Their product selection is amazing; they have just about everything in stock and usually at the best price. I've probably been using this vendor for about five years now and have placed over twenty orders without hassle. Shipping is always prompt. I have never had to return anything so I cannot judge their exchange policy."
"Ordered the 2006 McAfee VirusScan and Firewall bundle. Absolute cheapest price out there at $47.99 plus FREE SHIPPING + $30 REBATE which will make this come to about $20 after taxes. I ordered on a Monday, received on Wednesday. The only thing that worried me was that while ordering, if I selected the paid shipping option, it said the order would ship the next day. If I selected the free shipping option, the system said it wouldn't ship until Oct 31...with a 5-9 day arrival window which would put the $30 rebate at jeopardy since you had to postmark it within 15 days of purchase. I thought that was bogus to do that to a customer (delay shipping) just because they selected a free shipping option. Regardless, it came to nothing because, like I said, I got it in 2 days. "
"I have bought only books and items which I knew for sure there was a little chance I would have to return it. I only bought items sold directly by Amazon.com, not by their partners. I always read the reviews, which were very fair and valuable, before making my purchase decisions. Books at Amazon.com were much competitively priced than Barns and Noble. I never paid sales tax, and shipping was often free (waiting for up to 2 weeks was OK if I could save the S&H cost.) I never had to return any items bought from Amazon.com so I did not have a chance to evaluate their customer service. I also gave a donation to the Asian tsunami and Katrina through Amazon.com (which let you have your donation back if you change your mind :). Highly recommended! Just be extremely careful when shopping online for high priced items."
"On October 16th I placed an order for several items (a cutting board, facial cleanser, a computer program and a compact disc) using several gift certificates I received from a loyalty program. The certificates were 4 for $25 each -- $100 in total.
I didn't bother checking up on the status of the order since I have ordered from Amazon in the past and never had a problem. I also received a CD from the Amazon Marketplace seller 3 days after I placed my order and I assumed the rest of the Amazon order would be along shortly.
When I didn't receive anything I attempted to track my order and could not log into my account. I called Amazon’s toll free support number and received a very rude representative. She was chewing on gum while on the phone and I had to repeat myself several times as it was clear she was not giving me her full attention. The representative said the billing information did not match my credit card. That is a false statement -- it does.
I never received an email or phone call from Amazon concerning the supposed problem my account and now my account has been deleted (unapologetically the representative said I had to start over and create a new one).
Even doing so the certificates are no longer valid.
I haven't shopped at Amazon’s site for a while and now I remember why. Their service is abysmal. Their failure to contact me regarding my order is unacceptable and the fact that they’ve left me in the position with $100 of my certificates invalidated will cause me to pursue further action from the California Attorney General's office if this situation is not rectified.
The representative on the phone wanted to replace my order, but I explained to her the rebates for some of the items I previously tried to purchase expired already so there is no point in replacing the order. I expect to be contacted at your earliest convenience to rectify this situation."
"I have been ordering books from Amazon.com since 2001. All I can say about Amazon is terriblely late shipping and unreachable customer service. I ordered two books on 10-16-05, and I paid for standard shipping (3-5 days). It was suposed to arrived on 10-21-05, and it's not here yet. I couldn't get any infomation about where my package is on Amazon. And as usual, I could not find out how to contact their customer service (if there is one) either. It has been five years, and it has never improved at all. I prefer to place my orders from the bookstores in Amazon's marketplace, not from Amazon."
"I ordered an item from Tech Depot (Office Depot in disguise) though Amazon.com. Got all of my confirmation e-mails from both parties and my CC was charged. LESS THAN 24 HOURS LATER MY ORDER WAS CANCELLED BY TECH DEPOT.
Techdepot.com's e-mail told me that it was because they couldn't assure Amazon that the item could be shipped within 5 days, but when I called their CSR told me that the item had been discontinued. Funny, because it is still for sale on the Tech Depot site.
Of course there is no way to contact Amazon.com in an efficient manner so I will lambaste them here as they deserve.
Someone needs to quit lying and give me the products I order.
Fraud complaints filed for both after I call back and get CSR names.

"I've had a very good experience ordering from amazon. i have bought several books, movies and cds over the last 2 years and often received my packages before the estimated date and never once after it. While their international shipping doesnt give the opportunity to order many of the store's items and their shipping rates can be a little expensive, amazon got my trust when they sent me another copy of a book that i didnt receive in my order in the fastest (and most expensive, about $37 for one book)service as soon as i emailed them.

"I, too, am very surprised to see such a low rating for this store. I have used Amazon.com for several years now for the majority of my online purchases. Sure, their prices sometimes aren't the hightest, but they usually are (for what I shop for). Additionally, I find their customer support (via e-mail) to be more than adequate. With an Amazon Visa card and their new A-9 discount, the deals are even sweeter. Easy website interface, ease of tracking, and the long-standing reputation all make Amazon my first stop (and 99% of the time my only stop) for online shopping."

I have spent about 5 hours navigating their site trying to find an email address or 800 number to call for help. They charged my credit card but my order has dropped off the face of the planet and there's nothing I can do but tell my credit card to stop payment. This is Bulls@#t!!! I will not do business with this company again"
"I am a long time customer of Amazon.com and frankly I can't understand why this store has such a low rating. I have not once had an issue with this store. I received my shipment of books today one day earlier than the promised date, with free shipping.
The problem I have is with our esteemed USPS, my package arrived with one side of the box smashed to h**l but the contents were so well packed with air bags there was no damage except for a slight crease in one of the paperback covers, I can live with that. Needless to say I will continue ordering from Amazon."
