this is the best deal I could have every found.

Thanks Accubyte. Please try and keep a good experience for the other customers out there. I will buy from you again.

"I bought a Motherboard-CPU Combo from Accubyte early March. Got it in two days as promised. But it never booted. When I called their tech support, I was told that the memory I have may be incompatible. Hard to believe, as I have been using this memory with my previous machine, I asked them to issue me RMA number for exchange. They were kind enough to issue me the RMA number on the spot to clear my doubts. I received a call from the tech support in the next few days saying that the combo works perfectly fine when they test with their memory. They offered me a discounted price on the memory they sell and free shipping on it too. They also guaranteed compatibility. Skeptical at first, I decided to try it anyway. Well, I just received the set with the memory and it works great. For my own satisfaction, I tried my older memory again to see if it worked; it did not.
I would like to say that Accubyte was not only helpful and patient with me in trying to find out what the problem was with my purchase, they made me feel satisfied with what I have purchased. And I want to thank them, specially their tech support, for that.
