"Ordered 3 knives (2 as gifts). After 10 days of not receiving my order, I reached out to the company. Apparently, my order had been cancelled due to a fraud alert, but that did not stop them from charging my card. They neither called nor emailed me to inform me of the issue. While they did offer me a store credit, that only forces me to buy from them and place another order. Not without getting my refund first! I'm convinced this company is a scam until I actually receive my refund."
"i noticed some 5 star reviews here sound like complete B.S. probably made by blade hq because i had terrible experience with their shipping and it was coming from the same coast 5 states away both orders took over a week all i got was excuses kept showing me a copy of tracking number but it showed ''shipping label printed'' which means it hasn't left the warehouse. they sure have a problem and i see I'm not the only one to complain"
"Blade HQ/ Grindworks= same company, same lousy service. totally ****. Back to Knifeworks I go!"
"Looking for Quality collectors Italian stilettos this outfit is just a middleman nothing in stock you order then they order and you pay the difference.
"
"OK, I ordered a Spyderco Paramilitary 3 with S30V steel, G10 plates and blacked out. I paid $171 for this to be delivered 2nd Day. I ordered the knife at 9AM Eastern Time. At 10AM Eastern Time they have this promotion on their website saying because of their anniversary they are giving stuff away. If you order X amount, you get this, Y amount, you get that, etc. I checked my order and it said processing, then I emailed and called them on March 25, 2020 asking since I just spent $171 dollars on a knife and I was recommended there by a return customer, will I be getting the swag with my order or separately? I got this on March 26, 2020
"Hi Steve, sorry about the delay. I looked into your order, and you did not receive any promotional items because they were not available yet. Our anniversary sale began at 10am MST, Tuesday morning, and your order was placed at 7:09am.
While some of the promotional items have since run out, I might be able to send you a shirt if we have your size left."
I was absolutely appalled. I just spent all this money and you people do this? WOW!
I got the knife, did not like how it felt in my hand, and immediately got an RMA to send it back and did so. I was chatting with a "customer service rep" on the Facebook Messenger and have never heard back about anything from them once I got the RMA so I waited a week. Then...
I checked my bank and I was never refunded! I once again went to Facebook Messenger and inquired about my refund. I got a canned response giving me their hours. Two days later I got the knife back with a Post It note saying the blade was "un-presentable" and had "blood" on it. I unwrapped the returned item in absolute disbelief! I opened this knife and literally returned it to the box. There was no blood on it, as you can see in the pictures below. I have emailed them, messaged them on Facebook, and have called their number over 20 times total. Nothing, not one response. What was on the blade? It was some kind of oil. How do I know this? I looked at the blade under a MICROSCOPE! Then i WIPED it off and it was lubricant.
Whoever this clown is in their warehouse who, at a whim, decides what gets a refund and doesn't should be fired. Then, I chatted with some people online about BladeHQ only to find out that they do this all the time! They don't like issuing refunds so they return the items using the "un-presentable" line. I even emailed them back saying that a friend in law enforcement had the blade checked and there is NO sign of blood OR of Luminol on the blade or handle. So who made this BS call about "blood"?
I have every message from their Facebook Messenger saved and will post that as well. They deceive customers constantly and then play like they're good to their client base. Absolute BS! Their rating on here of 2.5 stars is over rating them.
I am posting this review on every site and every blade aficionado site. They are a total scam outfit who suckers newbies in with their review videos on YouTube. They have horrible service, do not contact their customers and they are unethical. Never use this company!"
"Stop putting profits ahead of people. BHQ used to care about its customers. As a Utah based company, they have forgotten that it was Utahn's that helped them get their start. It's great that they have grown the way they have, but in growing they have done everything they can to sell more knives across the world. This is not a bad goal, but the result of their policies has led to leaving their home market underserved. They also have done little to expand their customer service department, and are still using the same inventory system that was outdated back when I worked there in 2012. I went to spend my hard-earned money on some knives this past weekend. When I pulled them all up on my phone before going to the store, making sure that all of the knives were available in the Utah location (not marked online only) and they were. When I got to the store one of the knives had changed to being online-only, and the other two, although showing as being available online, were apparently no longer available. This was the last in multiple negative experiences BladeHQ has manufactured by not taking steps to actually improve customer experiences."
"Worst service imaginable. What should be an enjoyable shopping spree turns into a nightmare when ordering from Blade HQ.
Shopping online is a simple thing. Find what you like. Pay. Sit back and have a fun time waiting for your order to arrive...
Meet Blade HQ. From demands that the customer has to email them in 24 hours, then told to call in instead of the supplier calling the customer to generally unhelpful uninterested incompetent employees that gives a crap about your order paid for by your hard-earned money that pays their salaries.
Most useless service on this planet. Employees obviously underpaid ex Mcdonald's drive-through attendants being paid to parrot instead of think. There is no service and you will regret having to deal with them. When you finally reach a senior employee they are equally unhelpful and inattentive.
Happy to post screenshots of the counterproductive communications (getting it wrong multiple times) with them. Demanding replies within 24 hours, demanding phone calls from my international location. Apparently it's a customer duty to serve and think for BHQ. We pay their salaries.
Service representatives copy and pasting unrelated emails to me. A proper s#&tshow. No means of getting assistance regardless of the issue when contacting them seems to be common practice if you read the reviews. Treating customers with suspicion and rather than a welcoming attitude.
Standard operating procedures are counterintuitive and without regard for the customer. Self-serving.
Canceled my orders and headed over to Knifecenter.com. Simple and efficient... Got 2 emails, "Thank you for your order, has been shipped and tracking details". Now why complicate things unnecessarily?"
"Was ordering an alpha beast, and paid for FedEx 2 day. Religiously checked my email for updates. Nothing. Then, 2 days later, I check my order on BladeHQ and it's cancelled. I email and ask why, and they said they email me to make sure it wasn't fraud. I double checked my inbox/spam/trash etc. and there was no email like that. I'm a little annoyed at this point, but whatever. So I placed another order(luckily they were still in stock). And the next day it hasn't shipped, so I call to see what's up, and it's being held again for some address problem. And I know all my shipping/billing addresses were correct before the first order to try and eliminate delays like that. Turns out that didn't help. They finally got everything good to go and finally shipped out the knife. I paid for expedited shipping this time so hopefully it doesn't take as long as BladeHQ took to send it out. I told them I wasn't exactly happy with the communication on their end. They just said, sorry, it happens. So, basically, I paid $25 for shipping to get the knife a week after I ordered it."
"Hi,my name is John and I ordered 2 knives from Blade HQ.I was very much satisfied and now I'll tell you why.when I first ordered I thought my knives were coming from Utah.I soon found out they weren't.My Package was in Roanoke VA.My knives left Roanoke VA at 9:27pm,they arrived in Springfield Oregon at 7:02 am on the 11th of July,a full day early.I picked them up at 4:45 that same afternoon. That is excellent service! How do I know that? I'm am a retired Transport driver with 31 yrs. experience.I know all about a coast to coast turn. Been there done that.Blade HQ went out of their way to get the ball rolling and the USPS got the job done in very, very good time. You can't ask for better service than that.Once I found out where the knives were coming from I could see why the 8 day delivery which they did one day early.I have very good things to say about Blade HQ and also the USPS I know how the post office runs their trucks and with all the switching on the relay runs they did an OUTSTANDING JOB!!!!! I say HATS OFF to both the post office and BladeHQ for a job VERY WELL DONE.l By the way for everyone to know, this is my first order with BLADE HQ,but it won't be my last.I'm looking forward to ordering more products from them. Once again,I say than you.
Sincerely John Ressler"
"STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU ONCE THEY HAVE YOUR MONEY. I will never order anything from this company again and advise anyone willing to listen to avoid them as well. Ordered knife on Friday. Was excited to see that on Monday my knife was going to be delivered. Excitement turned quickly to disappointment as my order was being returned to sender due to an insufficient address. Later that Monday I emailed the company to hopefully find out what happened and when my order may be sent out again. After two days I received a response which provided no answers as to what happened nor did I receive any kind of estimate on when my order might be sent out. After a couple more emails back and forth I still had no idea what happened, nor any idea when my order was going to be sent out. Looking back at the emails from BladeHQ, they seem deliberately evasive about when I would get my order. After receiving no answers via email I called on Thursday, the day my order was supposed to be delivered by. This call was equally frustrating as the response I received was, we will not issue you your order until we receive the original and process it which takes 4-6 days. I pointedly asked the employee on the phone so it could be anywhere from 1 week to 3 weeks to receive my order with no idea when that’s going to happen, and his response was yes. They have my money, I have no knife nor any idea when am going to get my knife. I cancelled my order and still have no idea when I’m going to get my money back if at all. "
"Blade HQ always has great prices and a wide selection of knives. Shipping is always fast! "
"My second order from BladeHQ, my knife shipped and arrived very quickly, I am very pleased!"
"I ordered what I needed and received what I needed in a reasonable amount of time, more important is; "it was what they said it was and what it came with" I have found some companies will show a picture of what you want and send you something similar or not everything in the picture.
Thank you Blade HQ "
"Slow to ship, price and quality were great."
"I keep coming back to blade HQ because of their amazing customer service and selection. Doesn’t get any better"
