"I consider this company a "Best Practices" company. They have an excellent extended product line that offers excellent, affordable prices. Many companies could learn about customer service from CPAP.Com.
I wish I would have had a better understanding of the CPAP equipment processes when I took my sleep study. I got snuckered in by a DME who only had the bottom of the line products for which they charged top of the line prices. I wanted an auto machine, they said I didn't need it. I wanted heated tubing for my humidifier, they said I didn't need it.
My wife started researching CPAP products and quickly came across CPAP.Com. She turned in her rental machine and bought one of their PR System One Auto machines with a humidifier and heated tubing and bought me one just like it the very next day. Unfortunately, I didn't read the fine print at the DME and was unhappy to discover I signed a purchase agreement instead of a rental agreement. They billed the insurance company a total of $2,500 over ten months, of which the insurance company / my deductible / co-pay was a total of $800. This was for a brick of a machine.
The PR System One Auto with humidifier and heated hose was almost half of the price I eventually paid for the machine from the DME.
There is a huge difference between a profit driven DME who provides the most basic of equipment at exhorbitant prices and CPAP.Com who doesn't play their game. Every time I've called, every time I've tried a new mask and sent it back, every contact with CPAP.Com, their customer service reps were extraordinary in they are more concerned about taking care of you than lining their pockets. Don't get me wrong, they need to make a profit to stay in business; but, they have proven you don't have to fleece customers to attain that objective.
