"Allegromedical.com is the ABSOLUTE WORST company to do business with. They messed up the shipping on 2 out of my 3 orders. I order supplies for multiple clinics monthly and was looking to try a new company. My orders all got shipped to the wrong clinics, and if that wasn't bad enough, half of one order showed up at one clinic (the wrong one mind you) and the other half showed up at company headquarters which was never selected as a shipping address ONLY a billing address.
When I called customer service to get a handle on the situation I was told that since the orders had already been delivered that it was out of their hands (even though they were all to wrong addresses!). And that on top of the $30 for expedited shipping I paid Allegromedical.com I would now be responsible for shipping all my items to their respective clinics in different cities on my own dime. They offered no apology and no solution for rectifying the problem. When I asked to speak with a manager I was told she was busy taking other calls but that the service representative could "take down my information". I am yet to hear from her supervisor.
Long story short, save your time AND money and order from ANYONE else. I am going back to Vitality Medical. I will NEVER order from Allegro Medical for ANY of my clinics medical supply needs again."

"4-9-13: Placed order for small item. Paid $8.95 for 3-5 day shipping.
4-9-13: Received reply email from Allegro. They stated: "We wanted to let you know that we received your order and it is being processed. As items are shipped, we will email you a shipping confirmation. In-stock orders typically leave the warehouse within 2 business days. Please allow an additional 4 to 7 business days for standard delivery."
That implies to me that delivery could be up to 9 days from time of order (not the 3-5 implied at time or order).
4-9-13: I sent a follow-up email challenging their 3-5 vs. 2-9 days.
4-10-13: Received from Allegro: "The orders usually ship in 1-3 days then its 3-5 days after to receive. To receive the order it is between 4-7 days including the shipping time."
4-18-13: (9 days after order placed). I contacted Allegro to get status on my order (the link they had provided in an email did not work). After several minutes on hold, I was told that the vendor did not receive my order and that Allegro would resend it to them. The vendor was blamed for the error. When asked if there was a process in place for Allegro to follow up with suppliers to confirm that orders were being fulfilled, I was told by customer service that such checks occur only on a monthly basis. Since I needed the item before it could possibly be shipped with the re-issue of the original order, I cancelled the order. I sent an email to Allegro stating my disappointment and suggested they pursue incorporating an order fulfillment confirmation process.
4-18-13: Later the same day of my phone call, I received from Allegro via email: "...We are sorry to inform you that the item(s) you ordered has been automatically canceled. We have been unable to secure the item(s)from our vendor. Your credit card has not been billed." Automatic? I don't think so; it was I who cancelled the order. "Unable to secure"?...based on discussion with Allegro customer service earlier in the day it was due to an error in the order being properly placed with their vendor.
My Opinion/Analysis:
- I placed the order with Allegro, so it's their responsibility (NOT a 3rd party vendor) to assure orders are being fulfilled according to their claims.
- Allegro should clearly state during your ordering process that you should expect up to 4 days longer to receive an order than the 3-5 days claimed for their standard shipping option. At $8.95, I would expect that this item, which could have been sent in a small envelope, should have been able to be processed and shipped much faster than the 9 days. Maybe it's in the fine print somewhere via links, but it should be clearly stated on the ordering pages.
- Much Ado About Nothing? For items you need in the time frame promised by Allegro, the good prices of Allegro are not worth the aggravation of an inefficient order fulfillment process. If I had not called them, I'd most likely still be waiting for a shipment that was never going to arrive. Make your own decision, however I will be pursuing the many other online options for medical suppliers, even if the cost is slightly higher.
