"I ordered a Big Baby Taylor guitar with a payment plan through American Music Supply. My guitar arrived quickly and in perfect condition.
I had an emergency come up last week and I didn’t have the money to make my payment on time. I called to ask for a week long deferral without really expecting one. The woman I spoke to was so kind, she simply asked me the date I’d like to make my payment and said, “Okay, you’re set up for that date.” I’ve talked to a few different people from the company and each time they have been very kind, understanding, and knowledgeable. This company has gone above and beyond my expectations. "
"If I could give -0 I would! DO NOT MAKE ANY BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!! You are being warned by a lot of people !! These people will ruin your credit, they will simply lie to you! What a disgraceful company! They cancel my order 5 times because of a supposed wrong information which was not true. "I'm giving 4 stars because I'll be the only 4 star rating and people will probably look at this review, not because there's anything wrong.
I can't say enough about how kind they were to me.
I didn't get an attitude with them and they didn't get one with me either. I talked to 5 different people and all very kind and understanding.
My first guitar was a blemished model and it had a bump in the neck plus the fine tuners were so hard to adjust and it wouldn't stay in tune.
Asked for a return and exchange for the same model. They sent me the shipping label and I returned it right away. They didn't even charge me for return shipping. They said they would send another one immediately. I waited talked emailed always got a response and people were kind. But I didn't get a tracking number finally 2 days later I'm starting to wonder. I called again after looking up reviews from this website and I was getting a little worried. Preston sent me an email on friday saying He was going to upgrade my shipping to overnight but still no tracking number. Saturday I recieved a brand new guitar not the blemished model.
They spent $300.00 to make me happy and overnight-ed it as well.
I'm sorry for the people who have had trouble but I am so pleased how this worked out. Kindness goes a long way!"

"I purchased a 2018 standard SG in ebony. When my guitar arrived I was so excited until I saw that from the input jack and through the back of the body the guitar was completely cracked. When unboxing I was alarmed that there was no packing material whatsoever. I contact AMS and they email me saying they’ll take 100 dollars off (couldn’t fix a thing for that amount) or I can just return it! The problem is it’s the last one! Now I can’t have the guitar I want and because I used the payment plan I have a credit inquiry on a faulty product. I’m disgusted by the customer service and how little they care I’m ZZounds from here on out."
"I have spent thousands of dollars with this company over about a 20 year period and have always been happy with the service till now. I recently ordered a "Minor Blemish" bass for around $1200 that was supposed to be a slightly used, returned, guitar. It smells strongly of pipe smoke and has pretty substantial scratches on the pick guard which implies someone had this in their possession for a reasonable amount of time. To cut to the chase, I received major runaround and conflicting responses each time I contacted, (about 5 reps in total) about it. Ultimately my only options were to return it, (and buy a new one one CS rep suggested) or accept a $25 gift card if this rep could "hook me up" with it. I make about $75 an hour. I'm very surprised this company is still in business with all the competition"
"WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!! This company is filled with liars and rude customer service representatives. I ordered a few things online and without notice they cancelled my order because they ran my information (without my permission) and my phone number listed did not match the phone number provided. I spoke with both Dominic and Tammy, neither were polite or helpful. They had no real reason to cancel my order. They could have called and said my order was cancelled instead they had my account on hold. I feel disrespected by the representatives, they did not provide me with a good positive attitude like any other company did. They treated me like I did something wrong. Meanwhile I order online often for myself and family members using my same phone number without any issues. If my phone was in someone else’s name (which it is not) then it shouldn’t matter. Mind you my billing address and shipping address are the same and therefore nothing else should matter. Emails change and phone numbers change. I am very frustrated by the lack of respect and waste of my time. This is supposed to be a no credit check company but since they are not providing good customer service I would recommend Zzounds instead."

"I placed an order for a rare 98 piece guitar for 3800, order was received got email confirmation but after a few days never got shipping update. Called gave the run around they seriealize check there guitars to make sure aka Bull crap, after filing with BBB I find out they never had the guitar when I ordered it. There response was my bad you weren't charged. But days were wasted they lied falsely advertised ran credit check and I'm supposed to eat that all because they can't run a business and keep track of what they sell. Yea okay do your self a favor give your money to a random homeless person on the street your better off getting the gear you order. Don't order from American Musical Supply, this comply should be ashamed shut there doors and everyone should know to avoid them at all costs. "
"I contacted AMS by phone back in November. Got an 'order-taker' on the phone & spent 15 minutes explaining I was trying to find a company that could furnish a HUGE order ( every type of equipment/peripheral there is ) and PAY to have it amassed and shipped as one bulk order as most of it anyway- needed to arrive at a Studio location and offloaded. So the customer service person tells me he 'understands EXACTLY what & why I'm trying to do what I needed done and we agree he'll 'be my contact' and once he finds out more info from his Employer.. and who could arrange such an order- he'll get back to me via e-mail ( which he sent to my e-mail while we were talking ).. NEVER hear back... Finally, I leave him an e-mail asking if he has found out the needed info and talked to 'higher ups' and a couple days go by ( now going on 2 weeks ) to e-mail, 'I talked with my Supervisor who says we can't do it'.....??? So, AMS throws away a MASSIVE order ( and big $$ ) and I'm left wondering, 'Isn't their SOME VIP for AMS who would've jumped through hoops for such an order-considering the competition?? ) Apparently not.... So now one of their top competitors will fulfill our needs and ( personally ).. someone who got back to me after THEIR customer service person forwarded our needs- who is a decision-maker, not some Customer service supervisor ( who probably thought our query was a hoax?

"I placed an order for items listed as in stock which weren’t. Without explanation the sent what they had in separate spaced out shipments. I an still waiting for 1 of the 2 turntables I bought. I’d done business with them before but never again. The supervisor Gabe shows zero interest in customer loyalty or support. "

Was shipped in completely dammaged, and one of the peavy speakers I ordered was so poorly assembled I will never buy another peavy spraker again either. Then they insisted to get an exchance of my order that I needed to repackaged two almost 4 foot tall speakers. Where the hell am I gonna find boxes that big in a small town? And so now Im having to spend my own money on boxes and packing tape??? Not to mention my time. Un believable!!"
"I found a Boss GT 1000, that has a general sticker price of $1000, at Cream City Music in Milwaukee for $800 new with a checkout coupon. I wanted to take advantage of the AMS no credit check payment plan so I tried the Price Match Guarantee. Initially AMS said yes after they checked it online. But then when I called the sales rep he came up with a lame excuse why they wouldn't match the price-- and he decided to brow beat me at the same time. He made an offer and then gave me no time to think about it. I said no of course.
I suspect that any time American Music Supply doesn't like the price you want to be matched they will come up with some technicality to squeeze out of it. I won't do business there. "

"I probably been doing business with American Musical for over 15 years. During the 15 years I bought a lot of instruments and I only had one issue with a Fender guitar, American Musical let me return the guitar pass the 45 days window and sent me a new guitar. Otherwise, American Musical always been amazing. I don't know why so many people are complaining about American Musical."
