"First and foremost; March 12, 2019 we booked a trip PAID IN FULL($599.00 per night) for a destination family event. July 18, 2019 we received two (2) emails from BOOKIT.COM one confirming our stay at the SONESTA All Inclusive Roof Top Butler Suite for a 5 days / 4 night stay and another with international flight information and instructions. Due to an itinerary change with the airlines, we had to drive from Kissimmee to Ft. Lauderdale Florida a day early to catch the flight to St. Marteen. We landed in St. Marteen approximately 11:25 a.m. and arrived at the SONESTA property approximately 12:15 p.m.
When we went to check in the desk clerk informed us that they had no reservation my wife and I nor any accommodation available. We were told that BOOKIT.COM never confirmed a reservation for us. After an intense discussion the clerk contacted the reservation supervisor who called BOOKIT.COM and at 12:33 p.m. BOOKIT.COM calls my phone to tell us that the SONESTA property has nor rooms to accommodate us. This was surprising, because of the attending family my wife and I were the very first to book our rooms, “PAID IN FULL” March 12, 2019. Moreover, we received confirmation emails from BOOKIT.COM. Moreover, we had traveled all the way to St. Marteen to be told that BOOKIT.COM is a third party agency that for some unknown reason NEVER MADE OUR RESERVATION. After three (3) hours and forty five (45) minutes the SONESTA property reservation supervisor found us a room on the property for 2 nights (22 & 23 July WITHOUT BUTLER SERVICES) and a very low downgraded room off the property (24 & 25 July WITHOUT ROOM SERVICE, BUTLER SERVICES and NO ALL INCLUSIVE AMENITIES)
22 July 2019, at approximately 2:05 p.m. I asked the supervisor, what was the difference in price and the amount to be refunded to me. She advised me that due to fact the BOOKIT.COM agency never booked our reservation or paid any funds to the property, SONESTA has no authority to refund us any money and informed me that the price difference would be determined according to the third party agency (BOOKIT.COM) prices and I would have to inquire with the agency of the price difference for the refund. 22 July 2019, at approximately 2:25 p.m., I asked the BOOKIT.COM agent, what was the price difference for the downgraded room and about the refund, I was informed that the price would be $228.00 per night for the two nights (24 & 25 July) and to contact the agency when I checkout 26 July 2019. Unfortunately, when I called BOOKIT.COM, per their request, the agent gave me a completely different answer pertaining to this matter. The agent informed me that the refund is to come from the SONESTA property according to their rates not BOOKIT.COM. Moreover, the property must respond to an email inquiry in order for BOOKIT.COM to release a refund in accordance to the property rates. Moreover, we will not be reimbursed for not having the services or amenities 24 & 25 July. Moreover, they have no intentions to accommodate us for the inconvenience, embarrassment and the to and from off property transportation to attend the family events held at the SONESTA property on said dates.
