"Online Shopper's Nightmare!
DO NOT RISK YOUR MONEY WITH THIS FRAUDULENT, DISHONEST, UNETHICAL ETAILER. UNTRUSTWORTHY!

1/6/2005 – I submit an online order for a 64mb GEforce card WITH TV-OUT via a click-through link on Pricewatch. I purchase card on their website and authorize a $34.77 charge on my credit card. I immediately receive a confirmation showing that $34.89 has been charged to my card. No, big deal, what is 12 cents?? Well to begin with it was UNAUTHORIZED and thus by legal definition CREDIT CARD FRAUD. Whether by 1 cent or by 1 million bucks I did not authorize that money to be charged to my card. It also turned out to by a symptom of a slightly more harmful practice of ripping off the consumer that I experienced at CMI Computer

1/17/2005 – S L O W shipping! 11 days later I finally receive the card, and Now here comes the real kicker. I open up the package and before my eyes is a 64mb card with ONLY VGA!! That’s right no TV-OUT. For most people this type of purposeful fraud is something that one easily gets away with but I really needed that TV-out to interface my computer with my TV so I wouldn’t let it slide. I Finally get around to getting an RMA # (they generally require that you fax it but I don’t have a fax) and I mail it back AT MY OWN EXPENSE.

It should be noted that the rep with whom I corresponded is very courteous and prompt, no qualms about that.

2/16/2005 – Card is received at CMI and I am told that (not only was the return shipping on me) but that also I will be charged a 15% restocking fee for the unused card!! That puts me at a loss of 8 dollars because of CMI’s incompetence or, more likely, fraudulent business practices. Helllooooooooooo why should Io have to pay because you sent me the wrong card people!?!!?!?

Rep pointed out to me that they received the item late and were thus doing me a favour by refunding some of my money. Granted, I did take a week to mail back the RMA Maybe it wouldn’t have been late had they gotten it to me less than 10 days after I ordered it, or accepted RMAs via the Net.

FRAUD FRAUD FRAUD. Not an innocent mistake or they would have covered for the mishap. They intentionally sent me the wrong product hoping that I would not call them on it. Very dishonest, unethical way of running a business. The take home message is this—This company purposefully misadvertised a product and refused to take responsibility when I called them on it. BUYER BEWARE. You CAN NOT AND SHOULD NOT take this kind of a risk when buying on the internet. Deal with decent companies like Newegg and CnetPC that will send you products as advertised and cover for their mistakes when they make them. IF you value your time or money do not risk it at Cablemart, there is no guarantee you will get what you think you are getting! Stay AWAY. Stay waaaaaaaaaaaaay Away. buying form them is a risk as they have proven to be unethical and fraudulent but over such small amount that noone has really stepped up to the plate and stopped them.

"I sent an email to cmicomputer about my order not arriving. Lisa sent me a reply to my email and stated that the credit card number was incorrect. She stated that she sent me an email stating this, but I didn't recieve it. When I called her to work this out, she was very rude and kept asking me if I wanted to cancel my order. I was very curtous, but she was not. I gave her her required info anyway and she said she placed an order. I send an email complaining, so she canceled my order. What is up with that. I guess a mom and pop shop?"

"I ordered a product on the 8th of February and on the 15th I wanted to know what the delay was. I got one mean bothered woman who not only told me that my line of questions bothered her, But said in a very nasty way that If I didnt like there methods of operation I can basically kiss her $##. " I ordered an atx Mid Case, Top Carrying Handle, Silver and Blue Color Electro Plating. A week later I Get an e-mail from Lisa saying they are out of stock.
Ok so they give me a choice between two SUCK towers but with a 500 watt atx power supply. Finally when I received it, I pick it up and it was awfully light. There is no power supply. There are other great deals out there. These people aren’t worth it.

"I bought a tv tuner card from this company (dec 28, 2004). It arrived in a DVD-burner box. The card and parts were in open plastic bags. The application software didn't work. I emailed Lisa, no reply. I called them up, no answer. I emailed tech support, Bill said he will send a copy of the older version. I haven't received the disk yet (Jan 23, 2005). My next step is to report this company to the Better Business Bureau if I don't get the disk in 3 days or if the disk doesn't work. "

"I ordered a case from them and when I opened the box the front panel of the case was cracked in half and in horrible condition. I emailed Cablemart and tried calling them many times only to get an answering machine every time. When I was finally talked to someone inorder to find out what to do, they said they would call me back the same day, yet never did. Neither my email nor phone calls were returned. Eventually I got a hold of someone and everything was taken care of after several days. They are very diffucult to get a hold of if something goes wrong with your order. I eventually after several days recieved a new case after UPS picked up the old one. However, the new case has some scratches on the front panel and isnt the quality that I expected. Also the power supply has no off switch and doesnt screw into the case tightly. Its too much trouble to try and get it exchanged. They have horrible quality products and service. I should have read previous review horror stories before making a purchase from Cablemart. I would strongly discourage anyone from doing business with this company, no matter how good the deal is. "
