"Do not buy from this seller! I ordered a Audio Video Receiver, which was shown as in stock. The seller called and left a voicemail to call back. Leter I got the following email from the seller:
"Thank you for your on-line purchase. We hope your shopping experience was a pleasant one.
Please contact ANGELO regarding your order at ***-***-**** ext234"
The last thing I want out of on-line shopping is to have to talk to a shady, NY camera salesman to complete my order. So I email back: "WHAT DO YOU WANT?" Then I get the same email back from the seller on 6 different occasions. Seller refused to explain in an email what it wanted, so I canceled the order. One of two things are going on here. Either they do not have the goods that I ordered (shown as in stock) or they do not want to sell the item at their discounted online price without trying to up-sell me on the phone. Either practice is shady.
"
"Do NOT order from them. I read the reviews here and thought i'd take my chances. Now first let me say, i ordered today and so cannot say anything about delivery time, etc.
After ordering, you get a call, like many here have said. I missed the first and called back later. My person was VICTOR (ext 236). He almost immediately began pressuring me into buying memory for the camera i ordered (SD800 IS). I declined because i wasn't (and i'm still not) sure of my account balance. To sum it up, he was extremely rude and invasive and i nearly snapped. He did manage to get me to buy more but if i do get what i ordered, i'll likely be happy with it. That is, if it's unopened and in perfect condition.
Seriously, DON'T take your chances with them. Even though i just ordered today, i can tell you it's just a bad idea with the service i've gotten so far."
"I bought a COOLPIX ULTRA ACCESSORY KIT with 4 gb secure digital high speed(150x) card, but in a hour it stops working. Camera show "Cannot work with such cart", computer freezes, when I'm trying to use it through card reader.
I dont know what shall i do with such card, I cant find any site of such company with "5 year warranty".
Can you help me?"
"AWESOME!!!! I dont know why other people had problems with these guys. But i ordered a brand new Casio EX-Z70 with one-year warantee on December 20, 2006. I called personally rather than ordering online to place a faster order. My sales rep was very fast and efficient with the order. He asked me what it was i wanted to order, took my shipping and billing information. He asked me one question for upsell and when i politely said "No thanks" he said okay and gave me my confirmation number. I was off the phone in about 5 minutes. I asked him when he can ship out the product because it is a birthday gift and i needed it asap. he said itll ship out the day after i place the order. I ended up recieving the product the day after i placed the order instead of 2 days after. These guys are very efficient in what they do, the product is exactly how it was described. I am very pleased with my experience with them and i will definitely do business with them again. "
"I ordered a KDS50A2000 TV online. A day later a high pressure salesman calls me up and absolutely hounds me to buy accesories and warranty. Even though I decline he persists much like a used car salesman, it was a complete turnoff! I had to threaten to cancel the order if he did not stop trying to upsell me.
Anyways, the TV arrived at the ground facility in about 8 days and the delivery was a complete nightmare. The delivery company that this company uses is absolutely horrendous. They scheduled a delivery between 10am-2pm on Fri, I took time off work to be at home and the driver stood me up. During this entire time I was being told he was stuck in traffic which was a lie. The 2nd delivery attempt was after 7pm the same day and the driver stood me up again. They blamed the issue on miscommunication with the driver...yeah right, whatever! Rescheduled for a 3rd delivery attempt on Sat between 12-12:30pm, driver stood me up again. This time their excuse was that the driver wasn't aware of the exact time so he would deliver 2:30-3pm. The driver finally showed up at 4pm!
On inspection of the package I found that the TV was open box and not a sealed factory item. The packaging tape had already been removed and the flaps of the box were open! Also, the upper thermocol was not properly affixed to the TV to protect it in shipment. Ridiculous! This shipping company is Manna Distribution Services and the local agent is Shotgun Delivery.
The TV itself did not appear damaged but you could make out it had been used before...perhaps a floor model? I paid for a brand new item and this is not what I got for sure. The TV may already have 1000 or 2000 hrs on it...I'll never really know since this model doesn't have a lamp timer.
Bottom line, stay away from this unscrupulous company. There are plenty other choices even if you have to pay a couple hundred dollars more it is worth it to avoid dealing with this company and their good for nothing shipping counterparts."
"I was somewhat hesitant to buy from them after reading the negative reviews. I wanted to purchase a Yamaha RX-2700, and after comparing the prices, I decided to try my luck. It turned out to be a nice surprise. I ordered online, and followed up with a phone call. I talked with Jim at ext. 270. He was great, very helpful, and no hard sell. I got the shipping notice the next day, and received my package on time. The packing is not as nice as Amazon or some other vendors, but the product is factory sealed and in perfect condition. Will definitely buy from them again."
"Other than "The Callback", this was an excellent transaction. A different vendor oversold the discontinued Westinghouse LVM-37W3 I'd ordered and didn't bother to tell me until the third business day. By then, most of the more reputable vendors had sold out. After checking prices again, I found that Butterfly was the only place that hadn't raised their price yet so I placed an order, figuring I'd give them a shot.
The next day, I got a voicemail and email directing me to call "George" to confirm my order. I called expecting the hard sell but didn't get any pressure. I was offered cables (said I was already set for cables and a wall mount). I was offered a 4-year warranty for 99 bucks. I declined. That was it. I was told the monitor would ship ground that day and to check my email for a tracking number. The tracking number arrived and it turned out to be 2-day DHL. (I checked my credit card and I was charged the quoted amount for ground shipping.)
The package was delivered today and the monitor works great."
"I ordered the Sony H5 digital camera. Shortly after ordering I quickly got my confirmation/receipt in E-mail. The next day I was E-mailed explaining that I needed to "contact IKEY regarding your order at ***-***-**** Ext. 247." I did not call. for the next 5 days I got at least 2 of these exact same messages as well as 2-3 calls from them wanting me to call them back. I knew that nothing was wrong because my order that I placed at the exact same time with Newegg went through promptly without hitch. So I knew that they wanted to talk to me to sell me something else.
I E-mailed them back saying this:
"I have been told to contact you. However, I work night shift and I cannot call when you are open. so if there is a problem, please contact me via phone with that problem. If not, such as you are trying to sell me something else, then please either (A) send me what I ordered OR (B) cancel my order and I will take my business somewhere else.
The next day I received my tracking number.
Bottom line is this. You will make your order and they will want to talk to you and sell you more. So if you don't mind going through the hassle, then they are all good!"
"Store was kind an petient. After screwing up the first order (issues with my bank and the bank's cash limit for orders wups), I submitted the second order. no problems, rep was happy and calm. As before, tried to hype up the accessories which i turned down. After doing telemarketing myself, i understand the upsell. tough job.. I called back the next day to purchase a warranty plan. Purchased that, but called back because they quoted the wrong price ($149 for 3 year plan on $1k-$3k camera.. the guy tried to sell it for $199) so the dude offered me a five year plan for the same $199 price which i though was thoughful.. like promised, the new camera arrived with no problems on the exact day they said it would arrive. Camera works flawlessly. yay! Received the warranty no problemo. only now, as i decided to submit information for the warranty, i realize they had given me the under $1k warranty. will be making a call, will let you know how that goes.
01-05-2007 they had given me the right warranty at the wrong price. the company owes me 50 bucks. i told their hr about this, that their site since november and even now says the warranty is 150 intstead of 200. they said they'd email me information when they "check" to see if the price had changed. so far no email. and i'm screwed out of 50 bucks. SO, IMHO, the product is good, the customer services blows.. and MAKE SURE YOU ORDER ONLINE BECAUSE OVER THE PHONE, THEIR PRICE MIGHT BE JACKED.."
"Ordered Panasonic TH-50px600u.
Fast shipping, good customer support, no problem with order."
"Scum of the earth. I'll keep it short, they baited me in with low prices, forced me to buy high priced accessories. I refused and they told me it was out of stock and hung up on me. STAY AWAY, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!"
"First off let me start by saying I will never make another purchase form this retailer again. I decided to make a purchase here because the TV I ordered was a very good price. I placed my order on 11/21/2006. On 11/24 I called the store because I had seen no updates on the shipping of my TV. I was on hold for 25 minutes because there was only one person in the store who could confirm my order. After many attempts to reach him, many disconnects, and many minutes, I finally got him on the phone. He was polite, but immediately tried to start adding things to my order. When i stopped him in the middle of his sales pitch, he got aggravated and told me "I needed to listen to him". lol After finally managing to decline the 5 additional items he wanted to sell me, he advised me that my order would be shipped in 24 to 48 hours. Now mind you this was the third business day already from when I placed my order. It is now Tuesday, November 28th, and my order is not shipped. The shipping company stated they received the invoice today, but have not received the final confirmation to pick up my television. If and when I ever receive my TV I will update with final information.
As of today Nov 30th at 532pm EST, my tv has still not shipped. Last night ont he 29th I called to cancel my order. The sales person asked why and I told him. He told me he had no control over when the tv shipped and there was nothing he could do. He then advised me that my order had been cancelled and that I would receive a refund on my CC.
11/30 I called and spoke with Daniel who claims to be customer service manager. He advised me that my order had not been canceled but still could not explain why it hadn't shipped. I again said to cancel my order but he stated he could not until the end of the business day, but assurred me he would call back before they close. It is currently 530pm. I have contacted VISA to report the fraud."
"Well reading the reviews from others I thought I'd take the safer option of telephoning in my order. When I got through I asked if the TomTom 910 was in stock and got an INSTANT yes. So (suspicious at the speed of response) asked to order one. They put me through to billing who then bounced me back to their sales department. Sales person number two says "the systems down, call back in ten minutes" needless to say I WON'T be calling back... disgraceful... Spend your hard earned cash somewhere else. I hope you find this useful."
"VERY POOR on-line experience.
On November 07, I placed an order for a Toshiba 56HM66 Projection TV. The Butterfly WEB site indicated the item was in stock when the order was placed.
On November 09, Roy called to confirm the purchase and "pitch" all of the cables, extended warranty and cleaning kits that I did not need.
On November 20, I noticed that my VISA card had not been charged for the $1.500 purchase. I called Customer Service to find out that the TV was not in stock and was on back-oder. On November 21, Customer Service called back with a delivery date of either November 22 or November 25.
On November 26, the TV is still back-odered with no estimate of delivery time.
Be very cautious with this vendor especially on items that are not inventoried. I will never use them again."
"I ordered a Canon EOS 5D digital camera online. I later received a call from "Chris" who thanked me for my order and proceeded to "pitch" other accessories such as an extended warranty and a compact flash memory card. I bought a 5-yr warranty card. He quoted me a price on a 4Gb compact flash card and said it was 150X speed. I sounded like a good price so I bought that also.
When I received the shipment the Canon camera box clearly had been opened. There was glue residue from the missing seal still on the box. Upon opening it I could see that the camera had been removed from its bubble wrap bag and shoved back inside with the packing material. I also received a 4Gb 100X DigitalVisions memory card and not the 150X I was promised. No problem with the warranty card. I called Chris to explain this and he tried to convince me that none of the Canon camera boxes come sealed. He could not explain the glue residue. I called Canon USA after the call and they said all their new camera boxes are sealed. He could not explain why I got a 100X card either and transferred me to "David" in customer service. David told me that Chris did not know what he was talking about and that all Canon camera boxes are sealed. He could not explain how I got an opened box and asked me to return the camera and compact flash card. I also asked for Butterfly to pay for my shipping costs to send the shipment back. He agreed and told me to call him with the amount and he would credit my account.
I received the second shipment today. There is no seal on the camera box but this time I cannot detect any presence of glue residue or a seal that was removed. The camera was much better packed in its bubble wrap bag and appears to be brand new. The memory card they sent was the same one I sent back, 100X.
Since I purchased this on American Express I have turned the matter over to them.
I would never purchase anything from them or recommend them to anyone!"
