"This company's "customer service" couldn't find its assets with both hands. They're either utterly incompetent, or Nigerian scam artists, I'm still not sure.
Was looking to buy a certain DAW software package, Adorama had it listed for $20 cheaper than the developer's site. The listing said that it was a digital download and that the reg key would be sent once the order was processed (1-3 days) Here's what happened.
1/12 -- placed order
1/14 -- two days later, I had heard nothing, so I looked at my order status. "Backordered". Contacted CS via their live chat, and asked how a digital item could be backordered. "Bea M." ignored my question and said the item is out of stock, and that the manufacturer could dropship it to me if I wanted. I asked how they could "dropship" a digital download, and she said they'd send a tracking number when it was sent. "So they're sending a physical copy?" I asked. "Yes," was the reply. I asked for confirmation that the manufacturer would be handling my order, and she didn't understand what I meant, so I gave up.
1/16 -- I get an email from them saying that they've "sent multiple follow ups to the manufacturer and that they had not received the software from them yet". I replied and said, "I thought that it was being dropshipped directly?" "Paige C." replied and said that no, it was not being dropshipped, and that the order was currently being processed in Adorama's warehouse. She said there were no issues, all items are in stock, and she expected it to be shipped out today.
1/20 -- Another email from them apologizing for the delay. Still waiting for "the manufacturer to send the software to them" and that they've escalated the issue. I replied, saying that I was told it was in stock on 1/16 and that it was being shipped that day. Paige C replied again, saying that she was "sorry that I was confused". Then said that the warehouse was processing the order, there were no issues, all items are in stock, and that would be shipped by close of the current business day.
1/22 -- Has not been shipped, my order status still says "backordered". I cancel the order.
I should note that, since placing the order, I've been spammed with 3-4 emails from them every day urging me to go buy the item that I've already purchased.
Truly putrid. Deal with them at your own risk.
