"I have been pleased with my recent purchase of an alienware m15x system. I was treated with the utmost care and professionalism. All the employees i talked to were well educated ad helped me greatly through the payment procedure. I am very happy with my system and it runs like a camp meeting and exceeding my expectations by far. This was by far the best experiece buying a computer I have ever had out of the ten or so computer purchases I have ever made. I highly recommend alienware and they truy back their product and care about the personal experience."

"This was a very easy ordering process, overall i am very satisfied with my experince so far, as i have only had my laptop for three weeks. the only thing that was complicated was the financing they had sent me a letter stating that the had tried to contact me but i had never recieved any kind a phone call considering i am home all day and work all night. they even shipped my order early all be it a day but a day is a day. everything arrived as was ordered and worked out of the box."

"This is my family's third Alienware computer, it is the m9750 Aurora in Conspiracy Blue. This particular one was sold as "Alienware Refurbished" but you cannot tell it is not brand new. There is not a scratch on it, and even when booted up, the Operating system prompted us through all of the usual setup instructions you only get with a new sytem. I am very pleased by the appearance, the superb communication both before and AFTER the sale from Alienware, the fast shipping and look forward to years of high-performance gaming computing with this one. As I said to my son who this was a gift for, when we opened the box up: there is nothing on the planet like Alienware. Nothing! Keep up the good work, folks!"

"I purchased a refurbished Alienware Aurora M9700. I think it is actually New Old Stock because it is in new condition. There isn't a scratch or chip on it anywhere and no dead pixels in the 17" screen. I loaded up all my personal software with no trouble at all. It is very fast and the graphics look better than my desktop sysyem. It is a very solid and well built laptop computer. They shipped it quickly and sent me a tracking number so I would know when it would be delivered. I would definitely buy from Alienware again. "

There were no delays with the shipping of the backpack, I received the item before the scheduled date.

The backpack was shipped in a perfect box (flat black rules !!!!!!).

"Alienware is amazing..
There were no delays with the building process actually I received the computer before the scheduled date

the box it was shipped in looked like it went through a tornado but everything inside was just fine.

everything was ready to go right out of the box..
did receive an error the first time it logged on but it went away after the first restart..

the computer I ordered was m17x
the notebook is BEAUTIFUL
very close to perfection

impresses EVERYONE..

I went into satellite coffee.. same thing as starbucks just bigger.. and SO many people were looking at it...

"Overall I am somewhat to fairly satisfied with my alienware purchase experience. There are a couple of important issues that will make me hesitate to order a system from them again.

1) When I talked to the sales staff, they were not thouroughly knowledgeable about the technical aspects of the system. I wanted to know how many slots would be left useably open on the mobo with 2 vid cards installed SLI. The person (Andrea) was very friendly, and tried to help out, but could only refer me to the tech spec page, and repeat the info there to me. This was basically the total # of slots (5 or 7, something like that) minus the 2 slots for the vid cards-- misleading one to believe that there would be at least 3 or 4 slots left. Well, there is only one useable slot left, because the vid cards take up 2 slots each, due to their size. Turns out I don't need the slot, the onboard sound is ok (I use a digirack for professional quality music recording), and there are enough ports so I don't need my firewire card. (btw, esata would be nice, but I knew about that when I bought the system).

2) The second issue was also a case of being mislead. I was concerned about the noise level of the system, since in addition to gaming, I use it for music recording, which obviously requires a very low noise floor. They claimed, repeatedly, that it would be "whisper quiet." Their exact words. It is not. I didn't bother with the sound insulation option, because why bother if it is going to be "whisper quiet"? When I called to see if there was a way to regulate the fan noise, the support guys first tactic was to talk me out of doing anything. Finally he directed me to the speedfan and nvidia monitor utilities (after a lot of pressure on my part), but he was no help in figuring out how to use them-- and I still have not done so. I may end up having to purchase a separate system for recording, because of the noise level-- mind you, it is perfectly acceptable for other applications, and it is not terribly annoying, but it is pretty loud, and no good for music recording.

3) Shipping. They were about a few days or a week beyond their estimated ship date. I don't mind this too much, but there was no attempt to inform me of the delay, and when I emailed customer service, I got an automated email response that it would be 48 to 72 hours before I would receive an actual response to my question! No way, that is just crappy service, in my opinion. So I called, and got a bit of a runaround. However, when it did finally ship, it arrived quickly. Nevertheless, it was somewhat difficult to set up delivery with UPS, because they use the cheapest version (UPS said if it was shipped at a higher level, I could have picked it up from a closer location). Fortunately, I was able to intercept the UPS guy buy leaving work a few times and driving by the house, which was a hassle. Tried to have it redirected to work address, but, again, it costs extra money to do that, and the shipping is already a whopping $100. That ought to cover any eventuality, really. I know the system is heavy, but it was similar to having a piece of furniture shipped-- no call ahead, no ability to pick it up at the ups place after 5pm, etc.

The system itself works great, very fast, neatly wired, no boot-up, software or driver issues, so kudos for that; that is no small thing, and I do appreciate it.

As far as benchmarks, I haven't analyzed the numbers they sent, but based on the hardware, I am sure it is pretty efficient. Getting good framerates in games, including quake, hl2, wow, bioshock.

To sum it up: people at AW are very nice, could be a bit more technically savvy (in the sales area at least) and bit more honest (about the noise, for example). Use a realistic shipping date to manage customer expectations. Get a better deal on shiping -- for $100 charge, I did not get $100 treatment. System is A+ (though noisy), no software issues is also +++.

Now that I know the company, I might purchase again in the future, but not for music recording applications-- be fine for graphics or gaming.

"Thus far I have no complaints. I was kept informed as to status, and received a working computer. The process has been care free so far.

My previous effort, with a different vendor, resulted in months of run around and a computer sent back, costing me 500 dollars for nothing after the dust settled.

Alienware has been gold by comparison.

"Alienware makes great machines, but their customer service could stand a few notches of improvement. Here is my experience.

I ordered my laptop on May 26. It was shipped to my workplace, but apparently a shipping error occurred (I don't know on who's end) and it was shipped back. I called Alienware to find out where it was, and the person told me my machine was sitting in their warehouse. I have no idea why they would not notify me it was sent back and sitting there.

In any case, over the next week and a half I spoke with 4 different people. All 4 of them gave me different dates as to when it would be shipped. And here's the clincher - they told me it would be "shipped" on specific dates, but they ALL failed to tell me that just means it's sent to their shipping department to be sent with fedex. So basically I had to wait additional days AFTER the date they said it would be shipped for the machine to actually get shipped.

All in all, to make an already long story short, it took almost 5 weeks to get my machine when I should have had it in 2 to 3 max.

As far as the customer service, the people are friendly and willing to help and never rude. HOWEVER, it's VERY difficult to get things done because you end up being transferred around and placed on hold for 10-15 minutes at at time. I spent over 10 cumulative hours on the phone with them after my order was already placed. VERY frustrating!!! I'm getting angry now just thinking about how frustrating it was back then. I dread the day I have to phone technical support because of a laptop issue...

The machine is great, I'll give them that. I just don't think I will wind up spending another $2500 on their customer service. I'd rather build my own CHEAPER machine (with the same specs) and not spend the extra hours dealing with customer service.

"My computer was built and shipped incredibly fast. The only thing was that there was a part out of stock, but once that came in it was shipped almost immediately. It came here way before I expected it, and it was perfectly ready to go. I use it as much as humanly possible and have yet to encounter ANY problems. I urge anyone thinking about buying an Alienware to do so, you won't regret it."
