"I ordered a "PC Tel Internal Fax PCI 56K V.92 Modem," which according to the site featured the "PC Tel Modem HSP Chipset (PCT1789)." The generic modem I received did not feature this chipset, but an inferior one that is not compatible with my operating system. Customer support claimed they sent the newest model from the factory. A lotta good that did me. (And what factory would that be, I wonder?) On top of that, the modem was poorly packed. RMA'ing and returning would have cost more than buying the proper modem from another retailer. At the very low price I would have tolerated a degree of poor service, if I had indeed got what I paid for."

Item should have shipped Monday, however I discovered Tuesday morning that my order did not ship because my shipping address was not found in the USPS database. (Address was a university/campus address which consisted of a room number and building name, followed by the university name, city, state, and zip code unique to the university itself. All mail sent to campus is addressed in this way and the post office knows how to deliver it.) After getting MANY busy signals and and having their telephone answering system tell me that each person I tried to contact was "busy, please call back" (and having to contact the owner of the business via contact information held with the Better Business Bureau) I confirmed my shipping address on Tuesday, April 20th, at 11:55am and was told the item would be shipped that same day. As if this was not enough I notice Thursday evening that my order had not yet shipped. I had to call them YET AGAIN and AGAIN had to wait through SEVERAL busy signals and their horrible telephone answering system (which, by the way, I was told by the owner of the company to just dial random extensions such as 100, 101, 102, etc to get through.) I was then told that no supervisor was available to talk to, however they could upgrade the shipping to USPS Priority Mail and guarantee that it would be delivered by Monday, April 26. The item did arrive April 26. POOR shipping system. POOR telephone answering system. POOR customer service. POOR overall experience. I will NOT be buying from them again."

Wrote an email to tech support, and they suggested that I chase Sony to claim a warranty.
Sony sent me back to them saying that the item that was shipped was OEM, and Acortech must be contacted for support.
I finally got them to assign me a RMA number so that I could get a refund.
But that's not all. Shipping the defective item back to them - I have to bear the cost. Even if the item is defective, they charge a 15% "restocking" fee. What are they going to re-stock? The defective item?

It was heartening to know that my comment on resellerratings.com rubbed a soft spot on acortech's customer service. No sooner than I posted the above comment, they immediately tried to reach me, and correct their folly.
