"I recently purchased a Canon Digital Camcorder from www.bilibi.com and I wanted to let you, a ratings site, know the type of problems that I had with the transaction. I am hoping that this letter will make your reputable company aware of the dealers that you promote and hopefully
to help you to determine whether these types of dealers should again be made to appear as reputable. I have had the product for less than a week. Overall I am happy with it so far, but unfortunately the bad taste that I have in my mouth for this camcorder and the company that sold it to me will not go away.

On December 7th, I called bilibi.com to ask some questions and spoke to Joe at x310 and purchased a Canon ZR70 camcorder with the extras. I was promised a ac/dc charger, 5 tapes, a case, and a 5 hour battery with the camera. I paid an extra $60 for the two day shipping on the order.

On December 8th, I pulled up the online invoice and discovered that the invoice stated a 2.5 hour battery. I called the 1800 number and spoke to Randy. She promised that she would fix the problem.

On December 9th, again the online invoice had not been corrected. I e-mailed customer service of the problem. Several hours later, when I had not been acknowledged by customer service, I called and again spoke to Randy. She stated that her manager had corrected the order and that I would receive a 5 hour battery, but that they were unable to correct the invoice. She told me not to worry.

On December 10th, I received the box -- with a 2.5 hour battery in it. I called the 1800 number and was told that I needed to call during business hours if my call concerned a problem with an order.

On December 11th, I called Tino at Bilibi.com customer service. I was told that I got such a good deal that it did not matter what the others had told or promised me, he told me that he was the manager and had no bosses, and refused to give a name, address, and phone number of the owner or corporation. He told me that he was going to put me "on hold for good" -- and he put me on hold and did not pick up again. I have not been able to get through to the company since.

I purchased this camcorder from Bilibi not only because of the price but because of how the company had been rated on the internet. There were cheaper options on this particular camera available to me, however I trusted the ratings that I had viewed and those other companies had not been rated as highly.

I realize that I am only one consumer and that contacting you might not accomplish anything, but I feel cheated, lied to, and abused. I am hoping that your influence can help these types of problems from occurring again to others. I found this situation so stressful and difficult that it will be a while before I consider purchasing any electronics. Please help me to feel safer in my online purchases, from any company, of any products.

"The worst. I ordered two video cameras from them. They assured me they were in stock. They accepted my order and sent me a confirmation.

Later that same day, they called to "verify" the credit card number. Then they proceeded to sell me extra unwanted items such as warranties, extra batteries, etc. I explained that these camcorders were Christmas gifts and that I did not need any extra items.

When they accepted the fact that I was not going to buy any addiitonal items, the sales person said that the items would arrive in 3-5 weeks as they were on backorder. I told him that I had a confirmaiton number and paid for next day shipping. He said sorry - that they had sold out earlier. He then went on to say that if I was to buy an extra package, he was sure that he could "come up with the cameras" to get to me by Christmas. IF NOT, HE SAID HE WOULD HAVE TO CANCEL THE ORDER! Needless to say I cancelled.

I went down and bought from Kellum & Son in Dallas. I will never do business with a company such as bilibi.com. They are rats.

"Typical scam. Ordered a Sony Cyber Shot DSC-F717 which is listed as "In Stock" on bilibi.com. Got an e-mail with subject "Bilibi Processing Difficulties" asking to call the Billing Dept. One is then passed on to a sales person that tries to sell accessories. Upon refusal, the camera is not available anymore, but will ship in 3 weeks. I subsequently cancelled the order by e-mail."

"I bought a Nikon camera, and was told there was a 1 year waranty. Had a problem within the first 3 days, they fixed it. Had a problem 4 months later and was refered to Nikon. Nikon indicated that the camera was a GRAY MARKET camera, which was not authorized to be sold in the US. It has been 2 months and I still can not get Bibibi to fix it or replace it, or take any responsiblity!"

"This is a terrible company! I phone and ordered an "available" camera. I received by email confirmation and was told that my order would be shipped out in less than a week. Well, three weeks later and many phone calls resulted in my cancelling the order. Each time I heard a different reason from the rude salesperson why my shipment was delayed and that it would be arriving in 3 - 5 days. They also asked me if I wanted to buy accessories during my 3rd call to check on my purchase.... what nerve! Don't waste your time with this company...literally."

"My experience was a serious let-down. Their site indicated stock on a Canon G3. I went to the site on a Friday and ordered quickly, no problem.
Then, the next day or so, I got a call from them, supposedly to confirm my order. However, it was really to sell me more stuff. But that's not the bad part. When I declined, I was told that the camera would be 4-6 weeks!!!!!

I suspect that they were saving their limited inventory for customers that order a bunch of high priced accessories. The next day, when I called back to cancel the order (~ 30 minute wait on the phone), they asked if I would like the "kit". When I inquired, I learned that they have the cameras in kits, but not sold separately.

This bait and switch tactic is unethical and should have some sort of consequence. Unfortunately, this comment is the only outlet I have.

"Had no problems here. Ordered Sony DSC-P10 digital camera from their website on Friday, July 25th at advertized price and no accessories and received order confirmation. Received shipping notice on Wednesday, July 30th. UPS delivered on Friday morning, August 1st. The camera was in factory sealed, unopened package, and in excellent condition. Excellent transaction! I will do business with them again."

"Yes, I knew about the bad reviews, but with credit card protection, and the lure of an Olympus C-5050 delivered for ~$550.00 I had to at least try. I made sure that the camera was a new US model and wondered if I had screwed up. Well, there was the required hard sell pitch, but don't be stupid. Anyone selling a retail $699.00 camera at this price has to try to recoup some money! Everything went well. All I bought was the camera. Ordered 6/10 received 6/17. Everything was perfect. Camera was new in the box US model with everything normally included with this camera. I was concerned, but Bilibi has delivered on all promises. Ted, my salesguy was professional and couteous. I figure as long as you use a credit card, you can dispute any problems."

"I ordered a Sony dsc f717 through their web site. One day later I was asked to call back to confirm the order, which I did. On the phone, I was recommended to buy some accessoreis. I said I would buy later if I needed them. Then I was told that the order will be shipped out in 3 to 4 weeks because the camera is still in Japan. However, their web site indicates that the product is available. I canceled the order. It is better to call them before make any order with this company. Otherwise, you will lose your credit card information. "

"Copy of text sent to BBB of Metro New York:

On 4/15/03 Priceline.com showed bilibi.com had the Sony camera IN STOCK. I ordered the camera early on 4/15 and chose 2-day shipping to receive the camera by the end of the week. George did not inform me that bilibi would be closed 4/16-18 and that this would delay the processing and shipping of my order.
On 4/21 I inquired about the status of my order. I was told by Frank that the camera would ship TODAY. At this time 2-Day shipping was cancelled for ground service.
On 4/28 the camera had still not arrived. I spoke to Ted who informed me that the camera shipped TODAY. I expressed my displeasure with this situation and was informed rudely that I could send the camera back, and that there was a waiting list of customers who would take the camera. After continuing to express that this was unacceptable, I was informed to call customer service.
I called back, spoke to Steve, and relayed the details of my transaction. He immediately offered to credit the shipping charge. He did not say, "the difference between 2 day and ground" or any other statement to that affect. Since the 2-Day arrangements were cancelled on 4/21, I expected the credit to be for the FULL shipping amount.
Following up on the credit, I called bilibi.com on 5/12 and left a message with the details of my inquiry. NO RESPONSE. On the evening of 5/12, I sent an email message to their customer support address. As of Wed. 5/14 no response had been received to my phone or e-mail message.
I spoke to Steve again this morning (5/14), was informed that there was nothing he could do. He disputed the credit for shipping promise, and would not address the issue of why the camera was not shipped on 4/21 as communicated by Frank. The conversation ended with Steve hanging up on me.
I was not told correct information on 4/21, and was told that shipping would be credited on 4/28. bilibi has put themselves in this situation over $30.

"This is a dishonest company to do business with. I placed an order for a Nikon Coolpix 5700 for their advertized price. After repeated attempts to pressure me into additional packages at inflated prices, I stuck to my plans to only buy an additional battery. I have not received the camera yet (now 6 weeks later). During a phone call today, I was told that they have no intention of selling that camera at the quoted price and that I would have to add 399.00 of additional items before they would ship my order. My recommendation is to avoid this group of lying salesmen."

"First of all Bilibi.com is the same as "Priceler.com" and "Priceit4less". As most of the reviews indicate for these companies, I do concure on the fact that their contact people leave MUCH to be desired. They do either do not have the information available to them or they chose not be 'straight-up' with their customers. I was told by sales that the Fuji S2 I was looking for was in stock and would be shipped within 24hrs. I was charged withing 2 days of ordering, was then given a "UPS" tracking number that was 'vapor-ware', electronic number recognised by UPS, but with no physical package related to it. After many calls and waiting, I finally talked to the supervisor in shipping. I did not get his name, but he immediatly re-issued and new UPS tracking number, and gave FREE next-day air, delivery, so that my package arrived on time as promised from the original shipping date. The package was Full USA factory sealed, and in perfect condition. I still got a great price and was never hassled for accesories... I think that these companies need to get ISO/Q certified, that way they will HAVE to address their sales/support issues. Overall, I got exactly what I ordered at a great price, just had a few bumps to overcome but overall ended up in my favor. Not much conselation to the other reviews here, you decide."

"I was ordering a lens kit for my Kodak DC290 which consists of wide angle (lenses), macro (lenses), and adapter. I was going on a vacation on the next month which what I mentioned to the customer rep and he states that I should get it within 3 days.

My order was on March 30, 2003, today is April 28, 2003 STILL NO PACKAGE! I am so furious! Not only I never got my package for my vacation trip but they LOST IT!

I will NEVER EVER order from this company. The only person who is nice enough to talk to me at Bilibi.com was the security rep.
