Prime is a rip-off, stealing from customers.

"Vast number of failed Prime delivery windows. Customer service lies about reasons for failed deliveries constantly. I’ve been told it’s in the truck, driver will be there by 9pm, driver is 4 stops away! Item never delivered. Emails sent to CEO have had no impact. Amazon’s revenue for Prime is staggering. Amazon has no true investment in ensuring Prime commitments to customers. They want your money. They have become to big to manage their delivery system. Go Ebay!"

"The customer service in AMAZOOOON is horrible, I was trying to open a sellers account they ask you to EMAIL the driver's license, passport, bank account, that is good they have to control who is selling in AMAZOOON but you send all that and three days later they send you an EMAIL saying they couldn't see it. I did this four-time then they ask you for more paper we send the corporation, certificate of sale, resale tax, w9 form then they send me an EMAIL to open the company account in the UK why the H__L I want an account in the UK. we EMAIL them back and I told them we don't want to open any company in the UK. Then they send a link to contact us again about this issue, use the Contact Us form in Seller Central using the following link:
https://sellercentral.amazon.com/cu/case-dashboard/view-case?caseID=***-***-**** for more all I ask them if they want me to get a DNA BLOOD SAMPLE from Ancestry and send it to AMAZOOOON they don't have a contact phone number to resolve this stupid problem but they charge the credit card for the seller account I original try to open. I have an account with AMAZOOOON for the past years is not a new Account.

From "great" to "in the toilet" in three months

"The most impressive thing about Amazon.com used to be its unparalleled customer service. That's the key thing that has kept me a member for 15 years and a Prime member for the last several years.

I'm not sure what changed, or why it changed, but since August 2019 that customer service has taken a nose-dive right into the toilet.

In 15 years I've only had a handful of Amazon purchases go awry, and in every case I was able to shoot an email to customer service, and within 72 hours Amazon had made good, either by issuing a refund or over-nighting a replacement order at no extra charge.

Apparently those days are gone. Beginning this past summer the email contact option went away. Also, you can no longer call Amazon directly about an order issue. The only form of contacts left are on-line "chat", or you can leave them a message and ask THEM to call YOU, at their convenience.

Right off the bat this is Amazon telling us that THEIR time is more valuable than OUR time.

With email, I could make a report, and check for replies at my convenience. With "chat" I have to sit by the computer and interact with an Amazon chat person, sometimes for half an hour or more. In the past 3 months my experience has been that the person you chat with is never able to help you with your issue, without "escalating" your case 2 or 3 times, meaning you get shuffled from one chat-person to the next several times in every chat -- and you get to retell your story 3 or 4 times.

Did I mention that before you even get to a chat \person\, you first have to play 20 questions with the chat 'bot?

The phone situation is even more ridiculous. You used to be able to dial an actual customer service rep. Now you call in a request for them to call you back -- and they return your call, once again, at THEIR convenience, not yours.

Even all this might be tolerable had Amazon maintained the same level of service they used to have. Unfortunately, that also seems to be gone with the wind.

Recently I ordered a dozen items in a single order which, for reasons best known to Amazon, was split into two shipments. One was sent by UPS, and arrived 2 days later without incident. The other was shipped by USPS and never arrived. On the third day I contacted Amazon "chat" about the missing shipment and was told that it had "been delivered on Wednesday (the day before). It hadn't.

Amazon chat advised me to wait another day, and then contact them again if the shipment still hadn't arrived. I waited; it didn't, and I contacted Amazon again.

At this point, as recently as last July, customer service would have offered me my choice of a replacement shipment or a refund.
This time, I was told to "wait three business days, and contact us again if the shipment doesn't arrive."

I waited three more days; the shipment didn't arrive. I checked with USPS and they told me they had left the shipment "in your garage". I don't have a garage. I checked with neighbors up and down the street; none of them had seen the shipment.

So, I contacted Amazon chat again. I was told that I needed to wait three more business days and contact them again. I did this, and by this point I had waited 10 days for a "2-day shipping" Prime order, which still had not arrived.

Since there had been dated birthday items in the shipment, I told Amazon I no longer needed the items, and requested a refund.

They told that I -I- needed to initiate an investigation with the USPS, before they could issue a refund. Excuse me? -I- was not the shipper of those items; Amazon was the shipper. Seems like THEY were the one's who should have initiated the investigation.

So I said, "fine I'll initiate the investigation, and if you can't issue a refund until that's complete, then please send me a replacement order."

I was told they couldn't issue a refund OR a replacement until the results of the investigation were complete. If you have ever had to have the Post Office investigate a package that you mailed which got lost in the mail, you know such an investigation can take anywhere from several weeks to several months.

Everyone of these "chat" sessions lasted a half-hour or longer, and involved at least 4 different Amazon reps.

Meanwhile, the bottom line is, I ordered and PAID FOR $200 worth of goods from Amazon which they failed to deliver, and they will not make good on this order until -I- have the Post Office investigate what had to be either Amazon's or the Post Office's screw-up.

If someone makes a shipment which doesn't arrive, it is almost always considered the responsibility of the SHIPPER to investigate and make good on the shipment. Virtually every other on-line seller I use follows this protocol; Amazon used to, as well -- up to this past August.

Now it appears their customer service policy is, "we'll take your money, and screw you."

Very disappointing.

Used to be a good service, not any longer

"Used to be I’d place an order and have it within 2days. Lately I’ve experienced orders taking 4-5 days to fulfill and then shipped with Amazon Prime 2 day shipping. Amazon doesn’t care how long it takes to fulfill your order only that they ship it in 2 days. Once Apple come out with their TV service Prime will be useless. "

I would give Amazon Zero Stars if Possible

"In my opinion, based on personal experience and review of articles and publications, their customer service and ethics are appalling. How about these examples. Your package shows delivered but you didn't receive it ... Amazon tells you to ask your neighbors and any family members living at other addresses to see if they received your package ... You ordered and paid for an item, at a discounted price, and have not received it ... Amazon tells you that it was mistakenly sent to the wrong Amazon Hub and is no longer available, you need to cancel and reorder the item at the regular price; Your ordered and paid for an item and never received it ... Amazon states that your physical address of many years, at which you have received many deliveries as well as receive mail, doesn't exist; Ethically ... Amazon's pricing algorithm also steers customers to Amazon's own products, even if they are higher priced, and Amazon promotes its own products in merchant listings. While this might be best for Amazon, is it ethical to steer your customers toward paying more for the same thing? I could go on and on but there is no point. Since I have stopped buying from Amazon I have found better prices, along with much better service from virtually everyone else I have purchased from. While I never-say-never, I will say that it is very unlikely I will purchase anything from Amazon in the future ... I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU CONSIDER LOOKING AT OTHER RETAILERS, BOTH ONLINE AND RETAIL, AS YOU ARE LIKELY TO RECEIVE A BETTER PRICE AND MUCH BETTER SERVICE. Keep in mind that Amazon adds "zero value" to anything you purchase. Think about it ... perhaps, it is for this reason that their profits are so high. To make matters even worse, if you have their "Prime" service, as I did, you pay Amazon an "annual fee" for higher prices on many items and very poor customer service. Just my opinion for your consideration."

Put my account on hold then don’t refund my gift balance

"Amazon put my account on hold suddenly and never tell me the reason for that. I contacted them for many many times since my account on hold. They collect the information and say their account specialist will call me or email me in 24 hours, but I never receive any response. Their customer service is soooo poor, they are not patient to help and hang up the calls multiple times. My account has $200-$300 gift balance. I requested refund me gift balance, they told me they cannot do that. I want the gift balance back, release my account or not is up to them."

Slow Refund

"Two weeks ago I reported an unauthorized purchase on my credit card. Although they have stopped the delivery of the item and despite an email telling me that I would receive a refund on my card, I am still waiting. I have an item ID but neither .com or .ca seem to know what the item was or which division is to send the refund. The purchase was made on Amazon.com but they keep sending me back to the Canadian site. They do not know what they are doing and I'm still waiting for my reimbursement. Great to take your money but poor when resolving issues."

You Pay When Amazon.ca Makes Mistake with Vehicle Parts

"I ordered a brake kit for a Toyota from Amazon.ca. Amazon.ca sent a brake it for a Dodge.
The kit weights 79 pounds and Amazon expects me to lift this kit, drive to shipping company, and cover the $100 cost to ship it back.
Why should I break my back carrying this weight and in addition pay for the shipping when it was their mistake?
Horrible company that makes many by sending what they cannot sell.

Amazon will not let me dispute a third pary seller

"On or about September 5th of 2019, amazon informed me about a bank demanding payment from them for an item I disputed. I had been a good and happy customer with Amazon since 2004 and the dispute amount less that $5.00. Upon 'phoning about the problem at amazon, I was told unless the matter was settled by me dropping the dispute- my account might be on hold. The account representatives told me this by e-mail and 'phone along with their supervisor.
I am between a rock and a hard place with Amazon. I asked for help in writing but nothing has come.

Almost 100% Dependable; Rarely Any Problems.

"I have been an Amazon customer for many many years. I have been an Amazon Prime customer for almost 10 years. I make most of my online orders for many different products through Amazon. I rarely have problems with Amazon. When there is a timer which tells me how many hours and minutes I have left to order to receive products, I get them by the day indicated. Recently I completed an order within 2 minutes remaining and I received the order by the guaranteed day, within 40 hours. It was very fast.

One time I built a large 5 monitor, Intel i7, 16 GB computer system and I ordered most of the parts through Amazon and Newegg. See my YouTube video pwNJto6VWE8. I did not have any problems with either etailer. Amazon is the first etailer I visit should I need computer parts. I trust Amazon and Newegg to send me my computer parts intact and undamaged.

I prefer to order through Amazon because I have less problems with them. Last month I ordered a language set with a delicate plastic clamshell cover through one of Amazon's smaller sellers overseas. Even though it was overseas and required to cross the Atlantic, they packed it in a flimsy padded envelope, not a box. I would not have cared if they had used a used box. The clamshell case arrived smashed and pieces of plastic were falling out of the envelope because the envelope was also smashed. I constantly have this problem with the smaller sellers. If you order from Amazon's smaller sellers, make sure you request they pack your order in a box, not a padded envelope!

Sometimes I have this problem with Amazon. Occasionally I will receive books which have been damaged. I return them, with free return shipping, for a refund and order 3. I then pick the one in best condition and return the two worst. Amazon has not complained yet.

I like Amazon's Prime Video. I have replaced the lousy cable TV, with their umpteenth Cops and The Simpson's repeats, with Amazon Prime Video which is much more interesting and costs 1/12 as much. Amazon Prime Video now shows original content with their original shows such as Jack Ryan (excellent), The Expanse (excellent), Carnival Row (adult explicit), Goliath (excellent), Fleabag, Bosch (excellent), Hanna, Homecoming, Ordeal By Innocence, The Boys (explicit, raunchy **/5), King Lear (have not seen), Good Omens, The ABC Murders, and Britannia (excellent but bloody). Their free documentaries are OK. If you want better educational material, try TheGreatCourses or free YouTube.

They also have other free Amazon Prime shows such as Orphan Black which are excellent. There are a lot of free British shows also. One thing I don't like is how greedy the US studios are. Sometimes a rental for a US show season can be as much as $30 and US movie rental from $7 to $4. You can rent a Blu-Ray disc at Redbox for $2. Streaming doesn't even have a physical disc and most of the money goes to directly to the studio. When I saw a YouTube video channel about life in Beverly Hills, I realized why they are so expensive. A home in Beverly Hills costs $8M-$50M, the property tax costs $160K-$500K a year and they make us, the viewers pay for it. I have rarely, ever, paid $4 for a rental and refuse to. Usually the movies aren't even good enough for that price anyway.

Overall, Amazon is an excellent etailer and as long as they keep up their good work, I will order from them and recommend them.

Amazon Prime is the worst!

"I contacted Amazon Prime, about an item, that I ordered last Friday, and it was supposed to arrive today (Monday). According, to the tracking, it hadn't even been shipped yet. I went through eight, different representatives, in foreign countries, who refused to let me speak, to a representative, in the U.S. They gave me all kinds, of ridiculous excuses, like: 1) there wasn't a single, U.S. Amazon employee working, today, because it was a national holiday; 2) the whole, of the United States was being hit, by a hurricane; 3) they couldn't understand my name, even tho I've placed 100's, of previous orders, and nobody ever had a problem, before, etc. The more frustrated, that I became, the more all the workers, there, laughed. When I tried, to cancel the order, they told me, that it had gone, into the shipping process, while I was, on the phone, so I couldn't cancel, even though they couldn't give me an estimated, delivery date. This is Prime, that they charge me extra for, every month? I can't even imagine how bad regular service is. Amazon is the totally worst, that I've ever dealt with!"
