"Called BestPriceCameras.com about my camera order after 1 week, the order ("new unopened" Nikon D50 camera body) hadn't been shipped and Chris in customer support said I needed to buy a separate battery for the camera because it wasn't included. I checked with Nikon and they said the camera comes with a battery and charger and it was a scam to add $80+ to the bill. Needless to say I cancelled my order. Be careful with this reseller."
"Dishonest, misrepresenting goods. I was trying to compare prices for a Sony digital camera which normally includes a rechargeable battery in the package. They sell the camera without the battery, then charge an extra $50 or $100 to sell you a battery."
"Purchased online Oct 3 at a very low price and because of the Jewish Holidays was not contacted again until Oct 6, when the sales person tried to get me to buy all these extra item along with the camera. I told him no I just wanted the body and he then told me it would be three weeks for delivery. Three weeks, the site said it was iavailable? I immedatiatly told him to cancel the order and he replied "ok, it"'s cancelled" and just hung up. No futher explainations, just hung up. I called my credit card company and they said no charges had been placed, but I will keep checking, because for some reason I don't trust these guys any more. I have also emaiedl the company and recieved no reply as of yet and don't expect to."
"AVOID THIS @$#&@!!! STORE LIKE THE PLAGUE.
Ordered a Samsung R6168W 1080P HDTV from these SOBs 2 weeks ago. They e-mailed to confirm the order then nothing (I was expecting a call to verify my payment info). After 4 days of waiting I called them. Sure enought they had yet to process my order. I gave them the needed info then watched for my card to get billed. A week and a half later I call back for an ETA. The guy was VERY ruda and basically told me I was stupid for asking for an ETA on a backordered item. Never mind the fact that they never contacted me to tell me it was backordered, nor do they provide a way other than the 800 number to check order status.
Anyway, even though the next best price will be over $100 more I am going to cancel my order tomorrow. To hell with them."
"Receieved the above order no. on 9/22. Called in to see if I could get a tracking no. soon after and got a sales guy who said they were out of stock. Was very curt and not the lease bit helpful. I asked when the item would be in stock and he said maybe in a couple of weeks. I then relayed the info to my son and he called and they told him that the order had been cancelled, which I did not do. Totally worthless site and dishonest sales personell. "
"BestPriceCameras is a scam shop. I ordered a Canon SD400. Right after I placed my order, I got a call from a "sales rep" asking me what kind of battery I wanted with the camera, the $30 or the $40 one. I asked, "Doesn't the camera come with a battery?"
He said, "Nope, but this battery comes with a charger, so it's a good deal!"
Classic bait and switch scam.
Eight days later I still hadn't received a shipment notification or a tracking number, so I called customer service. After waiting on hold for 20 minutes, I was told, "It's shipping today! Well, either today or tomorrow."
"Which is it?", I said.
"Today. You'll get a tracking number at 6:00."
After no tracking number came, I called back and was told the same thing. "Today or tomorrow." At that point I said, "Well since it hasn't shipped yet, I want to cancel my order."
I was told that I could not cancel my order because "It's already in the shipping dept. We can't go through 900 boxes and find yours. Plus there's a 10% cancellation fee."
The more I tried to pin them down, the more rude and downright threatening they became.
I finally ended the call by telling them they'd better not ship it, because I intend to have my credit card reverse the charges and that if it came, I was going to refuse delivery.
I have a feeling that this fiasco is far from over.
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH BESTPRICECAMERAS.COM!"
"TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! I got ripped off. I ordered my camcorder with a 4 hour battery....ended up paying the same as I would if I went to Circuit City and they did not SHIP IT!! SO now I am stuck with a $1,000 camera and a 1 hour battery that will not work for me. They were so mean to me I am in tears! I can't believe people can be so evil and cruel. SCAM!!"
"Simply put, find another store to do business with. This place is not worth the hassel."
"Item: Panasonic camcorder gs150. It is the same story as other user: battery, ac adapter are not included in the package. salesman tried to sell the package with the battery. keep asking if I want to buy a charger, battery, and upgrade. It turned out the product is backorder for 2 weeks. when I talk to the other salesperson, he said only the kit (w/battery) is in stock.
You get what you pay for. for me, it was a camcorder without any battery nor charger which should be included."
"sold a foreign camera which cannot be repaired in Us. dishonest about warranty and wouldn't accept return of product stating it was part of a package deal and the whole purchase could only be returned with a 15% restocking fee. Agreed to try and appease me with sending me additional products that were of inferior quality. By the time I received the additional products, I was beyond the 7 day return period and they threatened not to accept return of products. Dishonest untrustworthy people to work with. Beware."
"Tried to cancel the order, but the customer service person was, to begin with, rude and unacommodating. They said they can't cancel the order because it was already processed. But calling the bank revealed they didnt charge me yet. I am very confused with their business practices, they say their policy is truth in advertising, but thats truth bordering on swindling naive people out of their money. They said camera and lens, so, thats all you get, no manual, no cd, not even a battery and charger, and they charge you for the battery and charger the same amount you pay for the camera, you end up paying more than the street price of the camera."
"What a horrible experience. I ordered a Canon SD500 at what looked like a great price. I was then called by a rep asking me to contact my credit card company to attach my shipping address to my card. When I called them back as instructed, I was then asked "What battery do you want with this camera?" I said "Do you mean to tell me that this camera does not come with a battery?" He said "No it does not." He said that I could order one of two different batteries, which appeared to be very expensive, around $80. I then said "Cancel my order." I'll never try and purchase anything from them again."
"I did things backwards -After placing my order I started checking up on this store. I became concerned after checking the NY BBB. This store has the same address in Brooklyn as Infinety camera whose BBB info was negative. Now I was suspicious. Then I came upon this site and called and cancelled my order(I hope). Bottom line is that it is not worth it to deal with a company that is run like this. I have used Beach Camera.com and they were great. I'm not entirely sure what this store is about, but "buyer beware"
"
"I have never been treated so poorly before in my life. Salesperson was rude and insulting on the phone, even going so far as to call me names.
Prices seem too good to be true, because they are. Equipment that comes standard from other stores and the manufactuer were expensive "extras" even though they were listed on the product specs page. Apparently, I am "stupid" for expecting the parts listed in the product specifications to actually come with the product."
"I placed an order on August 02, 2005 via the website. The order number was 336201. I was contacted by phone by a representative of the company who said he was a customer service representative but was what I would consider a high-pressure salesman.
He told me that I had to order the filters for the lens. He implied that if I did not order them with the camera I would not be able to take pictures. I have been taking digital photos for years now and have never had to use a filter on any camera. I declined to order them and then I decided to check this out with the manufacturer. I was told that I absolutely do not need any filters for the camera in order to use it. The filters are only for achieving certain desired effects in your picture taking.
Next he asked me whether I wanted to purchase the 3 year or 5 year extended warranty with the camera. I asked him what the standard warranty on the camera was and he stated that it is 14 days but by the time I receive the camera I will only have ten days remaining. I declined this and again decided to check this out with the manufacturer. I learned that all Konica Minolta cameras come with full 1 year warranties and that extended warranties are available through the manufacturer as an optional purchase.
I was then told that it would be four to six weeks before I would receive my camera. UPS Ground delivery normally only takes 7 to 10 days. When I asked why it would take so long I was told that the camera comes from out of the country and it would just take that long to get it. It is my feeling that the delay is because I declined to purchase anything else.
Being that this was my first order with the company I don't know if this is standard procedure. I will say however that I consider this to be very poor customer service. I was deliberately misled if not outright lied to about the need for the filters and the length of the warranty. There is nothing on their website that says anything about lengthy shipping delays and I am very doubtful that it takes that long to fulfill an order. I am seriously considering contacting the Better Business Bureau in regards to this matter as well as several of the on-line review sites where I learned about your website in the first place."
