"I made a purchase of two Dakine brand purchases through Amazon.com. One from seller Ace Digital Photo and the other Buy.com. Both products were too small for my needs. I went to buy.com's and Amazon's websites and had difficulties with finding a way to request a return for the item purchased from the buy.com seller. I spent a while on buy.com's site trying to locate a phone number. When that failed, I put in a request to have someone call me. I did not receive a call. I searched online and found someone who had posted their phone number online because they too had difficulties. I found the number online, called, talked to some and was given a return merchandise authorization number. She said I would be sent two emails, one with the RMA and the other with the return shipping label. I never received the return shipping label. I went to the post office and shipped them back to the sellers. I paid for the label myself. Through complete fault of my own, I shipped the incorrect items to the sellers. On September 16th, I received a personalized, pleasant email from Ace Digital Photo informing me that I had returned the incorrect item. I responded that I had made a mistake and could they ship it back to me so I could correct the return. They kindly said yes. I immediately called and spoke to a customer representative at buy.com. I explained multiple times that I had mistakenly returned the incorrect item. He finally seemed to "understand" and said that the returns department would see the incorrect item and return it to me, per their returns policy. I told him I never received the return shipping label I was told I would receive and he said he would email it to me when we got off the phone. Peeved but sufficed, I took that to mean my order would be taken care of. This was September 16th. Yesterday, September 28th, I shipped the correct item back to buy.com via USPS. This morning, I checked my email to find an email from buy.com stating a return credit will be made to my bank account. "Reason for refund: Item out of stock." I call their 800 number. Ask to speak with a supervisor. I am asked why I need to speak to a supervisor. Explain my situation. Am transferred to another department. I ask to speak to a supervisor. Asked why. Explain my situation. Then am promptly told that their is not one available as they are taking other calls. I ask to have one contact me. The woman sends to returns. The man in that department seems to speak the clearest English of all three I've spoken with thus far. I tell him what has happened. He looks up my account. Basically says, "Yes, you have been issued a refund and you should receive it within 10 business days. So all is good." I ask, "Did you not understand what I just told you? You have the wrong item. Although it it my fault because I mistakenly sent you the wrong item, I called your company 13 days ago and he said returns would ship it back to me because that is their policy and now you have the correct item on the way." He says since the refund has been processed he cannot do anything about it. Well, I want the item that I mistakenly sent or $48 more deposited into my bank account. I asked to speak to a supervisor. He said there was not one there. I said he had to have a boss around somewhere or someone in charge. Then, guess what, in the middle me speaking, he transfers me to outside technical support, have nothing really to do with buy.com, and these people have no access to the extension codes and says I'll have to contact buy.com through the 800 number again.

I have paid to return this item twice. I would appreciate if they would pay for the return shipping (only once) since they told me on the 10th and the 16th that they would be emailing me a shipping label and never did. This is incredible. I realize I made a mistake by returning the wrong item. But this now appears to have turned into a form of theft. Yes, I've said it.

I'm sure buy.com will have something clever to respond to this. And much quicker than they can manage to find a supervisor, if one actually does exist. I'm out $9.50 in shipping and they are in possession of a $48 zebra Dakine Channel backpack that belongs to me. I highly doubt they will fix this one.

Update: Received a call at 1:55pm "out of the blue" from someone who seemed to be aware of what was going on. They actually want to get this taken care of. Makes me think they read this. hmmmm. They still won't send me my item back until they receive the item I received from them because they say processed the money on the 27th. It's the 29th at 2:15pm. No money in my bank account for a refund from them. Let's see if they follow through with calling me in 24-48 hours...

As of 10/6/10 in the AM, I have heard NOTHING back from Buy.com. Thank goodness the other company is extending the return dates because buy.com still has not sent my item back to me. And I hope their comment about issuing me a certificate is not for their store. I will not be shopping their again. Their customers obviously do not come first. If they did, they would take care of things when the customers took the time to call buy.com. Not the other way around. I didn't think my opinion could get lower. They have NOT followed through with their call and I am beyond fed up!

"Second time I have ordered from Buy.com. First order went well, no problems, fast shipping. This second order, my shipment is taking too long. I ordered two items on 18 September and I will not receive them till 28 September. What has happened to their shipping? One item is coming from another vendor and the other item from them. Still I would expect shipping time to be reasonable, since for one item I paid close to $7 shipping. Still waiting for my items to arrive. Frustrating!

Update: I received one of the two items on the 28th. Buy.com did give me a refund on the shipping for that item. It's the 1st of October and I still have not receive my second item.

"I find great deals on buy.com. I recently purchased McAfee Total Protection for 3 users and the price was only 14.79! Very good deal since McAfee wanted me to pay way more to renew just one PC. They ship quickly but it takes a while to get some things because they use First Class because the shipping is free. But it was fine with me. I have purchased from Buy many times and will do so again in the future."

"Bought and paid on Sept. 6. S On Sept 9 There's a UPS tracking number 1ZE822021201061151 that says "BILLING INFORMATION RECEIVED, 2010-09-09, 01:27:59". I contacted them by email on Sept 14 to ask where the item is. They reply that they are looking into it. I've since sent them two more emails and they haven't replied, meanwhile I really need this. Apparently they take your money but can't be bothered to let you know what's going on. BTW, FTC rules say that the company must notify you if a shipment is delayed, which they haven't done. This is why they have a 4.24 lifetime rating, and apparently management doesn't care if they improve. What a waste of time. "

"Placed and order on September 15th. Took them two days to process the order. Now it's Monday and finally got my first update via the tracking on USPS.

I am spoiled and not use to things taking this long. It was two days in their warehouse before they did anything. They took my money fast, but sure took their time to process this. I also picked up an order from bodybuilding.com. It was packed, sealed, shipped and tracked SAME DAY!

I received my order from bodybuilding.com in two days. I still have no clue where my XBOX 360 250GB HDD is.

That's another thing. The site also misguided me into thinking it was "new". They said 100% new, blah blah blah, but never said "This is a 3rd party hard drive, you can be banned for using these."

If I knew I had a chance of getting banned, I would of spent the $120 and bought the "official" one from Newegg.

Now the company doesn't reply to my e-mails. I wrote them asking "what if" and I did get a reply, but they said there's been no issues with these, 100 of people buy these, blah blah blah. I also got a program via the reply called "XPort 360" which is a mod program for the hard drive. This is a illegal program to mod your games, etc. This WILL get me banned.

I am not sure why they sent me this. It said the hard drive was 100% working. I read up on the program and it's used to format new 3rd party hard drives. If this is the case, I'm just going to try and attempt to return this.

I wish BUY.com and Amazon (what I used to pay with) would not allow these Chinese 3rd party hacked HDD to be sold. I do not want to risk anything, but for the price I was blinded and not really paying attention.

It's a risk. I'm not sure I want to take it.
