"I called to purchase a camera from Broadway Photo for $549, then was encouraged to buy more memory, batteries, and an extended warranty. This "package" came to $968.42 but I was sold on the "free overnight shipping." When it didn't arrive the next day I attempted to get shipping/tracking information via e-mail (didn't work), via automated phone method (didn't work), and via multiple individuals who transferred me back and forth saying it was either FedEx or UPS but no tracking number.
I sent an e-mail to three company addresses, but despite their claim to respond to inquiries within 24 hours, there was never a response. When the camera arrived four days later I returned it unopened, and found via my bank they charged me $1,009.98. I never got an itemized list of charges. In disputing the transaction with my bank, they got me a credit from Broadway for $929.99; the difference of $79.99 was for "non-refundable shipping/handling." I have just filed a complaint with the BBB. This crappy company has gotten away with charging me $80 for nothing except a huge headache and a lot of wasted time.

"Beware! These guys are not honest. I tried to order a Sony Projector on Friday 08/10/07 Requested overnight shipping on Friday. I was more than willing to pay a fair pirce and did not complain about the $179 to overnight the item to get it on Monday. Got an email on Sunday morning request to call them for order review. He tried to sell me $80 batteries, a case that I didn't want, and then told me I had to pay $20 if I wanted the "American" version of the camera with English on it! He told me that I had ordered the "Japanese" one. I don't care if it's Japanese, but I only read English!

"So... It is the first time to me to be here in the USA, originally im from Russia. Im a student at the moment and a participant of Camp America Programm. I haven't my own digital camera yet, so i decided to buy it, it was Canon S5 IS. And sure i was looking for the best offer. I havent a free minute that day anyway so i called them later, but b4 i called them up ive got to know that they r scammers too >.< ive just wanted to check - it was too late... Damn. Ive been ready to quarrel them if they will try to push me usless things, but after i waited online about 5-8 minutes the guy asked my order number, i told it to him and he said "Enjoy ur camera" and hanged up the phone. Hehe. Then i recived the email that my order was shipped and they didnt taken a penny more then 397 $ (camera cost is 350 + 29 tax +18 shipping), and in a 3 days (cause of sunday) it was deliverd by ups! Camera is awesome! Everyhing is included! I dont know why they didnt scammed me, mb cause i used a credit card of my firend and he is a jewish :)))) Mb they afraid of jewish ppl? :D The only thing that i was diappointed by is their "present" its not looks like 149$, its more looks like 5$ >.< Thats all! "Unfortunately I didn’t know about this internet pages before my order in Brodway Photo. I don’t want to describe my situation because I am so disappointed. I can only verify the same company behavior like in previous examples – bad dream. In addition at the end, TAMRON 18-250 was missing (356 USD) in my mail pocket. I try to solve this situation and I will see. I am international student and people in USA have been always so kind to me and I think that USA is very nice and friendly country. But probably, every time when I take my new Pentax 100D to my hand I will mention bad dream about Brodway Photo.

"Worse customer service ever!!!!! When I called in to confirm my order, the guy said that my Canon SD1000 did not came with batteries or a charger. While their website said it did. He toll me that I need to pay 40 dollars extra. When I asked to cancel my order he said there will be a 30 dollars fee. I asked why. He reply, "we worked by the hour." I mean WTF? Yes, their price are low, and so is their customer service."
"I bought the Canon SD850 but had to cancel my order because of false online advertisement. They sent me an email saying I needed to call them to final confirm my order. I called them and they tried to sell me all kinds of things. On the website it is advertised to have all manufactured accessories and the camera, but the sales rep. tells me that it doesn't come with regular batteries. The battery life is 20mins and no charger. So he asked if I wanted the real battery and the charger. Of course, I say yes, and he quotes the total as being above $400!! Outrageous! So I asked him why is my price going up from the $274 I saw online and he said "because you added addt'l accessories". I was a bit confused at the time, so I told him I didn't want the addt'l accessories. He says Ok, thanks for the order! and hungs up on me. I was about to ask some questions. Don't think I'm ever going to use that! Never buy from them. They have a scam going on. After all this I read a review that said they didn't even get the correct camera. "
"I placed an order for a camera. They phone me and tried to upsale me. They said I need another battery and the cost was $99. I had already checked on replacement batteries for the camera and knew I could purchase one for anywhere from $6 to $10. They then told me the camera I ordered was in Japanese and I would need to pay more to get it in English. I know the camera and persaonally know that you can change the language on the camera to English. They got mad when I told them this and cancelled the order on me. They are not a reputable company."

"SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT use Broadway Photo. I plead. They are the biggest scam artists I’ve ever had the misfortune of dealing with. They reel you in with prices that they have no intention of keeping. If you doubt me, just go to their website select an item, any item id does not matter, and try to order it by phone 1-***-***-****. Do not give them any payment information!! If they can’t get you to buy a bogus updated model or fraudulent warranty, they will out right not sell it you at their advertised price or tell you that it will take seven weeks to ship.

The manufacture seal from our camcorder has been tampered. When called the customer on the same day as I received the packet, after a good 20 minuets waiting. Customer service "Neal extension #502) was very rude. They said the technician may open the box up to ensure all the product and accessories are in the box.
I called Sony and confirm my suspicious. The manufacture seal should not be broken by the seller. Broadway Photo is going to charge me an additional $30, if I want the product to be exchange.
Also the FREE digital start up kit they shipped is worth less than $10. Not the $150 that they listed in the web site.

"Total rip-off. After purchasing the camera, and paying for overnight shipping, I get an e-mail requesting I call to confirm my order. I'm told the battery that comes with the camera is not a good one, and will only last for 15-20 minutes. So they offer me one for 50% off that will last 3-4 hours, but it's $40. Then they say there is no warranty, but offer me one for $14.95 for a year. Now I'm up to $55 in crap I don't need. But, the rep remembers there is a package for $69 that includes a battery, warranty, 4gb memory card, camera case, cleaning kit and tri-pod. Sounds good, so I do it.
I received one generic battery, a cheap cleaning kit and tri-pod, and a cheap camera case. No memory card, and the total wasn't $69 dollars more, because they added shipping on after the fact. So I ended up paying $100 for $30 worth of merchandise. Not such a deal and customer service is less than impressive. I did receive my camera the following day, but after reading the reviews, I probably wouldn't have it I didn't buy all the extra crap. "
