Liers at Cabela's

"online Cabela's shows Tenpoint stealth nxt available 3/1/2018, called stores in my Wisconsin area, first store Prairie du chien, ask for help from someone in archery, after 5 minute store operator came on said no one was there yet, (9;30 am) took my question, name and number and would have some one call me back with answer, just wanted to know if they had the cross bow in stock yet so I didnt drive 100 miles for nothing, waited til 3:30 pm and called them back, repeated the same question, was put on hold again, and again no body from archery dept answered my call, I told the store operator I want to talk to some one from management, once again 7 minutes on hold, to have there operator come back on and said theres no body from management here to answer my call, (on a Monday!) what a bunch of bull ****! I asked if she was the only one working at that store and I will take my $1400 dollars some where else, so now I am calling green bay Cabela's, asked for a manager first thing, and got one this time, told her what a run around I got from the other store, she agreed that was bull, should never happen, I then asked her if they had the tenpoint stealth nxt in stock, (nope, don't have it) so she checked the Prairie du chien store, nope not there either, so I asked what about the catalog ? nope don't have it available yet, hmmmmm told here it show online at Cabela's 3/1/2018 tenpoint stealth nxt. so I guess its all bull **** to charge you then send your money to a account and draw interest on it fully knowing they don't have that cross bow for at least a month but tell you they do. never shop there again. !!!"

Big & Tall shorts no more!!!

"Cabela's has been my go to for big boy khaki hiker shorts for several decades. I recently went on their site only to discover they no longer make size 50 shorts! I guess I'm out of luck and they are out one long time customer.....very disappointed. "

It's a pretty good site

"I usually buy from my local shop in Missouri or I just buy from cheaper than dirt since the prices are sometimes cheaper. I'm not sure about all of the bad reviews, but I didn't have any problems like most of the reviews that I've seen. Before I buy something, I usually make sure it's in stock before I click the purchase button, but I didn't in this case. The package arrived a little earlier than I expected too. When I opened the box, all of the items I purchased were there. No complaints whatsoever. Will buy from Cabela's again. "

False Advertising/Bait and switch

"I honestly don't want to even give one star! I got the holiday flyer in the mail and found a sweet deal on a shotgun I wanted to get my son for Christmas. I even called ahead to make sure they had one in stock and was told they had 8 available. I drove 50 miles to the nearest store only to be told they were sold out. I was told by their manager that I could still order online and that it would be shipped to their store within 6 days. I went home and ordered the shotgun online and checked in week after week, after week. As Christmas was nearing I received an email saying my shotgun would be available at the store on January 19th. On January 17th I received another email stating the item was no longer available!!!! Are you kidding me Cabela's?!!!! "The worlds foremost outfitter" Hardly!! I will never step foot in your store or purchase ANYTHING from your shady operation ever again! As an avid outdoorsman I surround myself with avid outdoorsman and you can bet I will do everything in my power to make sure they do not buy anything either!!! Thank you so much for ruining my sons Christmas!"

False advertising scam

"Cabelas scamed me too. I ordered a ruger american rimfire from Cabela's Thanksgiving day sale. I ordered immediately after the sales price was available, but of course they were out of stock. The ad stated that backorders were accepted, so I figured that my order would be filled eventually. Not so! This week Cabelas cancelled my orderby without even sending me an email. When I called customer service, they told me that my order was cancelled because the rifle is out of stock. I told him (Brian) this was hard to believe because the rifle is a popular model. He then clarified that cabelas still stocks the rifle, but not at the sales price that I ordered it for. I told him that this was ridiculous because the ad said backorder were accepted. I told him that it was fraudulent advertising for cabelas to advertise a sale without any inventory to sell. The rep said that cabelas did sell a few rifles at the sales price. When I asked him how many, he said that only 200 rifles were sold at the 154.99 sales price. Are you kidding me? Only 200 rifles for a nationally advertised Christmas sale? Clearly this was fake advertising just used to drive traffic to their website to buy their other high priced products. The FTC should really look into this advertising scam. I never thought a company like cabelas would stoop to this level, but I was wrong. It is now time for cabelas to do the responsible thing at honor the thousands of backorders that they cancelled for this item. As for me, I will never shop at cabelas again."

False advertsising on stock

"Just found out first hand about something that is apparently pretty well known. Cabelas advertises sale prices online and then does not honor order that they accept for those items. In modern times, there is no excuse for taking orders on items that you should be logging well enough as to know if you have stock or not. The only reason to do so is because you are trying to bait and switch people.

When they decide not to honor the sell that they have already agreed to, they don't even bother to notify customers of a cancelled order. Very poor business practices all around.

WADERS RETURNED.

"I RECENTLY RETURNED A SET OF 2 YEAR OLD WADERS THE HAD A HOLE IN ONE LEG THAT I DID AND A SLOW LEAK IN THE OTHER LEG. I PURCHASED ANOTHER SET OF THEM FROM CABELAS WITH NO EXPECTATIONS FOR GUARANTEE BUT I DECIDED TO MAIL BACK WITH A LETTER OF EXPLAINING THE CONDITION AND SEE IF THERE WAS ANYTHING THEY COULD OR WOULD DO. WELL TO MY SURPRISE MY NEXT MONTHS CREDIT CARD STATEMENT HAD A FULL CREDIT FOR MY 2 YEAR OLD WADERS! WAY TO GO GUYS, NOW I KNOW WHY I SHOP WITH YOUR COMPANY AND HAVE BEEN FOR YEARS AND THIS JUST CONFIRMS WHAT I HAVE ALWAYS THOUGHT, YOU ARE A VERY GOOD COMPANY AND I RECOMMEND ALL FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO SHOP CABELAS, THANKS AGAIN.MICHAEL S. "I only wish I could give negative stars. I will never order from Cabela's again and feel their 'sale' was nothing more than a scam to get my personal information on their file so they can resell it.

Not even an apology for the inconvenience, just a 'notification' that the 'status' of my order was 'updated'. They must have learned customer service from the Pop Copy training video.

""Your order has been cancelled." Cabela's needs to update their online ordering system. They (as with many other websites) should connect the ordering to the stock on hand and not allow sales they cannot fulfill. Bad customer service. I won't be looking to them first for any future purchases."

MY ORDER CANCELLED WITHOUT NOTIFICATION OR A REASON! OOPS THEY DID IT AGAIN!

"Early yesterday morning I ordered a men's CAMO shirt. I received confirmation and an order #. This evening I checked on order status only to find out order was cancelled. No reason given,nor was i phoned or emailed about the cancelation. These people are not on the ball! They wasted no time charging my credit card.
Dec 6th I ordered same shirt in a different size. Order was confirmed. Item was in stock. I checkedf status of
new order Dec 9th and found out that this new ordered was cancelled because of inventory deficiency??
Learned my lesson , will not ever buy from Cabela's again!

NOPE

"I made and order on the Cabela’s Canadian website the same day I made and order on wish.com (where the stuff is coming from China) and received my order from wish and still no Cabela’s order. I also ordered a sweater and a blanket, the blanket said on back order, whatever no rush it wasn’t a Christmas gift as the sweater was. A week passed by and I received no email stating it was processed so I called and was told the sweater was also on back order.(was not stated when I purchased ) so there goes that Christmas gift. Never ever will I order of this site again. "
