"**THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH**
Yesterday, my husband and I found a camera on amazon.com that we loved; we decided that it would be awesome to could get a price match from Best Buy. We called and they said they would match the price to exactly what Amazon had. Of course we were ecstatic with this news. That excitement didn't last long when we received the an email informing us of a partial price match. We called today and spent about 3 hours on the phone with agents/managers asking why we were lied to. One supervisor decided we weren't worth talking to and hung up the phone on us. We were completely shocked so we called again. After another and hour a half, I finally spoke with a supervisor who wouldn't do anything to help us either and guess what, hung up on us again. Well, now the deal is gone on amazon.com, so we will be returning the camera to Best Buy because we refuse to do business with you anymore. I HAVE NEVER IN MY LIFE BEEN TREATED SO DISRESPECTFULLY BY A RETAILER! YOU BETTER BELIEVE YOU HAVE LOST ANOTHER LOYAL CUSTOMER DUE TO YOUR MANAGEMENT. NOW I KNOW WHY BEST BUY IS LOSING SO MUCH BUSINESS TO AMAZON! WE WERE LIED TO AND CHEATED JUST FOR BEST BUY TO COMPLETE A SALE!

"Bought a DSLR camera (Canon T2i) on Black Friday, and was very careful with it on the way home, treating the box like it was my delicate baby. When I arrived home and opened the box to check that everything was in order, it appeared that something was broken in the body of the camera because some pieces were just kind of loosely tumbling around--a small piece of glass or mirror or something had been dislodged. Well, couldn't have that.

Brought it into the store the next day to return and get a replacement but the clerk checked the camera, looking at the insides of the camera where I told her it was broken, and looked very conflicted and confused. She called over her superior, and the superior checked the camera as well, looking VERY closely at everything as if suspicious, and brought over another of the same item to inspect the insides of that, too.

Finally she told me that she could not accept or replace the camera I had bought the day prior because there was a mysterious fingerprint on the mirror on the inside of the camera, which I know for a fact had nothing to do with me. She simply would not accept any argument I made, and dared me to call the Best Buy Headquarters, with an awful customer service attitude, and promised that they would side with her.

This Best Buy manager's name was Erin and she was highly disrespectful as well as hostile to me, as well as my mother. Calling the Best Buy headquarters took a long time as well because I was met with robots who guided me through a maze of redirections, and the human at the end of the maze was friendly enough, but of no real help to me either. At one point Erin, the store manager, threatened to call the police to escort us out if my mother and I continued to press the issue.

I returned home, distraught, with an unusable camera that was defective out of the box.

The problem was only resolved when my cousin's husband offered to get my camera replaced for me. I am not sure how he managed to do it, perhaps he went to another Best Buy store, but he took my defective item and the receipt, and returned to me later with a functional version of that broken camera. I assume that he went to another store that was able to successfully replace the camera for him.

After that experience, I have an awful taste in my mouth about Best Buy. I do not know why one store would not absolutely accept my return but another was able to give me a replacement without issue. I do not know why Best Buy's customer service is so atrocious, and am still reeling from my awful encounter with that woman Erin, who had such a repellant attitude.

I am hesitant to ever buy from this company again, as I would prefer to avoid similar encounters in the future. They treat their customers awfully. It's traumatic, really.

"Bought an ink cartridge listed on their website as being compatible with my printer. Of course when it was not actually compatible I tried to return to the store and was told they do not accept returns on ink, showed them the website listing on my phone and they refused yet. Posted feedback here since they wouldn't post these comments on their site - just bad customer service, dishonest company - glad it's only a 25$ ink cartridge and not something larger - their selection of overpriced cables is great if you don't mind the 300% markup also :)"

"Last week I saw on techbargains that bestbuy had a sale on Macbook AIRs - $100 off list price. I was in the market for one to surprise my wife, so I wanted to jump on this deal and pick one up on my way home. I went to the bestbuy website to see where the closest store was (I'm in Manhattan) that had stock. I found one on my ride home (Houston & Bway), easy enough. Being that it was late (around 7), I looked to see what time they closed from the website....but it's not listed, just "call for latest hours". Weird. So I called the number, get a fax machine. Double-checked the number, called again. Fax. Really shoddy.

So I figured, they must be open past 7, so I went, and sure enough they were open. I went to the laptop section, found the macbook air on special, and asked the sales rep to buy one. She checked the computer and came back with "We're out of stock in that model, they have them in stock at 23rd Street". "But I just checked the website," I said, "and it said you have them in stock here." She replied, "Oh, the website is not always up to date." Nice.

I was running late so I had to head home. The next day I saw an even better deal from an online vendor for Retina MBP, so I spent the $200 more and bought from there instead.

This is not a big complaint about rude customer service or anything like that, because it wasn't. They actually seem to be very friendly at Best Buy from what I've seen. I'm just saying that if they want to keep up with the times, they should really modernize their website and inventory system to be accurate. They lost my business for a $1000+ laptop simply because their website wasn't current.

"Terrible! I bought a brand new MacBook Pro for $3000 and when I used it the first time the Internet did not work. I brought it back and they sent it in to get it fixed and they said I had to pay $1600 to get it repaired because of water damage!!!! How does a brand new computer have water damage?!!! DO NOT TRUST Their products ! I've never had this issue when buying directly through apple. Always buy from the manufacturer!"

"My husband bought me a Remote control car starter with install included for Christmas. I recently went to have it put in and the service tech explain that I would have to pay an addition $210.00 for hardware. (My husband was told when he purchased this I may have to pay a minimal charge on top of the over $200.00 he already paid for it.) When my husband and I took the package back for a refund we were told that it had been more than 30 days since the purchase and that no refunds are allowed. Very poor customer service!!!!! I will not go to Best Buy again!"

"i returned an ipad 4 on 1/11/13 and since it's more than $500, the refund will be sent as a check through the mail. Been told to wait 7-10 business days. On 1/25, since it more than 24 days, i called best buy, they told me to wait until the 2/11. On 2/14 i called again, they told me to wait another 2 weeks to process and 7-10 to mail. it is ridiculous for a refunds to take 2 months. They services sucks and i wont ever go to best buy Again. "

"Be careful when using on-line ordering. I needed a camera for an upcomig trip. After explaining the dates/details, I was promised delivery to meet the dates, but kept getting reasons for the delay.

The camera arrived after I left for my trip - needed to go through the hassle of returning. Bottom line - don't trust customer service delivery promises.

"WOW! I am very impressed with the quality of customer service I have just received from Best Buy. As an authorized representative of my church, I attempted to purchase a rather expensive piece of equipment from another mega-retailer and became so frustrated at their lack of concern and unwillingness to work with me on making the purchase tax exempt. I called Best Buy and spoke with someone who was polite, professional, knowledgeable and concerned. I was given excellent information. I had to go into the store and was again greeted and helped by courteous, professional people who immediately and quickly helped me to secure the tax exempt status for my church. When I got online to place the order, I had a snafu with my "Reward Zone" number and had to call customer service again. This didn't bother me a bit because the person I spoke with was, you got it, polite, professional and extremely helpful. She explained the problem and then went on to solve it for me. I am so happy. Best Buy really SERVED me, whereas the other retailer (you can probably guess which one, the big national chain) was not concerned about losing my business. The woman I spoke with there could not help me and wouldn't let me talk to a supervisor to explore my options. And she was rude.

My husband and I purchased a car stereo from Best Buy as a Christmas gift a couple of months back and that was also an top notch experience. From the man who helped us with our purchase to the woman who installed it, it was obvious that our satisfaction was their utmost concern. Communication was excellent. I will be going to Best Buy first from now on.

Even with my receipt, they would not take the merchandise back, even for store credit! To add insult to injury, I checked the product on line and this $25 item only retails for $15-18 elsewhere. "This is the worst store in the world. My Best Buy Card was stolen and used in three different Best Buy Stores after I reported it stolen. I am a petite blond female and my pic is on the card of course, the man that stole it was around 6ft 6 and black. Not even close!! They never checked ID in any of the stores in the Triad in NC. Great over 5,000 was bought and charged to me. They are still harassing me over 3 years later and I have had to pay an attorney to fix this mess!! HOpe they got completely out of business!!!"
