"BUYER BEWARE!! Butterfly Photo is one of those scam company from NY. I have made an order for a Samsung DLP TV on 1/6/06. Was hassled into buying there extended warranty and accessories. I refused. They said product is in stock. 3 days later they said the product was shipped and was to be delivered on 1/18/06. I called the shipping company and they haven't even shipped it yet. Call them back today and they said it is out of stock. Meanwhile they have already charged my credit card. Will report them to BBB. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!!!"
"Butterfly Photo does have a terrible returns policy and a very annoying "order confirmation" process. After you place an order they called my home and left a message insisting on a call back to confirm the order prior to shipment. During the confirmation process they just kept pushing camera bags and gadgets until you either hang up or give in...very pushy. But their 14 day, no exceptions return policy is the worst. You cannot return any item for any reason after 14 days is up. SO if you buy for a Christmas gift, like we did, DO NOT buy more than 1 week in advance since they won't take it back if the gift needs to be returned. "
"Ordered a Sony N1. It seemed not one person I spoke with could give me a straight answer. It's in stock, will ship tomorrow, then the next day,then the next day until finally...out of stock after all - "the manufacturer recalled all of our stock". So upon cancelling the order, i find that they've already charged my card so now i wait 2-3 weeks for a credit to hit. Thanks Butterfly!!"

"I placed an order for a camcorder online, with Fedex super saver shipping. Two days later I get a phone message and e-mail saying I must call "Victor". I replied by e-mail saying I had no interest in buying any accesories and that they should either ship the camera or cancel the order. I got no response except another mail two days later once again saying I must call "Victor". I sent a response telling them to cancel the order. Still no response and the order stills shows on their website one week later as "processing". I'm going to buy elsewhere and if they charge my card I'll dispute it.

"I called before I placed an online order since I needed an immediate back up camera for my dying D70 (dropped it). The sales dept assured me at 10AM in the morning that I would get the item the next day if I paid the whopping overnight shipping fee.
Now, 2 days later, they still have not shipped it out. After 30 minutes on hold I finally got someone on the phone who did not respond to my question of not shipping it. They simply stated that it will ship soon and disconnected. Absolutely infuriating.
To make it worse, they have not responded to cancellation requests so I can get it from another reseller in time.... Stuck between a rock and a hard place.
What really got my heart pumping was the AGGRESSIVE sales call I received after I placed the order: you get the standard email stating that you need to call immediately regarding your order and when you call they try and sell all kinds of cheap junk. They won't give up either until you finally instist that they need to process the order without junk.
Mind you, they get VERY annoyed if you do not buy crap camera bags and low quality batteries.
Anyways, a VERY VERY negative experience. I wish I had stuck with BuyDig, whom I purchsed from in the past and who do not pull this sh*t.
I really really hate Butterflyphoto.com with a vengeance. Horseflyphoto would be more prudent.

Had to file a claim with DISCOVER since they refused to acknowledge refund, respond to calls and emails. It's with the creditcard claims dept.....

"First, I got a very good price on a DLP TV from butterflyphoto and the TV arrived on time and in good shape. The shipping company used by butterfly photo (manna.com) was responsive too.
Be aware though, that you will have to call butterfly to confirm your order and they will try to sell you overpriced accessories. They will get VERY grouchy when you politely turn down those accessories. My phone call ended with the guy saying "You're gonna regret it!" and hanging up."
"Instead of placing an order online and waiting for the hard-sell call to come later, I decided to call them directly. I was calling to purchase a Toshiba 50" plasma, and had already looked up the prices for extended warranty plans available from other online sellers. When asked about whether or not I wanted their extended warranty, I said no, I was going to buy it elsewhere. He then asked if I would buy the extended warranty if he could match the price I already had, (or come close to it.) I agreed. The order was placed on a Monday, the unit was shipped within the next couple of days, and I received it on Friday.
I was certainly suspect prior to ordering. That's the primary reason I decided to call instead of ordering online. I was prepared to not order if I sensed anything amiss. In the end, I am happy with the purchase and pleasantly surprised at how smoothly the transaction occurred."
