"* TIPS for super-telephoto users: 1. Take care of yourself and get the insurance 2. Double-check that you have all the small things that can make or break a photo shoot: the little specialized metric hex wrenches for base plates, drop-in polarizers and other small things without which those long lenses are unusable. BorrowLenses will take care of you, but ensure your successful shoot by double-checking that all the small things are in the shipment. Better to ask twice and get once than not to check and end up in some foreign location with a lot of heavy glass you can't use.

First of all, I just want to say how grateful I am that this business exists in the first place. Because of what they do, I have been able to step up my photography to a level I never imagined. Owning a full-frame camera, the only expense I need to worry about now is renting, not buying those gorgeous shallow DOF portrait and sports lenses. I dreamt about it, and BorrowLenses created it.

I've had mostly good transactions with them. The last order didn't go so well. All human error, like the wrong polarizer sent, delivery problems because my phone number wasn't on the FedEx slip, and missing tools for mounting the lens to a base plate (see above.) They were annoying mistakes that took time away from my photo shoot, but the customer service has been more than apologetic about it, and that goes a LONG way. I get the feeling they won't make those mistakes again, but what I learned is that it is always our job as customers to make sure we help them deliver us what we want. If you have a worry, articulate it up front. Preparation is EVERYTHING in a good photo shoot, and one missing piece can blow it."

"My experience wasn't so great. In order to be approved, I had to email them a photo ID, I had to email them a copy of my vehicle registration, I had to agree to a hold on my credit card and then I had to authorize my credit card company to use my office as a second delivery location so I could have someone sign for the package. I did all of that and waited ... for over a month without being approved. The staff were friendly enough but they kept putting me off saying they would let me know by the ship date. I wasn't getting a good feeling so I finally cancelled my order and went with a shop in TN that approved me in two hours and I had the lens in 3 days. It just bugs me that I gave them so much personal information. The place in TN didn't require any of that. If it wasn't for the fact that there are so many positive reviews, I'd think it was a scam."

"My fiance rented the Nikon Nikkor 70-200 f/2.8 VR I for our first wedding engagement shoot for use on our D90. Thanks to the sites information on each lens were made the decision to order the first generation 70-200 instead of newer version, after finding out how well the original works on crop sensored cameras.
