"Agoda are a total rip-off - they are either totally incompetent or scammers!
I recently booked a 'single room with a shared bathroom' in a 'hostel' in New York only to be given a bed in a dirty kitchen(!) with two other strangers. It was so bad that I left after one night and the owner made money from me without providing any service.
Agoda customer service did everything to AVOID being held responsible and refused giving me a refund.
Once they have your money, they don't care about you."

This is about my personal experience from last week.
I'd gone for a trip to Dapoli beach last Friday and I had booked a hotel through agoda
We were almost 8 to 10 people. We saw the pictures on agoda and they were very clear. Everything looked super cool.
We left around 6am and reached by 12pm to 1.
Due to a long travel everyone was exhausted!
As it was afternoon time we had our lunch first and went to the hotel room.
The name of the property is Rohan 2Bhk at harnai.
These people did scam with us. The review were fake the property was 15km away from the main road.
They said beach was 5km away but it was 23km away. The property was on hill top with no water or reception at all.
It was completely isolated area, we left from there and booked a new hotel near by murud beach.
Upon complaining to agoda they refused to listen to our story and started to speak in owners favour.
Owners refused to refund our money where in we didn't even stay at the property. #Rohan2bhk
After sending few documents agoda said we will give you refund we spent somewhere around $20 USD and they offered us $5 USD.
To which I refused as it was not even half of what we spent.
agoda is not verifying the properties with the vendors. Which caused inconvenience to the customer.
Forger about the money in case of emergency with no water or reception one would face so many difficulties.
Note: Do not book Rohan2bhk at harnai it's not good it is located on top of the hill with no good roads and services.

"I recently paid for six nights to Agoda for my booking at the hotel. The hotel couldn't give me parking for my pickup truck. It was a easy solution that the hotel just refund me my money. The hotel said I had to contact Agoda because I paid them prior to coming to the hotel. The hotel said it sent Agoda a request for refund but it was a big lie. Agoda didn't refund me my 6 nights because the hotel didn't approve the refund. It's so easy for the hotel to lie to you and appease you. All along Agoda didn't refund me or take me seriously. It's like a credit collector we have your money so there's no more to be said. I will use Agoda as a seach engine and pay directly with the hotel for future bookings. Acting as a third party on your behalf isn't going to cut the cut and help you if you have any problems with the hotel. The win win is for the hotel and Agoda, so why pay Agoda. "
"I booked through Agoda for a two queen bedroom and once I arrived I was in a king. I was to split this room with a male co-worker, but now the co-worker could not stay with me and we both had to leave as I still owed resort fees on top of the full price $700 I paid. My coworker could not pay me the split plus get another room, it was a mess.
I contacted Agoda as the hotel was completely sold out and I could not afford the king on my own. I have yet to have any assistance or any sort of refund due to their error. I have sent screenshots and their CS has only said that the hotel does not offer a 2 standard bed... which technically is correct, its a 2 queen and that it what was booked on Agoda.com. Agoda's title called it a "standard double room" but in the description is said 2 queen beds, garden view, etc. So that is what we booked..
There is zero accountability. Beware!"

I booked on Agoda a fully refundable stay with no payment to be made at the property until check-in day. FALSE.
Meanwhile, I have received an email from the property that my full payment must be made by email directly to the property, 2 weeks before check-in, or the reservation will be cancelled.
I called Agoda who confirmed that directions from the hotel need to be followed, although the confirmation email received from Agoda is completely contradictory with the hotel directions.
If I pay the hotel separately, I have the feeling that I am going to end up being double charged since I also gave my credit card to Agoda. Never again, will I use Agoda."

Booked a hotel room at Boracay Oceans Club Beach Resort through Agoda for July 05-09 travel. Paid using my CC on April 28 for the total amount of $561.99 - the advertised room rate was $119. I initiated a cancellation fee waiver on April 29-30 and sent an email to both Agoda and the resort. The cancelation was due to medical reasons and the cancelation of people in my group.
Two days after, Agoda sent an email stating that the RESORT DENIED MY WAIVER and that I will be charged 1 night if I cancel. I canceled and got charged $140 instead of the $119 original room rate. A day later, the resort emailed me stating to process my cancellation through Agoda and they will approve the full refund. The reservation was a day old from booking to cancelation. I do not think the cancelation incurred a loss on both the site and the resort.
Long story short, Agoda made up the story that the resort DENIED my waiver and the resort claimed that they were never asked and contacted by Agoda about the matter.
Beware of this untrustworthy site. They would lie to make a quick buck. There are plenty of online booking sites to choose from, stay away from this one.

"I booked a Qatar airways flight with Agoda in March of 2021 (the flight was scheduled to depart end of August 2021). The flight got cancelled by Qatar, and the new itinerary didn't suit me, so I asked Agoda to cancel the booking (end of June 2021). Qatar's policy allows refunds until 24h before the flight and so I was well in time with my cancellation. But since June, 6 months have passed and I still haven't got my refund. Agoda keeps blaming the airline for the delay and the customer service is useless."

"I have booked a stay through Agoda on the facility Riverside Namba 800 Osaka. Based on Agoda rating, it was written as 9.2 excellent. So I go ahead to book the room.
Upon reaching the facility, the place is so bad, no security, insufficient hot water for shower and unpowered AC that can never heat up the room.
Then I went to Agoda site to take a look at the facility again. After I clicked on the detail rating, all the individual ratings are rated 6 but Agoda final rating is 9.2. (I have saved the picture as proof)
I confronted Agoda to ask for refund and change of hotel. 3 staff called and none can resolve my problem. Each of them asked me the same questions evwn after I have send them the documents to show both false rating and poor facility.
Never trust the site "verified" ratings. I will never use Agoda again. Book through Agoda at your own risk!!

"Booked a room at 120. per night. Room was not prepared for a stay, bed sheets not all there on one bed, other not set up issues along with the bath tub having a broken plug sitting on the side. The hotel offered a small 25% discount for the inconvenience, but I needed to contact Agoda to process it. I talked to Agoda customer support and tried to resolve the issue because I had to stay somewhere else that night. They assured me the room was ready and available for me, but no room was reserved. The hotel told me they had been booked all day long, and there were no rooms available when I placed the reservation I told I got a the same information. The hotel told me that there was never any vacancy for that day. They chargeedmy card so I filed a dispute and they have continued to argue with the credit card company.
