"I ordered a camcorder (Canon Optura 600) and a four hour battery from Best Price Camera. They assured me that they would deliver before Christmas. The extra battery was delivered to me alone so I called to check on the camera, tallked to three different persons - one assured me the camera had not been ordered and wanted to sell me the "retail version" for 200 dollars more. The other two assured me the camera had been ordered and would be delivered within 2 weeks. After almost 2 weeks I called again to be told that the camera was not instock and was on backorder but assured me that the camera would not be delivered by Christmas. This person agreed to cancel the order immediately. I then went online to several comparative shopping sites, and saw BEST PRICE CAMERA ads listing the camera for lower prices than I had agreed to pay. I believe that this company is not to be trusted , that they use deceptive selling practices and urge others to think twice about dealing with them."

"Worst experience ever online. Ordered, wanted to confirm day later, really wanted sell additional items. After informing them I only wanted camera, they said it was an OEM item not Retail. 90 day warranty instead of year. Still wanted camera, a week later they cancel my order because they now say they oversold. DO NOT PURCHASE from this company, virtually no customer service."

"Folks Stay Away From This Company (if you can call them that)! In my opinion, these people are fraudulent liars! I am just totally discussed by my experience! I am astonished that companies are allowed to do business this way and I am filled with anger when I think about how many unknowing customers are being taken advantage of. This company is basically a bait and switch (or bait and lie) organization. I attempted to order a camcorder on there web page. A day after placing the order I received an email asking me to call and conform my order. When I called they tried to sell me accessories by telling me that the camcorder did not come with a battery. At this point I immediately knew they were lying and immediately canceled my order. I decided to recall them and see what would happen if I place the order over the phone. Almost the same result, but this time they said the battery that comes with the camera only last 25 minutes. Yet another complete lie! When I expressed that I didn’t want to purchase any accessories they guy became very rude and put me on hold for about 10 second and than came back and told me they were out of stock and abruptly hung up. So I decided to wait a couple of minutes and try again just to see what would happen this time. Again I expressed that I didn’t need the accessories, but this time the guy asked if I wanted the Malaysia version or the English version. What kind of question was that? I said English and they said it was $749 for the English version compared to the $519 list on the web page. At this point I was just at loss for words and filled with rage due to the lies I was told. If you do not buy over priced accessories they will not sell you the product and lie about why. These people should be in jail! I have decided to keep calling them and recording all of the phone conversations. After I have collected sufficient evidence I will be contacting my family attorney. My guess is they will change their name or claim bankruptcy before that time just so they can avoid legal actions."

"Sorry I didn't find your site sooner. Here is content of letter submitted to credit card co: "I spent alot of time deciding on which camera & company to buy from. Spoke several x's to Ted at BestPriceCameras before ordering. He answered all questions +. Chose Canon S2 based on price & info given about pkg plans. Ordered camera 8-19-05 to include pkg #3: CANON S2, 512MB CARD..the upgraded PQI mem card supposedly worth $150 sold for $75, on other sites sells for $31-50..Not even close to $150 nor reduced price of $75 that BPC claims. PQI card worth closest to the $75 is the High spd 60x (ranging $30-$80)-NOT card I received.
DELUXE CASE(strap broke 1st day used), CARD READER; LENS CLEAN KIT; SCREEN COVER; TELEPHOTO LENS(Wrong lens..Won’t fit camera); FULL SIZE TRIPOD; WRIST STRAP; ADAPT TUBE.

Back to purchase day: asked if camera would be sent that day, as was leaving for Europe soon. He assured me it would ship sometime that day. When I was about to hang up, he encouraged me to upgrade the 512SD card to a higher speed/perform card & all the reasons why; that it was worth $150 & if included in the order would be only $75 … I said no, as beginner to digital I'd rather wait. He then added that the telephoto lens that came with pkg 3 would also be upgraded along with the mem card upgrade, if I'd buy the supposed $150 PQI card for $75.(a total misrepresentation of value of one sent) Not knowing any difference at the time, believed him & finally agreed.

I asked that an email be sent with the
transaction/receipt. He said one would be sent as well as the shipping notice when shipped. All other companies I order from, send confirmation notice within secs.-mins via email. If back ordered or out of stock, I always get a notice via email/postcard stating the delay. None came from this company. Only the ship date/no. arrived more than a wk later. No email receipt ever came. More than a week went by -no camera. When I called was told that it was being shipped that day-- Aug 25th to arrive the 31st.

When the package arrived several things were amiss. The sales slip left much to be desired: no “breakdowns” of what is paid for. I can’t make the figure match to what I expected to pay which was the package price of $589 + $30 shipping + $150 (is what I was told on the phone the 1st x I called inquiring about the S2) for the 5 yr ext warranty & $75 for the supposedly upgraded memory card & lens. This equals $844 not $869… but how is one to tell with this receipt … worst I’ve ever received from ANY company.

Sept 1, called to see what was happening with the missing items. Spoke to Alex who kept interrupting me while I was trying to explain the late arrival date, missing items, lack of email invoice. He said other items were coming separately. There was no indication of this anywhere. He was nonplused when I mentioned the value of PQI card not being what was stated to me. He put me on hold to inquire about the lens, asked me to return the one received. I asked if they were sending a ship label (via email) or how were they going to pay to have it returned. He laughed, told me I was funny & that no one had ever asked him to pay for the return… to which I said, “This was not my error.” For what he assumes is a little amount, he said he would pay out of pocket. Never have I had a company not pay for the shipping on an error they made, a few tell you to keep the product & will send the correct one, as well. Of course, I didn't expect this. Returning something does take time (time--of which I had little of) to package, label, drive to post office, etc. Some companies have UPS pick it up. I was appalled … no matter how much the shipping is… it is their responsibility to rectify the error.

With so many things amiss & now this attitude, I asked to speak to a supervisor. I was forwarded to a salesperson who couldn’t help. I called back, Gary answered. Have forgotten the sequence of all the transfers, but did write the names … there was a Tom, a Roger (he directed me to call Peter at EX 246. I left a message to please have him call me. No return call that day, left a message the next day, no return call … it is now 5 days later. Perhaps, they were closed for the
weekend, though website states they're open on Sundays. Needless to say, with all the phone calls, transfers and poor, in my experience, business practices, I became worried about receiving any of the missing items. As I'm leaving today for Europe for 3 weeks, I felt I best report the matter to you, the credit card company, since I wouldn’t be able to deal with them until I return… and then who knows what..."

Issue settled with them; they refunded small amount not close to what should've been. I was too tired dealing with them after so many phone calls & rude salespersons, just wanted it done. No business with them ever again. Agree with other reviewer:"They need to be stopped."

"This store is just plain criminal. Tried to purchase a Panasonic Plasma HDTV (TH-42PHD8UK) from them. They had me call to confirm the order, then proceeded to try and upsell me on everything (stand, speakers, cables, wall mount, extended warranty, etc.). This continued until it reached the point where they told me that the TV only had a 7 day warranty on it (despite their site saying all products have a full US warranty, which is one year's parts and labor in this case, according to Panasonic), and that the TV needed some weird proprietary power cable and it wasn't included (again, not true - check Panasonic's website and you'll see, of course, that the power cable is included). At this point, I cancelled the order. Stay well away from these guys (also known as infinitiphoto.com and jandkcameras.com)."

"Please believe everything that you read in others' reviews.

Though I did receive my camera, I consistently was upsold, misled about when my product would ship, and had gear mis-shipped.

I never received any confirming information from BestPrice Camera, other than my credit card being charged.

Their customer service was (when you could get
them on the phone) abusive, dismissive and completely unhelpful. When some of these characteristics are pointed out, they'll become quite defensive, but in no case are they going to get the customer the info that they need.

Of the gear ordered, only five items (out of about 10) were shipped. One, a premium lens was never shipped, and wasn't going to be shipped. The order for this was cancelled. As of today's date (12/5/05) I'm still waiting on two other items -- after shipping an incorrect item, they've held these last two until I return the mis-shipped item -- at my own cost.

Please, don't do business with this company.

"I ordered a fujifilm s9000 at the end of Oct. I called before placing my internet order to make sure it was in stock. It was the man told me. I got a "confirmation" call from Bestpricecameras a week later. I returned it and refused the extra kit they attempted to sell me. two weeks go by. nothing. i call again. Ben says i haven't confirmed the order. He attempts to sell me expesive lithium batteries claiming that the s9000 need them. No, the camera takes AA batteries, I say. He insists that it has been upgraded from the s7000 to better batteries. I refuse the batteries. Two more weeks go by--no camera. I call again to ask why. It is backordered, Peter tells me. I cancel my order. It is December 2nd, I've missed using the camera for my final project of the school quarter, and I get no apology from Peter.
Never EVER shop this shady shady store.
O yes, the cancellation email Peter gave me did not include my order number, or my name. I wouldn't be surprised if they try to charge my Credit Card anyways. I've cancelled it, but that won't stop them.

"Hopefully you can avoid making the mistake I made a couple days ago.

Do not go with Bestpricecameras.com. What they basically do is try to hustle you into agreeing to a deal that is different than the order you made.

2 days after ordering a Nikon D50 camera kit, I receive a email saying crypticly that my order was on hold until a confirmation by phone. I left a message that was not returned and reached them the next day to be told that the camera doesn't come with a battery and I needed to choose a battery for the camera (low hundred $ or high hundred $ was the choice I had to pick from). This was bringing their prices higher than Amazon. When I said that this was not specified on the website and is very unusual for such a camera, the saleperson said that all D50s are sold like that and he knows cause he just bought 3 for the holidays. This smelled like a big lie to me. So I said I was going to call right back and then the guy became pushy and aggresive telling me that he can't keep the order on hold forever. This was too obvious of a scam so I asked him to cancel the order. He was now pretty rude and said that he was going to go ahead and charge "the cancellation fees". When I called this dishonest and said I was refusing to pay whatever charge, he tried to make me feel like the bad guy and finally passed me to a "manager" who rushed me with a barrage of bull at 200mph without letting me finish half a sentence then hung up.

I guess you got the idea.

"I ordered a Canon digital camera from this site and received an email from bestpricecameras.com indicating that I needed to call to confirm my order. After getting a busy signal on my first five attempts, I finally got through to talk to "William." He then asked me which battery I wanted, and when I told him that the battery was included in the camera price from every other retailer, he was extremely rude. However, purchasing the battery made the purchase price of the camera equivalent to what I would pay at Best Buy. After I hung up the phone I had a bad feeling about the company, so I immediately called back and was put on hold for 10 minutes. When William responded I told him that I would like to cancel my order. He argued but eventually said ok. I then asked if I would be charged any fee for cancelling. He said no, and I asked once more whether there was any cancellation fee. He said "since you've asked 4 times I guess I better ask my manager." He returned later and said there was 6 percent restocking fee. I said I didn't want to be charged and he hung up on me. I am waiting to make sure that I haven't been charged, but if I have I will be reporting them. This company is shady and engages in extremely fraudulent behaviors. The staff is incredibly rude, unprofessional, and condescending. Don't waste your time. "

"in consideration, I have decided not to use bestpricecameras.com for my purchase.

After reading all these terrible reviews about bestpricecameras.com - I decided to explore them out myself.
and sure enough they are as low as everyone here has already known.
I feel bad for those who will eventually fall in their trap.
these guys are fishing for suckers.

I called and asked them about a PV-GS400 which I am dying to get.
I asked about the low on-line price they have it posted at: $789 and $35 shipping
I said isn't that a little too low for that Cam? they said no - that is what they sell it for.
I said Ok. would you be able to:

1. Ship it by tomorrow - end of business day
2. in an unopened box - Brand new exactly as it came from the factory.
3. With a Standard Panasonic Warranty (90 days, 1 year)

he said: it is a 30 day warranty.
he said: what else do you want with the camera - lens, battery, warranty ?
I said: nothing right now- thank you.
He said: it only comes with a 15 minute test battery.- which battery do you want?
i said: Is that how it ships from the factory.
he said: yes.
I said: I am not sure about that.
he said: let me see if we have it in stock.
(five minutes later)
"We don't have it in stock, sorry man"

"Horrible customer service. Completely illiterate CSR. Haven't learnt any manners in their life. I called up and they start immitating my indian accent. I immediately cancled the order (same day). Told me that they are going to charge 10% restocking fees. Hah !.. for an order that has not even been confirmed. "

"I was "trying" to purchase a nikon d50 from these guys and thought it was a good deal.. almost to good to be true. I ordered it on 10/20/05 and got a confirmation/verified email. OK fine. Personally im used to buying stuff online with respected retailers like the Apple store, where once you place an order online its shipped out that day or first thing in the morning so i was to worried about placing the order. Well, after a couple days of checking my bank acc waiting for the transaction i tried looking for a tracking center on there site because they were closed ( some holiday i never heard) ,it doesn't exist. At that time i was becomeing impatiant. they were closed basically the whle week. i finally got a hold of them 7 days later after waiting a good hour on hold. then forwarded to 2 people (victor was his name). he tried selling me outragously expencive batteries, saying the stock one last 20 mins and the extended warrenty for 300$, i refused all them and ended up somewhat satisfied, he gave me 2 day sipping because its been a week and i said thank you and good bye.. well in the next 5 mins i recieved an email saying it was placed on back order for 6 weeks! i call the guy back and before i introduce myself i ask if they had any of the kits that i ordered in stock... they did, so i asked why im on back order for 6 weeks... he said YOUR kit is on back order and that he could sell me the same thing right now for 300$ more than the listed kit price.. I wanted to argue with him but i knew it wouldn't do anything so i told him to cancel my order imedietly. good riddance.
i ended up going to a store and buying it full price but knowing that your not getting screwed is worth the extra money.
Don't waste your time with this site.. this site has to be breaking some laws and should be taken down..

"I am so glad I came across this site. Like so many others, I too was tempted by bestpricecamera's low prices.

Three days after ordering a Panasonic GS400, I call them to enquire the order status and I am made to listen to some stupid music for 20 minutes and then the guy who picks up the phone passes it to another and another. I talk to three different guys, listen to music four times, waste my 40 minutes and hang up.

I send a mail to them complaining about the curt and unprofessional behavior at the customer care and I get an automatic response email.

Next day, I again call them and again fail to talk to a human even after 20 minutes. You'd understand that this kind of behavior makes you feel like the biggest idiot on this earth. I try for one last time and this time a guy asks me if I'd have a 2 hour battery or a 4 hour one. I am shocked. He tells me that they can only ship the camera with at least a $300 battery. The fun thing was that the guy himsself appeared too keen on getting the order cancelled - "I can cancel your order if you don't want the battery". This much rudeness was too much for me, I cancelled my order.

All the strong emotions expressed by all the reviewers are completely justified.

They are a bunch of unprofessional, discourteous, dishonest crooks who bring down the credibility of internet shopping.

Throw your money down the drain if you will but never ever buy from this bunch of rowdy robbers.

"These folks are classic bait and switchers. They showed up as the lowest price for the Canon SD400 camera by $25. I placed an order only to find that they take the battery and charger out of the manufacturers box! It must be ordered separately. There is no mention of this on the web site - in fact, it says that the camera is " BRAND NEW and FACTORY FRESH (unless otherwise specified)", but there is no other specification listed.
They also promise a free tripod and camera case with your order. Bait and switch - to get the battery you lose the tripod and case. No mention of that either on the web site.

Don't get caught by these guys like I did.
