"Completed transaction, but would not purchase from again. The people were polite but as all brooklyn camera operators, they call you to "confirm" and sell you crap. I refused in a nice way for about 15 minutes. They guaruntee shipping within 48 hours but it took 7 days before they shipped. I called every day until they shipped it. They used a professional shipping company with online tracking. The TV appears to be new and works well so far. I will never order from a brooklyn, NY company again."
"Do not buy from these guys under any circumstances! They are extremely shady and untrustworthy. I bought a video camera from them and called to request expedited shipping. When I saw that my order came back with standard shipping I called again to see what the issue was. They said, that even though I had talked to a customer service rep, the fact that they had missed the shipping window was somehow my fault. At that point in time the service rep told me that they were running a special "deal" that day if I bought $75 worth of add-on equipment (battery, etc) to my camera they would include overnight shipping for free. When I got the bill, they had charged me $22 for full overnight shipping. When I sent an e-mail to ask about the issue I never got a response. When I called subsequently to talk to a service rep, the guy hung up on me!
Order from these guys at your risk - don't expect any customer support and be wary of any "special deals" they offer you on the phone."

That was my experience, but I must say I was holding my breath and being a nervous Nelly about the order after getting an email from customer service asking me to call them. I did and was asked for my 3-digit security code on the back of the charge card I used when I placed the on-line order. I was reluctant to do that, having heard horror stories about computer card fraud and related my concern to the representative I spoke with. Not to worry, the rep indicated he would revisit the order and get the number, which as it turned out got transposed somehow and that's why he was calling, because the credit card company would not process the order when he tried earlier to make the charge. Interestinly enough, I went to the website and saw that while the credit card number was no longer there, the 3-diget security card number was, along with my mailing address information. Anyway, I told the rep about the number still on the site and he said no problem he would get the information again. And he did and within a couple more hours I got another email from customer service message saying the order processed, giving an order number and gave me a fedex tracking number. And that helped me breath a whole lot better.
My, but Fedex is fast - shipped on the 29 and they attempted delivery on the 30th, but I missed them. So I stayed home today and got the delivery.
The camera was well packaged, with an invoice and all is well - everything works as it should and no surprises. And the price was competitive."
"I was concerned when reading some of the comments AFTER placing my order. A phone call arrived asking about accessories which I politely declined and a few days later the camera arrived via FedEx. The camera was defective and they gladly replaced it, again via FedEx a few days after they received my defective one. My only issue was that there was nothing to indicate you were on hold for the customer service line. I ended up getting there via the sales number. Again I was graciously transferred."
"Close call.. placed order, they claimed credit card security card failed, tried hard upsell, then delayed order w/o proper notification. Emailed support detailing their violation(s) of the Fair Trade Commission (there is a civil penalty up to 11,000)

"I ordered a Panasonic DMC-FZ30PP digital camera from Butterfly Photo on Sunday. I told the salesman (who was excellent- Steve at ext 204) my sob story. I had ordered the same camera from Wisetronics (AVOID!) 3 weeks ago in order to have it in time for an upcoming Caribbean cruise, and I had heard nothing from them, and when I called they said it was back ordered. Steve said he would make sure it was here by the time I left the following Friday. Well, Tuesday, the camera arrives, with everything else (filters, extra battery, case, more lenses). Unbelievable. They did a superb job and will get all my business from now on. Hey Butterfly, give Steve a raise!

I ordered a digital camera from Butterfly on 10/24/2005. The price of this camera from Butterfly was not the best. The reason I ordered from them, instead of others, because other websites did mention it was Jewish holiday and they will ship orders until 3 days later.
So I ordered from Butterfly, since they did not mention this kind of holiday delay on their web site. However, I received an email from Butterfly the same day I placed the order. The email said they will delay my order since it was their Jewish holiday. What gives. So I called them to cancel the order. The guy who received my call is Larry (ext249). He is kind of polite. When I said I want ed cancel the order, he seemed fine. He said it was cancelled and I will never see my credit card been charged. I believed him.
However, 20 days later, when I received my Credit card statement, I was astonished. Butterfly did charge my card.
I called Butterfly service right away. The guy who received my call, hang up my call immediately knowing I am disputing my credit card charge. He placed me in to a line, which I have to wait for half an hour to get to talk to someone else.
This new guy said they will refund the charge in 4 days. I told them if one week later, I still do not see the refund, I will notify my CC company. He said, "it is OK", then hang up. Please note, nobody said sorry about charging my CC.
Let's see what will happen a week later. I will update if I do not receive my refund.
Please do youself a favor to stay away from this store. It it not worth it."
"I purchased a Panasonic PV-GS250 from these guys and I'm extremely satisfied. Lowest price I've seen. I opted for the ground shipping but they send it through Fedex 2day Air (with the ground shipping price!). Excellent! I bought the Repairtech warranty from Larry. He gave me a discount. Again, it was the cheapest 4-year protection plan I've seen online and the protection plan comes from a reputable company (Repairtech Warranty). Larry was not rude or anything. He was really nice and patient. He offered me some accessories but I politely declined and that was it. No harrassment at all. I was hesistant at first because the video camera was a big investment for me but it all went well. I will buy from them again. Price and service are highly recommended. They're worth checking out! BUTTERFLY PHOTO REALLY FLIES HIGH ON MY LIST!"
"I ordered the Canon A520 Powershot with the companies "advanced kit". Delivery was quicker than I expected and everything I ordered was in the box. The only complaint I have is that the battery charger has a broken plastic cover over the batteries. I called during their posted business hours and the recording indicated that they were closed . . . not very comforting. Hopefully they will replace the broken part . . . but everything else came as expected."

"I only stumbled onto these horrible reviews after I ordered from Butterfly. If I had found them beforehand I would have gone somewhere else. But I guess I am one of the lucky ones because my order actually worked out great. I went with Butterfly because they were offering the PV-GS400 lower than most ($1,025). But I will confess I did buy a few extras from Tom after getting the standard issue email to call and "confirm my order", aka buy more stuff. He wasn't rude though, but he did work for the sale. I did want an extended warranty anyway for such a pricy camera, and he threw in some filters for a lower price then their website was advertising (probably does this with everyone but oh well) All in all I was very happy with the service, speed of delivery, and I couldn't be more pleased with the camcorder. Even though it worked out, I'd probably go somewhere else next time after reading some of the horror stories though. Don't want to tempt fate. "
