The first charger I got was DOA.

However, their customer service dept. seems top-notch.

They shipped me a new, tested charger very soon after I contacted them about the first DOA charger.

The new charger seems to be working great so far.

I'd give their customer service an A+. "

Packaging is substandard. Items are not protected from impact. I have had some damage because of this.

Inflexibility of shipping choices. Being in Canada, I would like them to use USPS. They used to offer this option but on my most recent order they no longer do. UPS is just too expensive. By the time I received my order, the total cost was nearly doubled!

Will try all-battery.com instead next time.

"I recently purchased a battery pack for a ROOMBA vacuum from "BatterySpace". After approximately 30 days the life of the battery began to shorten significantly. After 60 days the battery life is down to 10 min's on a full charge. I contacted BatterSpace for an exchange, this is what they sent back:

"Sorry to hear that the product wasn't functioning correctly. But unfortunately, the battery now is out of warranty according to our policy. Actually, we can repair for you, but will charge $35 for the labor plus material. So I think to buy a new one is much battery".

Anyone considering purchasing a battery from this company should re-consider. It is obvious they are selling very low quality batteries. Otherwise they would guarantee their products for longer than 30 days. The original ROOMBA battery lasted nearly 2 years.

"This is a review of BC1HU Universal Smart Charger + 18 Various Upgraded NiMH Cells (item CH-BC1HUC03) purchased from www.batteryspace.com. The product includes a universal smart charger that will charge AAA, AA, C, D and even 9v rechargeable batteries. You can charge up to 4 of the regular size batters (AAA, AA, C, D) and up to 2 of the 9v at a time. The charger charges each battery individually which is nice as some chargers require a minimum of two or more batteries in them to charge, and also charges both Ni-mh and Ni-cad. The unit came bundled together with 4 AAA’s, 4 AA’s, 4 C’s, 4 D’s and 2 9volt batteries. I nearly purchased an Energizer brand from Wal-Mart before this purchase and was shocked by the capacity difference in the C and D batteries. The Energizer D size rechargeable from Wal-Mart only have a capacity of ~2,500 mAh versus the 10,000 mAh that are included in this bundle (D size rechargeable’s at RadioShack were more expensive and only ~5,000 mAh. Buying the other batteries and charger would have been slightly cheaper, but I would have been getting batteries with less capacity and a non-smart charger. I currently also have a simple non-smart charger for AA size batteries that I use for a digital camera. The AA batteries that come in the package from batteryspace.com have a 30% larger capacity which will be very convenient when you are out on vacation and are taking lots of pictures. I also have always found it very annoying to use the non-smart chargers as unless they are completely drained, you really can’t be sure what the recommended time is to charge them to reach full capacity. With this smart charger it does this automatically for you, which also helps keep the rechargeable batteries in good condition by not overcharging them.

As a new father, my purpose of buying the smart charger and rechargeable batteries was to save money from buying alkaline batteries for things like swings, bouncers, toys, etc... Now that I have the baby and we’ve received many items, I know I’ll be ordering extra D size rechargeable batteries. It does take some time to fully charge the large capacity D size batteries, but keep in mind that their capacity is much larger than the other batteries so this does require extra charging time.

I was very pleased with the speed that batteryspace.com shipped my items. The unit was well packaged and arrived on time and in expected new condition. I had no question as to batteryspace.com’s reputation, as I frequently visit a web forum where several members build bicycle lights and batteryspace.com is one of the most frequent places that these builders buy their batteries and battery packs from. I recommend this product to someone looking for a smart charger and various sizes of batteries. I’ve used the product several times so far discharging and recharging all the batteries to make sure they were in good working order and I’ve had no problems.

"I purchased this battery pack as a replacement for a stock Nite Rider HID bicycle light battery that was slowly losing capacity after 2 years. The new pack offers 5000 mAHr capacity compared to the original pack 4000 mAHr. It was slightly heavier and a few inches longer, so I made a new battery holder out of 2 water bottles (note: use hot melt glue to hold the water bottles together, it is the same material as the bottles). It works great. Great service at BatterySpace. The stock charger works with the new batteries. "

"Ordered four pairs of connectors online on Monday, and they arrived on Wednesday - much earlier than expected. Obviously, I am very satisfied. The connectors are hard to find, and the price is right. "

"Item was incompletely described on company's web site, so I emailed them to confirm it was in stock and included the normal parts. I received no reply, but the price was good and I ordered the item and received confirmation of my order the same day. Next day I received UPS tracking information. The day after that I received a notice of cancellation of my UPS order! Then I went to company's web site and saw their price had suddenly doubled! Worried, I emailed them again to ask whether my order was cancelled or whether my price had doubled. Again, no response! However, a week later the item did arrive and, although the packaging was largely crushed, the item itself was not damaged and included all I expected. So my experience is that they are wholly non-communicative but do eventually come through with their product."

The items purchased where a BC1HU Universal Battery Charger, “D” 5000 mAh NiCd Button Top Rechargeable Batteries (#CD-D5000A), and “AA” 1000 mAh 1.2V NiCd Button Top Rechargeable Batteries (#CD-AA1000A). The entire transaction with BatterySpace.com was very easy and the products arrived very fast. This is a great on-line shopping site.

The batteries are being used in a portable TV/Radio that I use all the time at my job site. I only have to charge the batteries once or twice a week depending how much I use the TV. I was replacing non-rechargeable batteries almost ever week, when I switched to rechargeable. A prior brand of rechargeable only lasted though about 25 recharges and where almost twice the cost of the batteries from BatterySpace.com. The batteries I purchased from BatterySpace.com have now been recharged over 50 times and are still going strong. I’m very happy with the quality of these batteries and they have saved me a great deal of money (which I’m always happy about).

The battery charger is also still going strong. In addition to the above batteries, I have used it to recharge other batteries. One example is the batteries which came in my solar outdoor walk lights. About once a month, I will remove the batteries from the lights and charge them in the charger. This really makes a difference in how long the lights will burn. Before I was charging them in the charger, they would only last a few hours after the sun went down, now they last well into the night. Even on my latest nights, they are still burning when I fall asleep.

Needless to say, I would recommend BatterySpace.com and their products to anyone (even dear old Mom)."

I have bought Nicads, NiMh, and Lithiums for use at home or in my RC planes. All have been very good products. Will be back when I need more Batteries. (P.S. their prices are very very good)

"Their nitch is online tech advise before ordering. Prices appear good. Where they fail is returns when advise is wrong by charging a restocking fee of 20%. That's the same as any order"

"I ordered a charger and some AA and AAA batteries. The AAA batteries were defective. They overheated and boiled acid all over my charger and my floor. Batteryspace offered to replace the AAA batteries if shipped back at my own expense. They said they would charge me a 20% restocking fee to return the AA batteries and charger. They claimed they knew that AAA batteries were defective but the charger and AA batteries should be fine."
