"I have purchased from batteries.com three times in the past year. Their service has been prompt and efficient, and their prices are very good. Their store brand alkaline batteries last as long as name Duracell, and are much cheaper. I have found their 50-pack of AA and AAA batteries to be a particularly good value."
"I ordered 1 battery from them. I received an email confirming the order of one battery. I received an email confirming shipment of one battery.
Two different packages arrived with two different order numbers. Each contained 1 battery. I called them and they had me print out a return label for them to pay for return shipping.
I removed their old label from the package, taped the label securely and even stapled it on to make sure and mailed it the next day.
After two weeks I called again because they had charged my card in two transactions. I still had no credit for the duplicate order returned.
They said they would check on it and call me.
I waited two more weeks. I called again. They said they did not receive the return. They claimed I ordered twice. It was my fault. Yet I strangely never received two invoices,or two shipment confirmations. Their online account only shows one order of one battery. Yet they claim I ordered two times. The rep said my email must have blocked the 2nd ones, both the order confirmation and shipping confirmation. What about their online account page only showing one order?
Now I am out the cost of the 2nd order. They could care less. They ripped me off! Avoid them like the plague. Something smells very fishy there."
" I placed an order for a laptop battery on May 12th. I upgraded my shipping to "Guaranteed," which, according to the website, meant that "...you'll get your order on time or your order is free. You heard it. Your order is on time or we refund your money when you select UPS Guaranteed Ground." (from http://www.batteries.com/help/shipping.asp.) The "guarantee" was five business days from the day of shipping.
According to the website, my order shipped out the following day, May 13th. Which means, according to their guarantee, that it should have arrived on May 21st or earlier. From May 13th to May 19th, the UPS tracking said "Billing information received." On the 19th, I emailed customer service to see if they had any further information. Almost immediately after I emailed, the UPS tracking was updated, with a delivery date of May 23rd.
Now, I don't know what happened, but my package obviously did not ship out on the 13th, as quoted on the website. I have my suspicions, but in the end, I really don't care. The "guarantee" does not qualify its refund policy. If I do not receive it within five days, it should be refunded.
I called customer service to get my refund, and talked to two very unhelpful representatives, including the "director of customer service." She told me that I "was missing the point," and that "the policy does not apply if UPS 'drops the ball.'"
Whatever. I don't care if UPS dropped the ball, if God himself hid the package, or if some careless warehouse employee went to lunch and did not send it out on time. If the site said it was shipped on the 13th, I should have received it by the 21st, not one day later."
"What a terrible experience. I was skeptical up front but was re-assured by William C. Gupton. I should have known better when my original order couldn't even be processed because the web interface wasn't working properly. Had a lot of problems with the old passing the buck customer service attitude. I quit writing peoples names down after 5. Was put on hold for well over an hour accumulatively. Would have been much les expensive and way less aggravating to just go to my local store to buy them. Please for your own sanity don't do business with these people. batteries.com"
"Ordered two batteries from them only to get an email saying they were backordered so I emailed back to cancel. Received an email saying they had been canceled, only to receive two packages that week from them when I had already ordered from another company, which was cheaper. Now no response back from them and billed for both orders."
"I highly recommend this company. They processed and shipped my order in a timely manner. Even more importantly, they resolved a problem quickly and generously, even though it may or may not have been their merchandise that was at fault. I will use them for future online battery purchases."
"I ordered two cordless tool batteries, received them in a few days and they are better than the original batteries that came with the tool. They are made in Hong Kong, so the jury is still out on how long they will last, but so far I am quite happy with the product and the online merchant."
"Received 50 defective batteries & they refuse to replace order.
Read the reviews, look at the ratings & beware !"
"Made two orders in 3 months, received batteries quickly and with no problems. Good prices."
"I would give this company the lowest rating that I could give. It took them 2 month to ship my order. And there were no email response during this time. I emailed them more than twice. The product finally came as a defect one. I had to ask for an exchange. Now the second one came and it is still defected. I called and they want me to pay for a fee for whatever warranty handling fee since they said it passed 45 days! Oh, yeah?! So, I have to pay for your mistakes? I would not recommend this company to anyone until they shapen up! "
"Ordered replacement watch batteries. Items arrived promptly, good e-mail communication. Would order from them again."
"There were several batteries for my camcorder available. I chose one cheap name brand 700mAh and one expensive Batteries.com brand 1100mAh one. Got shipped the right 700mAh but they shipped a house (no) brand name smaller 770mAhn instead of the 1100. I called, they asked for me to return it. I did and that's the last I heard of my money or battery. First, no crosshiping. Second, wait up to 10 business days for them to "receive it". Third: they never "receive it". So they never shipped my paid-for battery, and now they claim they haven't received the WRONG one they sent and I returned as instructed, which was the wrong one to begin with!!!!! Haven't answered to a single email, phone service could be better. I challenged the payment with my CC. company and filed a complaint with the Better Business Beaureu. Avoid. Seriously. Will never deal with again except to warn everybody of doubious practices and bad service."
"I purchased a battery which was listed as a replacement for a specific model number battery which came with my camera. It turned out that the battery was not compatible with my camera, after all (the customer service rep admitted this when I called to obtain by RMA). I returned the item and, although I was refunded the price of the battery, they did not refund me for the shipping charge. Why should I have to pay for shipping if the merchandise was not as advertised? I e-mailed them to ask for a refund of the shipping. That was two months ago. I never received the refund for the shipping, and I never heard back from them. Beware of this merchant's bait-and-switch tactics!"
"Ordered batt for Sony Camera - arrived 3 weeks later. It was not the battery that I ordered and although it said 100% Sony compatible, it did not work. Called (8 tries) and got an RMA number. I mailed it back 2 weeks ago. Called them 1/21/07 and they said that the Post Office held all their packeages (I guess they dont pay their bills). They assured me that the RMA would be sorted out by Friday. Called on 1/26 (4 tries). Got a woman who told me that they have only sorted through about 75% of their mail. I suspect this is all a story. They said they would email me when they get to mine (they don't have it yet???) Well, suffice to say I think I am going to have to kiss off the $45 for the battery. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE FOLKS. If not crooks, they are certainly poor business people.
Update - Called 1/31 and got the same "Post Office is holding our mail" story. They said they would call me on Friday 2/2 if they did not have it.
Follow Up - 2/9/07 I finally got my refund from them after 8 phone calls and the same "Post Office" excuse. These are lousy folks to do business with and I recommend that you look anywhere else to buy batteries."
"Low price and fast shiping!
I got the special package with 40 AA + 10 AAA for less than 10 bucks. The batteries worked pretty long before they quit, and the life span is actually way beyond my expectation. Now my blood pressure can stay normal when my kids have all their toys running. :-)"
