"We just had a baby and every toy and baby gadget requires batteries. At first, we just kept buying large packs of Duracell at Costco. One item, our baby swing, used D cell batteries. The Duracells worked fine for over a month. But the cost was high enough I wanted to look for a cheaper alternative. I bought some Energizer D-Cell rechargeable. We were seriously disappointed in them because they would not even last one day in the swing before they had to be recharged.
I did some searching on the internet and came across Batteryspace.com. I invested a little bit in the BC1HU Computer Controlled charger and the 8 piece D-Cell 10,000 mAh NiMH batteries. I was extremely satisfied with the performance of these batteries. They lasted as long as the Duracell batteries (over a month) in the swing and that was using all the features of the swing (motion, songs, mobile).
I've been so satisfied with these batteries that I've been back to purchase 8 NiMH ultra high capacity C-Cell batteries, 24 2,500mAh high capacity AA and then went back for 24 more of the 2,500mAh batteries, and 12 850mAh Ni-MH AAA batteries, a battery organizer, and a bunch of battery cases.
The charger is nice and solid, charges all the sizes I need (AAA, AA, D, C, 9-Volt). It can charge both NiMH and Ni-Cd. It has alot of nice features for a charger of this cost.
If I had to do it over again, I'd highly recommend buying the battery organizer, charger, and battery combination packs. However, we've been extremely satisfied with the batteries, chargers, and the company we've ordered them from.
The website was easy to order from. There was alot of variety to choose from and the site was organized so that the items could be easily found. I really liked how they had the level of technical detail that you just can't find from off-the-shelf name brand batteries."
"As a proud new father of my first child, I have been trying to figure out ways to live as cheaply as possible. Having a kid has always scared me because of how expensive they can be. That is why I have recently been scouring the internet for ideas on how to save money on stuff. One thing that I have found babies tend to go thorough a lot of (besides diapers) is batteries. It really is amazing how hard it is to end up owning something for the little one that doesn’t require batteries. Even the highchair that we received as a gift requires some to play music and operate a toy that snaps into the tray.
That is why I have decided to make an investment in rechargeable batteries. I went through www.batteryspace.com because they seemed to offer a wide selection of products, had lots of info regarding the different types of batteries and chargers they sold, and seemed to have good package deals on them.
I ordered a package that included a smart charger that was capable of charging all of the common sizes, and several rechargeable batteries. I spent a lot of money thorough this company, but they had the best deals that I could find anywhere, and I was happy to know that I would be saving so much more over the long run vs. disposable batteries.
Once my order arrived, I was not immediately happy. I noticed that my order had been screwed up. Some of the batteries that I got with my package were of a lower capacity than what they were supposed to be according to the description I saw on their website. Since I had just spent so much money on these things, I was pretty upset.
I sent an email to their customer service department explaining how my order was incorrect. Since this was just a small company on the internet that I had never heard of, I was afraid that they would just brush me off and I would never hear from them again.
The next day I received an email back from them. It said that they were sorry about the mix-up and that they had sent the correct items out to me. I was surprised to hear back from them so quickly, and even more surprised when I saw the correct batteries arrive in my mailbox just 2 days later. They had included a pre-paid shipping label for me to send the incorrect batteries back to them, so I did. It was pretty easy.
I now have all of the correct items that I ordered and everything is working great. I realize that even the best company is not immune to making mistakes some times. I feel that batteryspace.com has made it up to me with their excellent customer service and quick response and quick shipping. Overall I am a satisfied customer. As my battery needs grow in the future, I will probably purchase from this store again.

"Having ordered two electric bicycle batteries and a power consumption meter for delivery to Italy goods got probably lost in italian customs.
BatterySpace.com, after a reasonable waiting period, resent the ordered articles which were puntually received (value about 250 $).
I have measured the battery packs upon arrival and found them exactly performing to specs.
The handling of this sale has been extremely professional and hassle free. I higly recommend BatterySpace, especially for international orders."
"About a year ago, I noticed I was running through a lot of alkaline batteries and was constantly running to the thrift store to buy spare batteries. So I decided to research and invest in some good rechargeable batteries. A friend recommended to me BatterySpace.com. So I went ahead and purchased a batteries and charger combo from Batteryspace.com. It consisted of a smart charger, 12 pieces of the Powerizer 2300mAh AA batteries, 12 pieces of the Powerizer 850 mAh AAA batteries, and a couple of battery holders for about $45, which was a great deal after researching many other sites. I received my order very quickly.
My primary intent for these batteries was to install them in my television remotes, wireless Logitech keyboard and mouse setup, and my new Canon digital camera. Wow! After making the switch to rechargeable batteries, I can honestly say I can’t imagine going back. After a year, I have been recharging and reusing the batteries without a hitch. I go for months without replacing the batteries on my television remotes and Logitech keyboard, and the mouse lasts about a week on one charge (and work just fine with the recharging base for my Logitech wireless mouse). And they are really useful for taking hundreds of pictures on my Canon digital camera on just one set of batteries.
The charger is pretty fast, taking about an hour to charge the AA batteries and less than that for the AAA batteries. It displays two LEDs, one for each pair of batteries. Red means the batteries are charging, flashing red means there’s a problem with one or two of the batteries, and green means it’s done and in trickle mode. I wish there were some easier way to determine which battery is problematic when it comes to that, since each pair shares the same LED. I found myself having to swap batteries out and taking some time to figure out which one is causing the flashing red light. But overall I really do appreciate the straightforwardness and speediness of the charger.
The only minor problems I’ve had with the batteries themselves are with the flakey plastic on the batteries and some of the AAA batteries dying out. The plastic on some of the batteries have started to peel off, exposing the metallic body (which can get quite warm to the touch after use). But it’s not a big issue since they still work fine and, heck, who really looks at their batteries when they use them. And some of the AAA batteries have stopped working and refused to recharge. The charger simply blinks and indicates it cannot charge them anymore. I can’t complain too much, because these batteries were cheap. And all of the AA batteries are working just great, which I use more of anyway.
I can’t fathom the amount of time and money I must have saved from not using and buying disposable alkaline batteries. The batteries and charger have been a blessing in my life. I highly recommend Batteryspace.com and their battery products to anybody."
"Always get my order quickly; however, am close to the distribution point. Good selection of what I need."
"Toys draining batteries faster than you can replace them? Need an endless supply for high drain electronic devices like digital cameras or walkie talkies? Environmentally conscious? Want the convenience of not having to buy alkalines? Nimh batteries are the answer.
There are plenty of places to purchase rechargeable batteries and after doing some research I decided to purchase from batteryspace. Reasons included they sell a computer controlled battery charger, the mAh capacity was much higher than store bought name brands, they had good reviews from online deal forums, there was a 5% off coupon, shipping was more reasonable than from auction sites and the Powerizer brand was a popular brand, see
http://www.imaging-resource.com/ACCS/BATTS/BATTS.HTM. Would I buy from them again? Yes. Would I buy from another vendor? Probably so if I can get the same product for less. Am I glad I switched to Nimh? Most definitely, even though I keep alkalines around since nimh batteries drain pretty fast while idle.
I purchased:
BC1HU Computer Controlled Superfast Charger + 18 Various Upgrated NiMH Cells which included 4 AA, 4 AAA, 4 D, 4 C, and 2 9V batteries
and
24 Pcs AA 2300mAh+12 Pcs AAA 850mAh High Capacity NiMH Rechargeable Batteries
The Charger is great. It has four independent channels so you don't have to charge in pairs. The 'computer' knows when the battery is fully charged as indicated by a green light rather than a red light when it is charging. I leave the top open when charging Cs or Ds because it can get really hot. The discharge feature works well but be prepared for a long charge time. It is also useful for devices that don't like such high capacity batteries, such as my Sharper Image Shower CD/Radio. You can activate the discharge, wait a couple minutes while it reduces the charge, and voila, good to go.
A battery is a battery. As long as it provides power and can be recharged and recharged and .... then it's doing its job. There are couple of drawbacks to the powerizers.
- A couple were duds or have become duds over time. Nimh batteries are rated to be recharged 1000+ times. However about after 10 charges or so a couple of the AAA and AA batteries can no longer be charged. I tried charging the batteries in multiple chargers and still no go. i don't know if this kind of failure rate is similar to name brands but it's frustrating. If this happened to Cs and Ds then it might not be so economical.
- The plastic brand label that surrounds each battery makes the battery larger than alkalines. This means that sometimes it will be a tight squeeze or you'll have to remove the plastic. The plastic also has a tendency to peel so you might have to remove it anyway.
Last piece of advise. Buy only what you need. I have way more batteries than I need. Since Nimhs drain pretty fast while idle and is optimal when it is being used, it would be a waste to have so many cells laying around. "
"Before purchasing, I asked if the battery would operate a small pump. The answer was yes. When received, it would not. They told me to discharge and charge the battery four times. When that did not work they quit responding to emails, or the request for an RMA."
"I purchased several items from battery space, including a 10 battery charger, 22 AA batteries and 10 AAA batteries. All items arrived quickly and were well packed. I was charged exactly what I thought I should be charged. I have now charged all 42 batteries, and 4 of the AA batteries never take a charge. I am requesting replacements now. The charger was easy to use and so far so good on the battery usage, although a 10% failure rate on charging seems fairly high. 2300 mAh batteries take a long time to charge on any charger. Anyway, I found their site easy to use, but had a hard time deciding what to buy because of the wide selection. A product comparison chart would have been nice. "
"I just made my first transaction with this vendor. I was trying to purchase an item for $24. I got "Thank you Mark for your order of $83.79." !! I remember no opportunity to review pushing the "complete transaction" button, and no way to cancel the order except BY PHONE! And NO 1 "800" number provided. This may be fixable, but a definite drawback from this site that may leave me reluctant to do business with them in the future. mgt"
"I purchased an "11.1V 4000mAh Li-Ion Battery Pack + Smart Charger for Portable DVD" to be used as a replacement battery for my bicycle HID light. The specs of the replacement battery are the same as those of the original except that it provided more mAH’s, but was priced at less than half that of a replacement from my light manufacturer. From a price stand-point I am very happy.
The battery was shipped out the day after my order UPS, so fast shipping, which was appreciated.
Upon receipt, I found the battery to be well put-together with what appears to be good quality shrink wrap and wiring pre-attached. The battery included a smart charger and a set of universal plug adaptors, and an extra wire adapter so it worked great for my DIY project.
Along with the battery, I ordered a handlebar mount (hardly what you expect from a battery shop) and it was shipped along with my battery, so no problem there. It was missing a piece however. I called customer service, and was sent the missing part in a couple of days. So, while I was not happy about the mess-up, BatterySpace corrected it with no problems.
The only problem with the project is that the universal plugs did not include one that fit my light. This meant I had to make the decision to cut and attach a different connector. Not a hard task and a complaint that I really can't attribute to BatterySpace.
As a general comment, my one complaint with BatterySpace in general is the lack of ability to request a specific battery (coupled with a site search engine that seems a little hit-and-miss). After purchasing the above-referenced battery, I became interested in other batteries that I might replace with up-grades from, for example, lead acid or NiMH to Li-Ion ones. Some I found, but were available only as kits including charger etc. which I now have. I would like to be able to buy without charger for a reduced price. A really nice feature would be to be able to custom order a battery set given a set of specifications. In other words, I say what type of battery, voltage, amp hours, etc. and they build. I understand that that may end up costing too much. But an alternative is to be able to at least have the option of purchasing non-“kit” batteries. Finally, the poor site search engine was also some trouble. I would like to see a search engine where the same criteria, type of battery, voltage, amp hours, etc., are set as fields that you can enter and have the site pull batteries that meet the criteria. As it is now, you have to try and find batteries based upon their less than specific descriptions. I found that there were batteries that fit multiple descriptions that were found one way, but not another in which they still fit. I know these are fairly minor complaints, but they would help in finding/buying batteries.
All-in-all I had a good experience with them and based on that experience will do business with them again."
"Battery Space seems to have a great selection at great prices. Since placing my order I have had nothing but problems. First they sent the wrong battery then they forgot to send accessories.I send the battery back via 3 day shipping at my expense and it takes them over a week to acknowlege the item was back. Then they contact me asking what I would like to replace the wrong item even though I included a description of the item with the return packaging.
In summary Battery Space has good products and pricing but really poor customer service.

"I learned about Batteryspace.com roughly two years ago from a website that advertises great deals on electronics. My first purchase was a package with a Compact Smart Charger with AAA and AA Powerizer batteries. Since then, I’ve made several purchases with Batteryspace.com and have been very satisfied with their products and service. I have the Compact Smart Charger with home and car adapters and somewhere in the neighborhood of 6 dozen rechargeable NiMH AA and AAA Powerizer batteries. I have also bought roughly a dozen CR123A Lithium Photo / Flashlight batteries.
Just last week, I received my third order of AAA batteries. It is shocking to me that I continue to need more, but I finally have enough to power my kids’ toys without using any disposable batteries, which is no small accomplishment when you have a 2 and 4 year old. Using rechargeable NiMH batteries is a great value compared to buying disposables and I’m glad not to be contributing more batteries to a landfill. It’s also just easy to grab freshly charged batteries, compared to having to rummage through my box of partially-used disposable batteries for ones in good shape.
I’ve found the charger to be fast and efficient and very easy to use. It charges batteries surprisingly quickly. While I haven’t yet used it on a road trip, I can see that the car charger will come in handy. Although I don’t have much of a basis to compare, I’ve found the batteries to have adequate run times, which are in line with other rechargeable batteries I’ve used. One thing that I really like is that the Powerizer AA and AAA batteries are a distinctive blue color which helps make sure that they don’t get confused with disposable ones.
My only complaints about products I’ve bought are that one of the CR123A Lithium Photo / Flashlight batteries I bought started to leak several months after sitting on my shelf (without having been used). Also the plastic shell of one of the NiMH AAs began to peel, but I consider these to be small problems, given the large number of batteries I’m using, and I haven’t bothered to contact customer service regarding these problems.
The website is clear and easy to navigate and the product information is detailed. The payment and checkout process is quick and easy. Prices are very reasonable for products and shipping. Shipping was fast and my orders have been filled without any errors. Communication via email has been clear and I’ve always gotten order confirmations and shipping notifications quickly. I’ve also been pleasantly surprised by receiving free batteries on one occasion and a 5% return customer discount for future purchases after each order. Although I wish that the 5% discount code would appear on the shipping receipt, because I can never keep track of it in emails.
I recommended Batteryspace.com to my sister, who has since purchased a charger and AA batteries for use in a digital camera and has had a good experience as well. It’s also cool that we can charge batteries at each others’ houses, since we have the same charger.
I really appreciate the range of products on the site. Based on my good experience with their products, I’ll be looking into a high-powered bike light next. The LED light products look interesting too. I don’t expect to go anywhere else to purchase rechargeable batteries and highly recommend Batteryspace.com. "
