I read their online shipping policy and understood it could take a few weeks to reach the shipping distribution center. On December 26th I received a n email from AM Trucking letting me know they had my order and that they would be contacting me in a couple of days to arrange delivery. On December 27th I received a phone call telling me the same thing.
I have yet to receive that call to arrange delivery.
I have called them multiple times.
1/2- Told my order was tentatively scheduled for delivery 1/5.
1/4- Told my delivery would not be delivered on 1/5 and was now tentatively scheduled for 1/11 because that’s when they would be delivering in my area.
1/10- Told my order was not going to be delivered on 1/10 and was now tentatively scheduled for 1/15 because that’s when they would be delivering in my area.
1/10- Per the President of AFA Stores, the estimated delivery date now is 1/16 OR 1/17.
I have called and emailed customer service multiple times and just get the run around. Mary, via email , has suggested a couple of times I call the trucking company myself.
Have been told multiple times when calling customer service that the trucking company will deliver as soon as they can.
Not once has anyone apologized to me for the fact I placed my order on November the 25th and have yet to receive my order.
Customer service is doing zero to help. They just email the trucking company, get a new estimated date and then kick the can down the road a couple of days."

"In September I purchased a dresser and nightstand from AFA furniture. The order was originally to be delivered in early November. Suddenly on Friday 10/20, I received an email and text to confirm they would deliver it on Monday 10/23 2pm-6pm. That Monday was my first day at a new job, I would not be home until 5:30. I called and tried to have the furniture delivered later that day or on Wednesday-Friday when a family member would be available all day to receive it. However, I was told that they were not able to do this. Monday and Tuesday 2pm-6pm was the ONLY delivery window available.
I finally arranged for the delivery to be done on Tuesday 10/24. Because of the 2pm-6pm window, I had to arrange two separate family members to be at my home during different times they were available in the delivery window from 2-6pm. My mother was there from 2-3:30 until my boyfriend could arrive at my house.
Upon delivery at approximately 5pm, the movers immediately tried to leave the furniture in my living room, they told my boyfriend it was supposed to be dropped off inside the front door. My boyfriend had to show the delivery men on the order delivery slip that it was indeed ordered to the room of choice. I paid $50 extra to have the delivery to the room of my choice because the furniture is very heavy. After my boyfriend convinced the moving men that the furniture had been ordered to go upstairs, they were unable to carry it up. The 2 delivery men were a young man around age 18-20 and an older man in his 50's. They used no equipment. The dresser I ordered is 223 lbs, it clearly needed the appropriate manpower to transfer it up a flight of stairs. After the men were unsuccessful at moving the furniture upstairs, they tried to leave it in my living room. At that time I arrived home and contacted the delivery company. I tried calling AFA but you were closed. I refused the items because of the incomplete delivery.
On 10/25 I spoke to a AFA customer service rep. I told him about the situation and that I wanted to return the furniture. The whole situation had been very stressful. He said I had to pay a 10% restocking fee which I was fine with, he then said that I would also have to pay for the return shipping that would be approximately $650. The total for the return would be in $700-$800 (I don’t know the exact number he gave me). He recommended trying to deliver the furniture again. I told him that they would need more manpower to get the dresser to the second floor. He responded that the delivery company would bring a third man (something I learned that the delivery company decides, not AFA) and deliver it at a time that worked for my schedule (again, not something AFA has anything to do with). He was just appeasing me with false information to convince me that the second delivery attempt would be successful. Finally I asked what would happen if they could not get the dresser to the second floor. He responded that they could leave it on the bottom floor. I reminded him that I paid extra to have the furniture delivered to the room of my choice since I have no way of getting it to the second floor myself. At this point he pretty much said that that was my problem, I should know the weight and dimensions at the time of purchase.
If your delivery company can’t lift the 223 lb dresser how can I do it? If AFA sells heavy furniture, then the delivery company should be capable of completing their end of the bargain by delivering it to my room of choice. I told him that if AFA were not responsible for their products and I was charged more that 50% of the original cost to return it, I would contact the BBB. The representative then laughed at me. I repeatedly asked what would happen if the delivery could not be carried upstairs. He would not give me an answer.
On 10/26 I received a text and email that another delivery attempt would take place on Monday 10/30 at 2pm-6pm. I called AM and told them I was not available that day and they said they would reschedule. I asked if they ever send out 3 men for delivery and she said it’s usually two. I feel that AFA did not contact AM transport about my situation because there was no change in the delivery window or manpower on AM transport’s end.
Throughout this experience, I’ve felt that if I did not advocate for myself regarding my purchase, AFA and AM Transportation would be fine with dumping this large dresser on my front yard. This furniture is not cheap, and I would expect better customer service because of this. This has been especially stressful because I literally just started a new career as a new nurse practitioner in a new practice. This furniture situation is all I can think about.
Please help me figure out the best way to resolve this situation.
