"They had the best price on the internet for the Samsung 750 TV I wanted, but who are they? I researched and read some mixed reviews but decided to take a chance. As it turns out they are as professional as I could have hoped for. Yes, they did have me call back and tried to sell me additional services. Within a day I had an email to schedule shipment. 2 days later I received a phone call from the shipper asking if they could deliver the tv now (two days early). Heck yeah! They came, plugged the tv in to make sure it worked and left. Most impressed."

I order a new Canon 7D kit just before Christmas, but when camera arrived I discovered that it had been previously opened and used. The camera body, the lens, even the manuals were not in their original packaging and had been opened. The camera even had greasy fingerprints all over it! The only thing not opened in the box was the rechargeable battery.
Well uneasy paying almost $1900 for a used camera I called and email Butterfly. I was assured that they only sell new unopened merchandise. I asked for either a price break and extended warranty in lieu of a return. The service desk (Jason) offered a one year warrant or I could return the camera for an unopened one. I went with the extended warranty (it was actually funny they wanted to sell me a 3 year extended for $69.00) not wanted to go through the hassle of the return. Well that was Dec 30, 2009, and I'm still waiting for the extended warranty to arrive in the mail. Did I make a mistake placing an order with this place??? Perhaps I need to call again and just return the camera.

"On November 30th 2009 I ordered a new Nikkor 55-200mm zoom lens for my Nikon D3000. The lens arrived a week after I had ordered it but did not work. I called Nikon and they said the lens that Butterfly Photo sent me was defective. I returned the the lens the following day. After 2 weeks the replacement lens did not come. I called numerous times and was on hold a minimum of 20 minutes each time I called. Tired of waiting for the replacement lens I called and asked for a refund on my credit card. 3 weeks have past & I still have not gotten a refund on my credit card. I would not do business with this company again.
After writing this review I did get a phone call from the president of Butterfly Photo with an apology and he assured me that my credit card was credited on January 4th for the purchase. I think that was a nice gesture and shows to me that the company does care about customers who may have a problem."

"This is not a reputable company and I will never do business with them again. I only wish I had checked this web site before placing my order. After I placed the order I received a call from their customer service department and they tried to sell me additional material and insurance. At that point I should have cancelled the order. They sent a partial shipment and billed me for 19 dollars more than the invoice. The told me that the remainder of the shipment would be in a second delivery,I neve received the second delivery and the first delivery did not contain everything they said was in the box and there were brand changes in the material they sent. I have tried to contact their customer support but I can never get a live body. I truly belive that the positive reviews for this site are fakes"

Ok I needed this camera for Christmas so I was like what the heck its only 5 bucks more for expedited 3-5 day shipping. I paid for the camera and the extra for the 3-5 day shipping. Called to get the order confirmed so they can get it sent out. I was on hold for 45 minutes. Every 10 minutes someone would come on the phone and say "just another minute". This went on for about 45 minutes. First red flag.
When someone finally got on the phone he began the whole upsell. First he offered me a battery, told him no (makes up some bs about battery life only 1 hour, come on who the hell uses their camera for a whole straight hour at a time gimme a break). Then he offered another memory card, said no, JUST THE CAMERA (sorry man memory cards are a dime a dozen and I don't need to be upsold on an overpriced one when I can stroll down to the nearest fry's and get one for dirt). He then offered an extended warranty (what part of I JUST WANT THE CAMERA PERIOD, NOTHING ELSE does he not understand?)
Finally got my order confirmed, what an ordeal, my god. Then I get a shipping confirmation and it says "ground" shipping. Shipped the 14th, delivery set for the 22nd. I don't know about you guys buy thats cutting it SUPER close to Christmas. Why the hell did I pay for the expedited shipping (3-5 days) when all they're going to do was ship it ground?! I could've just gotten the regular shipping for free and it still would've been ground, can't get much slower than that right (or are they going to send it by pigeon?!)
These guys are absolute jokers. Upselling and trying to rob their customers. The whole $4.95 I spent extra on the shipping (and not getting it) doesn't irk me as much as the principle behind it. (This is after the salesperson promises me to expedite it free of charge for all my troubles of holding on the phone blah blah blah)
Do yourself a favor and pay a couple bucks more elsewhere. The hassle of dealing with these guys isn't worth the $5-$10 savings.
UPDATE: Idiots emailed me back saying that "ground" shipping is expedited.... So if someone didn't pay for expedited how the hell do they ship it?! Would they ship it on the back of a turtle?! My god I hope their business burns in hell.

"Purchased a Canon PowerShot SX20IS, fortunately using PayPal. Received an order confirmation and the money was taken from my account within minutes. Then no communication for a day, so I called and was told that my camera was being prepped for shipment and that the process took from 24 to 48 hours. I'd didn't like it much, but said okay. Next day, again no communication (and BTW their website tracking interface is coincidentally glitched), so since 48 hours had passed I called them again. I was again told that my camera was at the warehouse and that it was about to be shipped... Today has been nearly 72 hours, so again I called them - this time I was told that "the shipment of cameras that they expected hadn't arrived" - they told me "they'd received two instead of the twenty they'd expected." So, get this - they sold me a camera they did not have! An illegal practice. I told them to cancel the order and return my money immediately. They did cancel it and I got a cancellation email, but I was then informed that it took PayPal 2 to 3 days to process refunds. I was fairly sure that wasn't true so when I hung up with ButterFly (Outlook Aquisition Corp) I gave PayPal a call, and what do you know? They have no such policy. If Butterfly goes to the sale details page and clicks Refund - I receive the refund immediately. Butterfly has given me the runaround for several days, and they continue to do so. In my own best interests I have now filed a dispute through PayPal, and it will not go away until I have my money. I did just now call Butterfly Photo one more time to let them know what was happening, and no surprise - they hung up on me. Its their move. Conclusion: this is not a good company to do business with. BEWARE.

"Originally ordered a Canon Rebel T1i in October. I got the usual upsell phonecall and refused all the accessories. At this point I became a little leery and found the ratings on this site. I was somewhat reassured when I received the camera, however there was no warranty card included. In addition, the high ISO photos were incredibly noisy compared to straight from the camera jpegs on imaging resource. I thought it might be due to my inexperience, but was unable to adjust it to my liking. At this point I started to have the sneaking suspicion that the camera was a returned item. I called the company about this, and they offered to replace it with my choice of camera (it was past their 2 week exchange deadline, so brownie points for this). I decided to get the Nikon D5000 and received it yesterday. However, the box is banged up and the plastic bag containing the manuals has been opened. At least it contains the warranty card.. The camera seems to be new or at least initialized: when turning on it asks for language settings, etc. I called again about this, and they said if I wanted to keep it, they would give me an extended warranty. The camera has one hot pixel right in the middle of the frame that I can see when shooting indoors (others are also seen when I do exposures with the cap on), reading up on this, it seems to be 'normal'. No other problems that I can see. High ISO noise is all I could hope for. I think I will keep the camera, but my experience with this company is a mixed bag. They seem to be trying to please the customers, maybe to correct their previous poor ratings. However, it would be better to not have problems with the product in the first place: that would be the ideal experience. "
"I just purchased an expensive (for me) large screen HD television set from Butterfly Photo. Their price was considerably lower than most of the other internet vendors; because of the price and some of the less that favorable feedback that I had seen on the net I was somewhat worried about my purchase. I am very pleased to report that everything went VERY smoothly! A day after I placed the order on line I received the sales phone call to see if there was anything else that I needed :-) We agreed on a modest change and I was advised that my order would ship either that day or the next. After a slight delay (because of the Thanksgiving holiday) I received e-mail with the shipping tracking number. The package arrived on schedule and in perfect condition!
The new HD set is totally awesome!

"SATISFIED BUT BE AWARE OF CERTAIN FACTS:
I purchased the Sony SR11 camcorder from them and a day after placing the order I got a call from Steven Cl_______ a sales representative. He said he wanted to confirm the order but then sold me other accessories and a carrying bag/case as part of a package.
I had read the reviews for the site and knew that they would call and try to sell me additional stuff for the camcorder. I did end up buying from them (as part of a package at an additional cost) a bag for the camcorder, additional macro lens, uv filter lens, additional battery, additional battery charger, and lens cleaner. I paid more than $200 on top of my camcorder for the package. The next day delivery was
'FREE with my package.'
Though I am glad to have the extra battery and the macro lens, they DO NOT fit in the bag (with the camcorder) that he sold me. Also, the macro lens is NOT COMPATIBLE with the UV filter lens (images are blurry even with the clean lenses).
I ended up buying a bigger bag on my own because, again, the bag that he sold me for the camcorder ONLY fits the camcorder with the original slim battery (even the additional battery was too big for the bag that Steve sold me).
I have never used the uv filter lens, or the lens cleaning kit since then. The bag that Steve sold me is useless because it is way to small to hold anything additional. Steve did not bother to check if all the stuff that he sold me would fit in the bag that he sold me as a "Package."
The red flags went up when he kept insisting that I rate these guys as soon as my order was placed (instead of when I actually got the products). Also he kept insisting that I write "I would recommend this to family and friends" (sorry, but I cannot). I was hesitant and stayed polite throughout the entire ordeal because I realized that these guys now have my money. On the brighter side, it may not be the worst thing in the world to get some extras- I thought. I waited a few months to make sure the camcorder worked before writing my review.
So, to sum it up, I am SATISFIED by the PRODUCT from Sony. I am SATISFIED by the delivery time. I am UNSATISFIED by some of the extras I ended up paying for due to their incompatibility with each other (even though they were "part of the same package").
I was trying to save money online, but ended up spending the SAME (if not more) than I would have at a brick and mortar store with all the extras. Unfortunately I am NOT going to buy from Butterfly Photo again nor can I comfortably recommend ButterflyPhoto. I sincerely hope that they change their tactics and stop trying to sell their customers extras that do not go together.

"I placed an order for a benq projector. I received a call the next day to let me know this unit was discontinued. That was not news to me since I had placed an order the day before at another website and they told me the same thing. Michael Peters was very knowledgeable about projectors and actually suggested a better unit for me that was acutally $70 cheaper than the previous model I ordered.
I am very please with the process so far and am looking forward to receiving my projector.
they were not the cheapest price but I got a live human being who was knowledgeable about my product and was able to be suggestive. You get what you pay for.
