"Made an online purchase that I needed to cancel prior to pickup. Was treated very rudely in the store and told I had to deal with it online if that's where I purchased it. No online cancellation possible. Had to call, listen to their ads for nearly 5 minutes, then I got someone who could help me. She was very nice, but now I don't get my card credited for a week, even though I never even picked up the product."
"bestbuy.com does awesome when ya order quick shipping and shipping options when you get instore though the workers were not so great"
"Best Buy lost a good customer. In January I went to return a Xoom for an IPad that I received for Christmas from my husband. At that time I found out that he purchased it during the summer and it was too late to return it. Go figure my husband would buy a gift before Christmas Eve. So I'm stuck with a Xoom and all my other electronics are Apple, iphone, ipod.I've purchased all appliances, all electronics for my house totaling over $15K and they loose a customer for $500. Go figure"
"A terrible place to do business. They are misleading, deceptive and inefficient.
Experience # 1: some years ago There was an issue with my motherboard in my desk top. I took it to the Geek Squad for repairs and was told that it cannot be fixed I need to purchase a new computer. Some one overheard the conversation and whispered to me to try Fry's Electronics. I went to Fry's and had my computer fixed in a few hours.
Experience # 2: Last Christmas I purchased a LCD tv on line and chose "in store pick up." Soon after ia received an email stating my order was ready for pick up. I drove to the store and was told at customer service that the tv was not at the "pick up" section. Their system said that there was one available so associate went in backs to retrieve. After an hours wait I was told that they did not have any. I kept receiving the "your order is ready for pick up" email yet each time I called the store the tv was not there.
Experience # 3: a few weeks ago I went to buy a lap top. An associate recommeded one that he said was super fast. I got home and realized that it was any thing BUT super fast. I called about returning the lap top and was told that I could return it but the Microsoft Office pack that I purchased was non refundable but, I was told they can give me a new product key to use on another computer. I returned the computer and regarding the Microsoft Office I was now told that I can still use it on my new computer-total erroneous information. I tried and MS would not allow it so I'm out over $100.00."
"UPDATE from happier customer. My original post "Best Buy refuses to honor its free installation promise - forcing the consumer to pay for additional parts and labor in violation of Consumer Protection Act. Best Buy managers are rude and refuse to discuss the matter civilly, hanging up on consumers who choose to persue their legal remedies. " Next morning: I contacted a different manager and he was polite, and accommodating. He had a plumber out to connect the gas range at their expense within an hour. I also received a follow up call to be sure I was happy. I am pleased now. "
"Reward Zone Policies STINK!!! I purchased a Big screen TV at Christmas time. My Rewards Zone points didn't show up in Dec. Called customer service in Jan. was told it may take up to 30 days for them to show. Feb I checked again, still not there. Now I get this error "E150: Sorry. This transaction is more than 90 days old and is no longer eligible for redemption." WTF?!? They were never made available! I would have bought my TV elsewhere if it weren’t for the promise of a reward for my purchase. What a SCAM. Good bye for good Best Buy."
"The sales people here are terrible. I chose a computer and just needed someone to get one out for me to purchase, and it took almost 45 minutes for this to be able to happen.
It shouldn't be so difficult to exchange money for goods."
"I shopped for a GPS unit on you website. The price for my selected unit was $149.00. Rather than check out online and do a store pickup, I went directly to the store because I wanted to browse and select accessories so I thought it would be easier to check out one time. When I did so, I discovered that the in-store price for the GPS was $20.00 more than the online price. They offered to match the price if I went to customer service, but that is not the point. If I had not checked the web before going to the store, I would have been out $20.00. I did not buy the GPS. I'll go across the street to HH Gregg. They do price matching, so I'll get the GPS for $149.00 there. You've lost a good customer in me. I am a premier Reward Zone member, but unless you change your practice and post the web prices in your store, I will no longer make Best Buy my first stop. The store manager said the price is different because the store has overhead and the web does not. That argument stands on clay because it costs the store more in overhead to have me pay for it online and pick it up in the store. Get your act together."
"I bought stuff from them many times. Only had to return something once or twice without any trouble. Only time to buy stuff from them is when they have sales. Normal priced things are guaranteed to cost more than amazon or newegg. One other complaints is that some of the employees are complete idiots, and the geeksquad is even worst. The average person on a computer forum knows much more about electronics than most of the employees. Other than that, they're a good place to go look at the display items so you can buy it elsewhere for cheaper, or when they have sales."
"I love shopping at best buy. The store always has what i need and the employees are always helpful!"
"Black Tie protection is a scam! I purchased this protection plan with my mobile phone because I was told that in the unfortunate event something should happen to my phone, that there would be no interruption in service, that I would receive a new hand set instantly. So far I've been without a phone for two weeks. I have been back to the store 3 times only to pick up refurbished phones in very poor condition. This is by no means an exaggeration, these phones are at best, someones old defective or damaged phone and not refurbished. Without getting into all the details, each phone was unusable and has had to go back, furthering the delay in my service. To make matters worse, everytime I return to the store they (the hired help) are very rude. These are teenagers that have poor self esteem and bad attitudes! Long story short, I had to buy a phone outright from someone else. I cannot afford to be without a phone indefinitely. Thanks Best Buy, thanks for screwing me! I will never buy so much as AA batteries from this company and recommend nobody else does either."
"I don't go to Best Buy that often and when someone does mention Best Buy it's usually followed with something negative and that's why I was nervous to go to Best Buy to exchange a Christmas gift I got. I was given a camera with the memory card and a carry case. I got the same gift from someone else so I needed to get store credit. I was worried they would give me a hard time even thought I had a receipt. It wasn't a gift receipt so I thought they might be picky and think I was so random trying to get store credit for something that didn't belong to me. Anyways, it turned out to be really easy. They said "here is a gift card with all your store credit". It was a breeze. Like I said before, I don't go to Best Buy much but I think I will now. Hopefully I won't have too many problems with their service like other do."
"I have never had such bad customer service in my life. 3 times i have had to use there black tie protection and all 3 times i was left with nothing but horrible service and excuses. they sell some nice products but pray nothing goes wrong with them! there service is far beyond incompetent. They have no care for there customers and it is very sad. don't waste your money on there protection plans. you will regret it!"
"My husband bought a camera from Best Buy for $200 for my birthday in September 2011. From that time it has been in for repairs twice- defects in the camera-nothing we did. I have used my camera one month out of the six we had it. They refuse to replace the defective camera until it has been in for repairs 4 times..4 times!? I mean seriously- you would think after two they would realize the camera is clearly defective. Then the Geek Squad at Best Buy lied and said they send it out to Sony directly to take care of the problem since it's under manufacturer's warranty. Come to find out they never sent it to Sony they actually just use their own repair place and bill Sony. So they make money off of the repair and they do a crappy job repairing it. After the first repair it was back in the shop a 1 month later. We have bought so many things from Best Buy- NEVER AGAIN!!"
"I ordered a RCA HDTV/DVD combo from bestbuy.com because Walmart was sold out. I chose the free store shipping and was scheduled to pick up my TV on 2/16/12. After a week I decided to go online and track my order...the status said back-ordered. I call customer service to find out what is going on and they tell me that the TV wouldn't arrived until March 20th. I asked why was I not notified by either the email or phone number I provided and the rep told me "oh well sometimes it gives you notice somethings it wont...now you know". The fact that I received zero notice from best buy and they did nothing to accommodate my time waiting for a product I wasn't going to receive has made me never want to purchase anything from best buy again."
