"I had almost identical experience to others listed here. Beware! bestpricecameras will not honor their price on the product advertised. They try to sell equipment already in the box with the camera and then a waranty. They are not an authorized dealer of most brands, so the manufacturer cannot waranty what bestpricecameras sells. A scam like most of the other Broklyn NY dealers online. "
"Very very poor on every count -
Speed, customer service, reliability, communication."
"Horribe! Deceptive prices! Remove components that are standards and try to get you to purchase them at inflated prices! End price much higher than other sellers! I cannot emphasize enough you should avoid this seller!
You'll see their practices when they call you after you place your order and try to milk every penny they can instead of just processing your order like a normal store. At that time you'll also find it's missing standard components. Beware their "sale prices" in tehir ad"
"I went to www.bestpricecameras.com to purchase a Canon SD-500 digital camera for $379 on 07.10.2005. The site's prices are ridiculously low so I thought I would call the number listed on their website and check them out.
The sales person did not give me their name. The person answered yes to all of my technical questions which I thought was odd. Many of the answers were incorrect too, as I was comparing the answers to the tech spec for the camera which I downloaded from canon.com.
The next night, I decided to order the camera from them. I noticed their site says that credit card information is transmitted securely. I was skeptical. I entered my personal information into the fields on the screen like name and address and phone number. When the credit card information was requested, I noticed that the site was not using SSL (i.e. HTTPS was not specified in the Address field in my browser). This means that the browser session is not currently secure.
At this point, I was very skeptical so I decided to right click my mouse and view the source code for the page that was showing me the credit card fields. I was shocked to find out that the credit card information was not going to be transmitted securely even though their site says that it is. I then closed my browser.
The next day, I decided to call the retailer and I received the same person on the phone that I spoke with before. When I pointed out the facts to them regarding that their site was not securely transmitting ANY data to the server, the person became very rude and extremely defensive. I remained calmed and explained to them that I did not feel comfortable entering my credit card info online. The person then rudely asked me to give them my credit card info over the phone which I didn't feel comfortable with. He then became even more upset and said he would only steal from me this weekend. At this point, I hung up and decided to report this to the BBB.

"I received my order from Bestpricecameras.com and happily, I can say that everything was in order and I am very pleased with my choice. However, the customer service left a lot to be desired. I called to place my order over the phone because I wanted to be sure the item was in stock, and at that point I was told that the price for the camera package I wanted DID NOT include the $50 rebate, so my actual cost was going to be the price on the site plus $50. This was not mentioned anywhere on the page where the item was displayed, but I did later find it stated in their Company Policies section of the site. I think it would have been much clearer if it was actually on the page with the item. The site also quoted $30 for UPS Ground Shipping for the package, yet, when I received my order, I noticed that they had charged me $39 for shipping instead. I did not order any other items, so I don't know why they charged me more for shipping. I am still awaiting an response to my e-mail questioning that. I sent the e-mail on 6/14 and today is 6/17 and I've gotten no response, so their turnaround isn't great. Lastly, I was told by my sales person that orders ship in 24-48 hours and that they don't bill you until it's ready to ship. I placed my order on 6/7, was billed on 6/8, yet the item didn't ship until 6/10. Overall, I am happy with the merchandise, but very dissatisfied with the level of customer service and would not recommend this retailer to anyone. The aggravation just isn't worth it. "
"Best Prices Cameras is a horrid experience. Here's how it went down for me (and your experience will likely be the same): You place your order online. A day later you receive an email claiming your shipping address could not be verified with the credit card company and that you must call the store to confirm your address. The credit card has nothing to do with this, it is merely a ruse to get you on the phone. During the phone call, they will push hard to sell you accessories, including some accessories which come with the camera such as a battery. They told me that the camera did not come with a battery, even though the website says it does. They might also tell you the battery that does come with it is very poor and doesn't last very long. If you want to get your camera, you should buy these overpriced accessories. If you don't, like I didn't, you'll get off the phone expecting your camera in about 8 days. Around the time you're sitting at home waiting for the UPS man, you'll get an email informing you that your camera is backordered and that another shipment should arrive in 6-8 weeks. If you call them up at this point and pretend to want to order a camera, they'll tell you the very camera you ordered previously is in stock and can ship out the very next day.
This company is deceitful. I didn't actually get anything from them in the end, so I don't know if they actually bait and switch, but I do know that unless you buy enough overpriced accessories to bring the cost of the camera up to what you'll pay elsewhere, you'll never get it. SPEND YOUR MONEY AT A MORE REPUTABLE STORE. This is not the only Brooklyn, NY camera shop that runs this scam -- stay away from New York based stores. I have heard B&H is a good store. (http://www.resellerratings.com/seller_info.pl?seller_id=1914&comment=206314)"
"All of the previous reviewers are correct. You cannot buy the basic item advertised. In a few words, "bait and switch".
"
"The product they try to sell is just the body or shell. Nothing is included. If you do not add battery or cables, the product never ships. Stay away from this vendor."
"This store runs a scam where they advertise cameras for a very low price calling it a "sale", allow you to place an order and then, when you call to confirm the shipment has been made, they unload the truth for you. Here is the conversation I had with a salesman with name (alias) Victor:
Victor (no introduction, no greeting): What's your order number?
Me: It's 'so-and-so'.I would like to make sure the shipment has been made as I have not heard from you guys and I paid for next day air.
Victor: One moment...We need you to verify your shipment address with your credit card as it's different from billing.
Me: I never had to do this before, and I often have goods shipped to a different address... But OK, I'll do that. Will you then ship the camera today?
Victor: OK, so you ordered the Canon Rebel XT... Do you want any memory cards with it?
Me: No.
Victor: Any batteries?
Me: No, the camera should come with a battery as they always do.
Victor: No, this one doesn't. Are you familiar with what we are selling here?
Me: Well, I thought the US package on this camera includes the battery.
Victor: The US package cost more. This is body only, that's why the price is so low. The battery would be an extra $160 (or so).
Me: I'd like to cancel my order please.
Victor: OK, but have you seen sellers with prices lower than ours?
Me: I have seen sellers more reputable than you, that's for sure.
Victor: Are you saying we are not reputable? Are you saying we are running a scam here?
Me: Sure seems like that.
Victor: Oh yeah? Well, I'd like to see you say that to my face, you...
Me: You bet I would.
Click.
So I've learned my cheap reseller lesson - don't be fooled by low prices from crooks such as BestPriceCameras.com. And make sure you call your credit card if you did cancel an order with them. I wouldn't bet on them not trying to charge it anyway."
"I placed this order 2 weeks ago and have not been able to get any confirmation or response whatsoever out of this seller. The only reply to my several emails is that I have to call their customer service number. Their number is always busy; I either get a busy signal or a recording telling me to call back later. I feel they do not want to sell me the camera at the advertised price since I did not buy any overpriced accessories."
"DO NOT BUY FROM THEM! December 2nd placed the order for a camera, applied for 3 days shipping, did not received any call/e-mail for confirmation, so I wrote them on December 5th asking info. They wrote back same day saying I had to call them to confirm the order. I did.
They first tried to sell a battery package that I refused, then they said the item "coming from China" was OUT OF STOCK and it would have taken 4 weeks, so they tried to offer same camera "US version" for almost twice as much. I cancelled order and loss time. I recommend you search somewhere else."
"Nothing but a scam. Don't waste your time with them. Three days after placing my order online I received an email asking me to call to confirm my order. When I called, the gentleman asked if I wanted to buy a battery or any other accessories. When I said no, just the video camera, he informed me the item was back ordered. I said that was no good, I guess I better buy from someone else, and he said okay and said he would cancel the order."
"BEWARE! They are bunch of crooks that run a multitude of related and ever-changing on-line stores based in Brooklyn NY. Their "too good to be true" prices also attracted my attention. However, I did my homework before ordering:

My advice: call them BEFORE placing any order and you will find out exactly what I did: if it's too good to be true, it probably is.
