The price was too good to pass up, but I didn't realize the seller was in Crooklyn, NY until I'd placed the order. They wanted a review up front before shipping, which is why the review was OK initially.

When the AC arrived I immediately knew there was a problem. The box arrived heavily damaged so I took *many* pictures of the box and the unboxing process just in case they were to attempt to blame the condition on me.

The product was packed upside down inside of a second box with only a small expando-foam pillow placed squarely on top of the unit. Since the shipper generally will take pains to ship the box right side up this guaranteed the unit would be badly damaged during shipment. From the damage it was evident that the unit had been dropped on it's top side because that foam pillow left a huge indentation in the top of the unit. Unfortunately for the shipper I was not home when the unit arrived and they delivered without signature.

It's clear this is a shipping scam designed to defraud either the customer (if they're unlucky enough to not document the process) or the shipper (if the customer is lucky enough to get past AC's return process). Getting AppliancesConnection to accept the return involved significant communication and documentation, but in the end they agreed to accept the return, and I was ultimately refunded my money. I firmly believe this is *only* because of the extensive documentation I collected before and after unboxing that left them no choice to accept the fact that the damage was not my fault.

Avoid this place like the plague.
