"I was initially concerned about a mini-split as some AC guys don't recommend them... but I think that is because they want to sell their own equipment. But Alpine had such good reviews and I had the need for a new system in a one room rental space. I called some local AC guys who had experience with them and liked them so ordered the unit and it arrived 2 or 3 days later. I had an AC company install it and so far I am quite please. The weather is pretty good now so it may take a while before I can fully utilize it but I hope it is the perfect fit. The only concern I have is securing the outdoor unit. It was place on a small pad but it could be stolen easily. So I am going to see about installing a cage around it. "

"The shipment was great. I purchased two Blueridge PTACs. They came well packaged on a pallet, no freight damage, and in less time than specified. All the parts were there.
I was a bit dubious, never having heard of the blueridge brand, but it was explained to me that they are the "store brand" of Alpine. They installed well and work fine so far. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they are made Taiwan. The instructions were in very clear English. They have only been running for a couple of days, but so far I am a very happy customer.
PS: the sleeves are some assembly required. Other ones I have purchased in the past come preassembled, which no doubt makes shipping more expensive to ship, but the Blueridge sleeves are well made and heavy gauge steel with foam insulation, different than what i have had from other manufacturers but nice quality units."
