"Slow to process order. When order was processed 5 days later, my in stock item, computer case, was no longer in stock. I was contacted through e-mail about a possible replacement case. The replacement was cheaper. I requested a refund of the price difference and accepted the substitute case. It is now Oct. 29th, 9 days after the initial order, and I finally recieved an email that the item was shipped yesterday afternoon. What angers me most is that I made two orders on Oct. 20th., one from TigerDirect and one from Amamax, with all items listed as in stock at time of order. My TigerDirect shipment arrived Oct. 22nd. My Amamax order finally shipped Oct. 28th and isn't scheduled to arrive until Nov. 2nd. Meanwhile I've taken a setback to my thesis work while my computer is down. My final thoughts, what deals Amamax has in pricing is overshadowed by their poor customer service. I should have spent another $20 and ordered my case from TigerDirect."

Well, you kind of missed the mark on that one.... let me illustrate why:
Here is a summary of my recent shopping experience trying to buy a Geforce4 TI4200 graphics card:
Purchase date: 9/12
Product received in mail: 9/22
Product was tested and found to be defective
Email I sent requesting RMA: 9/23
Response w/ RMA# received: 9/25
Returned Product via regular shipping: 9/26
I sent a followup email for status update: 10/10 - no response
I sent a 2nd followup email requesting the status of my RMA: 10/20 - no response
refund issued minus 15% restocking fee - 10/24
The product was defective when i received it... here is their policy on their own restocking fee:
15% Restocking Fee – 15% restocking fee applies to all refunds. We do this to insure that people order what they need, and by reducing overhead associated with perfectly good returns...
So they obiviously felt that I had 'ordered something that I didn't need' and assumed no responsibility for their product not working properly. If the thing had worked when I took it out of the box trust me I would have kept it. It certainly should not fall under the 'perfectly good return' category, if you re-package that and sell it to someone else you are in for another bad experience.
So for the pleasure of doing business with these esteemed gentlemen I had to pay $5 to ship them back their defective card and take a $15 hit in the ass on their restocking fee, and wait over a month for them to get around to doing it. If I thought it would do any good I would try and send in a letter of complaint to their customer care, but nobody seems to be too overly concerned over there. I was unable to talk to an actual person any of the 6 times I tried calling their #, on different days.
I for one will not be a return customer, and would recommend anyone else to order from a more reliable site."
"I ordered a POWMAX205C case, after searching through pricewatch. The case was exactly what I wanted and the free shipping came in about a week. I was so pleased that I ordered another case for another friend. The case also arrived in a week. When I opened the box I immediately noticed the front bezel was broken, but the shipping box was not damaged. I sent in a request for a RMA# and got it the next day. This has been close to a month now. I have emailed the three times to no avail, I have called them three times and only get a answering machine that I left messages on. I had to buy a case locally because my customer couldn't wait any longer. I have since filed a complaint with the Houston TX BBB and hope they can get me some results. I have also asked through email that I get a refund now instead of a replacement, I don't need the case anymore."

1. An Internet based company should know how to file a web claim, UPS responds within a few hours.
2. Customer does not have to wait for claim resolution for something that is not his/her fault to get his order straight.
3. A decent company does not lie and does respond emails.
2 weeks wait for response/credit my money, and 3.5 weeks wait for case.
Still waiting...
Avoid--very nasty guys to deal with.

After 3 cancelation requests:
Oct 21 (~a month after initial order) email from Amamax that the order has been shipped. They kindly provided me with "tracking number" the exact same tracking # as for the case RETURNED to Amamax's hands on Oct 6, 03. What a joke company. That's not all: received refund -$4.80. Advertised free shipping so it can't a S/H fee, no answer to my request what is the $4.80 for, perhaps for safeguarding my money for more than a month...
Avoid at all costs, you were warned."
"I ordered a case from Amamax because of the price. It is a very nice case, HOWEVER, when I received it the window was scuffed. It looks like it is scuffed from the factory so it is not (directly) my fault, it is not Amamax's fault, and it is not Fedex's fault.
But, I do expect Amamax to make an effort to satisfy me because I ordered a new case with no imperfections and I get a case that is imperfect. I tried emailing tech and the email was RETURNED. I tried calling and it just kept ringing. I finally emailed sales and the email was not returned. I've not yet gotten a response though!
Overall the prices and products can't be beat, but cross your fingers and hope that you get it okay.. it seems there is no customer service.
I'll probably have to dispute the order to get their attention. It is a pity a lot of online companies are like this."

So far so good, Ordered on the 14th (after hours) of October. I've already got a tracking number and its due for the 21. So im a bit surprised at the negative reviews concerning shipping. Especially free shipping :) If your like me and order from various companys that can add up fast. I see that Amamax is posting responses so thats a good sign that they are listening to there customers and trying to improve.
I ordered a very nice looking case for an excellent price, The catch i noticed was the add ons like the Blue Cold Cathode fans . I found the exact same thing they were trying to sell me for 20.00 for 4.95 at xoxide.com
One thing i would like to see improved, I like very detailed discriptions on what exactly it is im ordering. If a case comes with a power supply exactly what brand and some specs.
So far they have my recomendation. They have some excellent deals some stuff and are overpriced on a few others just as with any company.

"I ordered a Geforce 4 Ti 4200 AGP 8x from these people (on the third) and the item arrived on the 14th of October. It was the right box but the wrong item, They sent me a Geforce 4 Mx440SE a far inferior video card in a G4 TI 4200 box. It appeared that they simply grabbed a box of off a shelf a card out of another bin and sent it off to me, heck the card didnt even come close to matching the plastic molding for it in the box, make it fit huh?.
I am currently waiting for a return shipping label. This is pretty decent of them and they responded to my request fairly quickly. After reviewing this website I am a little nervous about ordering the TI4200 from them at all. A half dozen reviews on here stating that it burned out on them after a couple of months but the card has an overall great reputation.
Now wondering about how long this is going to take. Needed the card at the very very latest by the 24th and its the 16th....other reviews dont leave me with high hopes.

to this point I have filled out the online RMA form 2 times emailed the RMA department 2 times and called 13 times (messages left on voicemail)(once I got a live person in the customer service department who said the RMA department was at lunch (1050) called back an hour later still at lunch , an hour after that, still at lunch....hmmmmmm I have recieved no response to RMA request from RMA department in the week since request filed. Tracking department only ones to answer emails. Buyer take this for what its worth...

"I found Amamax via Pricewatch and the information was consistent -- same price, same free delivery, which is nice and not so common on Pricewatch listing.
The free shipping via Fedex Ground took 7 days (from TX to CA!) instead of the 1-5 advertised. Unfortunately not surprising and nothing Amamax is responsible for.
Right after placing my order I sent an email to the support asking for details and notification. I never actually received a reply; instead 2 days later I directly received the Fedex tracking info by email.
Overall it's a good experience (the right item in good shape, works just nice) yet I'm not sure about their customer support."
"Disappointed. I ordered a power supply from them on Wednesday afternoon, got the tracking number next Tuesday. I was sent a link that's suppose to track my package at UPS, but ended up that the link is wrong, and later I found out that it's actually being shipped by FedEx. That Friday, when the package was suppose to arrive, it didn't. So I went online to track my package again just to realize that it said incorrect address. Checked amamax website again, it did have my correct address. It was 3pm, and I tried to call amamax, but after a few mins of ringing and nobody picked up the phone, I hange up and called FedEx instead, it turned out that they didn't get the apartment number, which I did give to amamax, and it is on the amamax website. Now, I have to wait till next monday to get it. Nearly two weeks to get a package from Texas to Los Angeles is quite a long time, plus I had to go through quite a bit of trouble just to get it. Disappointed."
"Purchased a computer case from them. It arrived without any motherboard standoff screws (kind of hard to mount the motherboard without them). Sent an email on 9/29/2003 requesting that they be sent to me, still no reply to my email.
The case also arrived damaged, but I guess that is "my fault" (as they have alluded to below) because I didn't pay the extra $3 for additional packing materials. Word of advise, raise the prices on all your cases $3 and give everyone the extra packing materials. I would have purchased the same case for $30 or $33, but when you break it down, it looks less appealing.
Yeah, probably won't buy from these guys again as right now I have a case, but no way to put a motherboard into it.
Update 10-16-2003: Finally received a return email and received what was suppose to be the missing motherboard standoffs, but it was not for the case that I ordered. I gave them all the information (order number, product number etc) and they still managed to mess this up. I give up. I am going to take the standoffs I have (which are a little too small), some JB Weld and make it work my way. Waiting on this company to get it act together could take years."
"My order took 9 days to arrive, when it arrived my computer case was damage. I then proceeded to contact them via e-mail and all my emails kept returning delivery failure notification, Amamax system was down and could not received emails regarding RMA# (strange). Finally I contacted the administrative office of Amamax and they replied to my email on August 19 explaining the problems they were experiencing with emails. The RMA department contacted me on 8/25/03 letting me know that a claim for replacement was filed. Well today is 9/25/03 and after sending them numerous emails and not getting any response I've given up on AMAMAX poor customer service and consumer fraud.
Today is 10/23/03 and still no word from AMAMAX."
"I purchased from Amamax a very cheap and good looking computer case on 8/31. Around 9/10 I got a little worried because I hadn't received a tracking number and the section of their website I read said you should email them in 3 business days if you hadn't received it yet. Well 3 days later they sent me a tracking number on 9/13! I was very happy to have gotten a reply so quickly. I think it helps coming into buying it without high expectations on fast shipping. 2 weeks to ship isn't very bad for a busy company I think. The case came in good condition and well secured. I would definately shop here again, but probably email them in 3 days next time like I was supposed to and maybe even get my case in a week! " I ordered a case and power supply at a great price with the Free Shipping option. It came less than a week later (5 business days), which I thought was great considering the shipping didn't cost me a dime, and it says to expect 5-7 days shipping on their site when you order. I guess a lot of people here don't see that or something because of all the complaints about slow delivery time. It's free shipping so you can't really complain. If you want overnight or 2 day delivery, then pay for it. I also thought it was nice that even though I didn't add the option or pay for an extra box, the case came inside a 2nd box and was in perfect shape. I'll have no qualms about ordering from Amamax again, and probably will be in a day or 2 in fact, to purchase a lot of the other components I need to finish up the pc. "
