"I had been looking to buy a brand new LC-46D62U Sharp Aquos for the past three months and found Butterfly Photo had the best price. I was worried from reading all the negative reviews. But because their price was so good (over $200 cheaper than rest of the online retailers), I decided to pull the trigger. On Sunday, I called to order. The entire phone call took less than 5 minutes. The salesman mentioned extended warranty and 2-day shipping for extra cost. But I declined. He didn’t push me to buy anything I wasn’t interested in. On Monday afternoon, I received an e-mail telling me the package had been shipped + tracking number. I was nervous the whole time because of all the negative reviews I had read. On Wednesday, the TV arrived. The FedEx lady informed me there was a rip on the box. I was like…this is not good. But to my surprise, the TV was double boxed with huge bubble wraps between the boxes. Even the FedEx lady was impressed how the TV was packed. The inner box is perfect. And the TV is perfect. Thank you, ButterflyPhoto.com, for a perfect transaction. "Very pleased and highly recommend based on my experience. -Purchased a 46 inch LCD. Ordered online on Saturday and received the product the following Wednesday. No pressure to purchase accessories or warranty although after researching warranties I called back and did purchase a 5 year warranty. The price was very competitive. For purchasing a warranty they upgraded me from regular ground shipment to 2nd day Fedex air. I am very happy with the whole experience and will definitely put them on my list of companies I would recommend and purchase from again."
"This is my third time buying from Butterfly Photo. All three times I have had no problem. This last time was buying a Nikon D80 Body. I see a lot of people complaining about how you have to call them and they try to sell you stuff. Sure, all three times I have had that too, but as long as you show some patience and politely decline to the offers you are not interested in, everything flows smoothly.
So to summarize, if answering a few questions is too much for you before getting your item shipped, then I suggest to look for another store. Otherwise, I have been very satisfied all three times I have been purchased stuff from this store and reason for turning to them in the first place was because they had the best price around."
"Buyer Beware! Avoid Butterfly Photo at all cost. First off, I'm an easy guy to deal with. But don't jerk me around or lie. That I cannot deal with. I ordered a camera from Butterfly Photo on Monday and was told it was IN STOCK and should ship on Tuesday. Wednesday morning I got a phone call asking to verify the address. Oh, and I was at that time talked into buying an extra battery. I'm wondering now if THAT is why I was called to "verify" my street address. A slick way of adding more to the order. I was then told the camera would ship by the end of the day and I'd get an email of such. I'd have the camera by Friday. Neither happened. Called on Thursday morning and was told it should ship on Friday or Monday. Huh? Now I'm getting suspicious. I told the rep I made it clear I needed the camera by Friday, AND the item was ordered on MONDAY. She then said, "oh, I see here that it isn't in stock." Huh? I explained the history and she had no explanation. I told her this was totally unacceptable that I was told the camera was in stock and would ship to be delivered by Friday. Oh, they DID, though, charge my credit card for the full amount. But didn't know when it would be back in stock. Totally frustrated by now, I cancelled the order and went to H1Photo.com (now Thursday afternoon). Camera was in stock there and the sales rep said it should go out the same day. It did. Wow! Great service there! And I received a prompt email confirming this. Thursday evening I checked the tracking number and it is actually being delivered today! I'm in CT and H1Photo is in PA. So kudos to H1Photo.com for being courteous, honest and prompt. They provide what they advertise. Butterfly Photo does NOT! I will NEVER buy from Butterfly Photo again! Lesson learned!"
"I ordered a SONY SR7 DIGITAL CAMCORDER online from these guys as a Mother's Day gift for my wife due to their low price. I received the order confirmation almost immediately, but then the next day got a very generic e-mail saying that I would have to call them. I didn't call them but received their call. After I refused their their battery, he said it was back-ordered. I canceled it immediately.

" Delivery speed was fast. Order was accurate. I received a post-purchase phone call from their sales person trying to upsell a bunch of things, which is a minor annoyance. The real issue is if for any reason you have a post-sales question or problem. Butterfly Photo has the worst customer service of any online merchant I have ever used. My camera arrived with a defective battery. I tried to reach Butterfly Photo by telephone and email many, many times. No one responds to email. And telephone contact is impossible. I was put on hold six times, each time for more than 15 minutes before I had to hang up and go back to work. I have still not been able to talk to this company to resolve the problem. Neither the operator nor personnel in other departments (in desperation I tried those too) will do anything other than transfer you to music on hold. Everyone has a attitude of "it's not my problem" and could care less about giving any customer service. I wish I had researched Butterfly Photo on the web before ordering from them --- too late, I found when I Google "complaints" and "butterfly photo" the number of issues that turn up is simply awesome. My suggestion is simple: do not do business with this company.

" Being the paranoid fellow I am, and getting the runaround from other merchants when trying to purchase the latest and greatest Sony HandyCam, I decided to phone my order into Butterfly Photo. I told her I was tired of getting hassle, bait/switched, and all the other junk from other retailers.
Susan took my order, only told me about the upgrades that I specifically asked for more info on, and then shipped me my wonderful new camera. Placed the order on the 16th, rec'd on the 23rd (I paid $10 for the fast shipping, but a free option was available). Way to go!"
"They were pretty good. Took a couple of days to get the item shipped. They contacted me by E-Mail and said I needed to call them, never stated why. Due to the night shift I work, I could not make a call when they were open. Sent several E-Mails to support asking why I needed to call with no response.
After waiting a few days with no response (2-3 days) they E-Mailed me with a shipping tracking number, and the camera arrived shortly after in excellent condition. I love my new camera."
"I placed my order late Monday afternoon and received it on Wed. morning. When I called them I knew what camera body I wanted but needed help with accessories. They had the best price on the body, don't know how the price compares on the accessories but to be honest I cared more about receiving it quickly than saving $100. I got advice on lenses and other accessories, ordered a ton of stuff, dealt with a guy who seemed very helpful, had the camera bag thrown in and all in all have zero complaints. "

If you refuse to buy the accessories, they will tell you that the item you purchased is unavailable or delayed. This is the e-mail you will receive after your order. Next day Chris from customer support called me to sell extra-long batteries and told me that if I buy this additional accesory they can have my order shipped early (5 days later than my purchase day). Ordered a Camcorder to be used for my daughter's high school graduation with plenty of time to recieved it in advance. Paid for two day (express) shipping and told them of the importance and need to receive the camcorder in advance (both via phone and email). Promised overnight shipping after delays and a frustrated phone call. Graduation is tommorrow and still no camcorder and the worst thing is total non-responsiveness or customer service and care on their part.
