"I spent a lot of time trying to find a complete party set in stock since most of the items on their site are out of stock. I had to contact them when my order shipped because they provided invalid tracking info. My order arrived and 1/2 the order they charged my card for was missing. I immediately called and was told those items couldn't be shipped because they are having difficulty managing inventory while they "move warehouses." I told them I didn't want anything since I can't throw a party for 20 with 8 plates and 8 sets of silverware. They refused to send me a prepaid return shipping label and said I would have to pay to return the incomplete order they sent me. I would have cancelled this order if I knew they couldn't fulfill it.
The customer service rep I spoke to was rude and unhelpful. Also told me she didnt have a manager I could speak to and there wasnt a robot to send email notifications about stock issues - um, what?! I'm disputing this charge with my credit card since this company has zero accountability for their inability to fulfill orders. DO NOT SHOP HERE."
"A few days after submitting my order I still had not received my tracking number. I spoke to customer service and although they were very polite were unable to provide me with a tracking number which seemed to be very odd. I was a bit concerned, however today I received my package with everything in it as ordered and it was within the estimated delivery date range. "
"We placed our order and it came quickly. I was very happy with most of the supplies and very excited to have coordinating items. Printing on the stickers wasn't centered but it was cheap so I figured it was good enough. Fast forward to a few days before the party and we decide to do a count of the supplies we ordered just to make sure since the box looked so small. Thank goodness we did! We were short about half of the plates, cups, and utensils. The packing sheet represents SOME of what we ordered, but even what we received didn't match the sheet. We called to ask if the missing items could be expedited and the customer service rep we spoke to was not at all helpful and said a manager would be in touch. She said they were out of some of the items when it shipped. Ok... so why not notify the customer? Send the missing items later? Not charge the customer in full for the missing items? Nope. Just sent it and hoped we wouldn't notice I guess. Long story short, manager never called back and we had to buy a lot of items to make sure we had enough last minute. Terrible customer service."
"This is the first time I ordered from Birthday in a box! I was fairly excited about my order coming for my kids' joint birthday party!! I ordered personalized water bottle labels from them but only two of four packs of labels were personalized. When I called to inform them that only half of my labels were personalized, they said that is how I filled out the order online. I asked them to explain to me what is personalized about a blank label? I paid for personalized labels but I received blank labels. I asked them to send me new labels filled out as I ordered them and paid for but after speaking with 2 customer service reps and the 3rd one claiming to speak to a manager about my issue, I'm stuck with blank "personalized" water labels! Their customer service is THE WORST!!! I will NEVER ORDER from them again!! I'm extremely dissatisfied and somewhat angry! They never bothered to call to get clarity on the issue or anything. I asked them why do they ask for your phone number if they aren't going to use to it clarify any issues?
I host a lot of parties and I vow to spend my money elsewhere in the future. These people upset me so badly, not to mention how I end up with only 8 useable labels for my kids' party! "
"This company charged too much on my charge card and then refused to give me the amount back. In order to return my order to get my money back I had to pay additional shipping charges for the return. Rude customer service and no desire to work with the customer. "

They charged me restocking fees and gave me partial refund. I am reporting them to my bank as fraud given it sounds like this has happened before. I am a small business owner and it is companies like this that give the community a bad name and why people go to Walmart or iparty. "I am a repeat customer this was my third and final order. Be sure if you order from this company you open your box immediately! They have a very short 10 day no exception return policy. I live in the woods and all of my packages get delivered to my sisters house and I pick them up every couple of weeks. Well since I took the websites advice and ordered the next size up, because their costumes run small, my son's batman costume that he wants to wear for his birthday party is awkwardly large and the robin costume I ordered for his baby brother has a hole in the butt. The costume was out of the package for maybe 5 minutes and because of some arbitrary 10 day policy I was unable to get this corrected for my son's birthday. They care more about their policy, which is not boldly listed, than their customers. The costumes are in the same condition they were in at 10 days but because I have a small mailbox 4 miles north of my house and two small children I am stuck with a costume that is too big and one with a hole in the butt. "
