They then send me an email asking me to call them to "confirm" the order and make numerous attempts to upsell me on batteries and memory cards at non-competitive prices. After refusing, I am told the next day the order is on "backorder". I called 1 week ago and was told it should be available in 2-3 weeks. I called 12-05 and they said the order had been cancelled. I received an email three days later saying:

I thought that was odd, but I called. After NUMEROUS attempt st getting through without success I finally reached a person who was VERY rude and terse. Then I was forwarded to a recorded message.

I did some research and it quickly became obvious this place is a scam. I had to cancel the credit card.

"I ordered this camera on 11-13-07 and was promised 3-5 delivery in time for Thanksgiving. It did not arrive, but when I tried to cancel, they said it had shipped. I then received an email stating it was on backorder. Trying to cancel the order was a nightmare for. Will NEVER do business with this company again. "

"Me too! Was told item was in stock, but after refusing to buy warrantees, batteries, and $100 UV filters I received an email 2 days later telling me item is backordered. This is the second time this has happened with on-line camera stores this week. Must be the way these guys do business. I'm pretty sure that the camera would have been in stock if I'd bought a lithium battery and a 3-year warrantee!"

"Store is a complete fraud. They were listed as the lowest price on a Garmin Nuvi 200 GPS. I found the store with a price search engine, had 5 star rating but no way to check rating. (must have just been printed into logo) After order is sent, get email 2 days later to call them. The line is busy all day. The next day they tell me the GPS only has 20 min battery, need to oder another battery with it. I of course know, these come with 5 hr batteries period. I say just cancel my order, they do. I contacted my credit card company to make sure I didn't get charged."

"I placed an order on 11/20/07 for a Garmin GPS with this company and received an order confirmation. I tried calling Camera Addict on 11/23 and selected their extension of 291 like my e-mail requested and got their voice-mail. I left a message with a phone# to call me at and didn't hear from them for the next 2 days. I called again on the 26th and got voice-mail again. Tried again and again and left another voice mail. Tried another route and asked the operator to speak with a human. He transferred me to the damn voice-mail again. I called again on the 27th and waited for the operator again and he said he would transfer me to someone else. Got the damn voice-mail again. Next time I called the operator picked up and immediately transferred to the voice-mail without even saying hello. Finally spoke to Spencer at ext 291 and he said to call my credit card company and add my ship-to address to it. DONE..........called back later on the 28th to verify order, Jonathan??? tells me item is not in stock. Nothing will ship. I mentioned that Spencer told me it would. Jonathan says "Not in stock, won't ship". I say " cancel my order" Jonathan says"OK". Case closed. This company is a big scam. Nothing in stock, nothing to ship. Price for the GPS when I ordered it $551.00. price today $621.00. If it sounds too good to be true, IT IS"

"Ordered Panasonic DMC-FZ18 as it was listed In-stock. Paid $34 for overnight shipping. Credit department called me back because billing address and not shipping address was not listed on card. Had to have my bank add the shipping address to my account then conference call with them so they could verify.

After that was told order would ship same day. That night, had not received order confirmation so called back next day. They said order did ship but it takes a while for confirmation email. Nothing yet by the next night, so called back the next morning. That person guaranteed that I would have a ship confirmation and tracking number within two hours. After two hours, I called back again, and was then told that the camera had always been on back order. Cancelled the order.

They used high pressure tactics to up-sell additional batteries, saying the one included only lasts 20 minutes. Customer service reps will yell and filibuster so you can get a word in edgewise.

"SCAM ARTISTS! I found a Canon Powershot S5-IS on the Camera Addict website for $281, so I placed the order. I received and email from the concerning my order on Nov. 20, 2007 requesting that I contact them for 'verification', so I called them on Nov. 25, 2007. The guy who answered told my my order had been 'processed', then I receieve another email telling me that the camera I ordered was on 'backorder'. I called them this morning and the guy who answered was very rude and condescending. He told me that the 'U.S. version was available for $359'. WHAT???????????? The website doesn't say ANYTHING about U.S. versus non-U.S. versions that sell for different prices. I cancelled my order and will never shop with them again. Buyer BEWARE!"

"No where on their website does it state these are grey market Japanese models. When contacted, they expained that these are Japanese models, if you want US it would cost more. Nice bait and switch routine.

"I was very skeptical about them, usually there's a catch with such low prices. So I wasn't surprised when I was contacted to verify my order. I almost just cancelled the order then and there because I didn't want to deal with a whole runaround from them. Trust me I learned my lesson last time I tried to order from a different internet vendor. But I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and called them back.

Of course I got an upsell and of course I didn't want anything else. But the surprise part, they still shipped my order for the same price on their website. Honestly I wasn't expecting that but hey, I couldn't be happier.

I bought a "high end" model so it wasn't like I was saving a few pennies, try a few hundred dollars! In the future I'd use them again because while the "verification" process is really unnecessary, at the end of the day they ship your order and you can save a nice sum of money."

"I purchased two lenses through their website.. they sent me an e-mail asking me to call them to "confirm" my order, so I did call them and confirm it. While on the phone with them they used HIGH pressure sales tactics to pressure me into buying some addt'l items for the 2 lenses, i repeatedly told him No, that I didn't want or need the addt'l items, he would not let my order go through, he would not let me off the phone, he put my order on hold, I called back the next day and asked them to take my order off of hold, but i still DID NOT want the $300 filters for my lenses, he still would NOT let me say no.. He would not let me off the phone, he said that If I purchased them and didn't like them then I could send them back for a full return.. he did not say that there would be a restocking fee. I did not have time to deal with it at the time and I needed my lenses so I agreed to let them send them to me and i'd take a look at them. When I got the filters I decided that I didn't want or need them. When I called the company I was told that I was mistaken, the filters could not be returned, that, in fact, I'd have to return the FULL order and then there would be a restocking fee for the full order, so by the time that I pay that AND the S&H that I'd already paid the same amount for the filters, so why bother.

I was also put on hold Numerous times and then hung up on. I told them that they were not only scamming me, but everyone, he said that I was the one that fell for it.

I told him that I would spend everyday of my life until the day I die, making sure that other people don't get scammed, He actually told me that he hoped that it was "tomorrow" because they did nothing wrong. "

"I ordered an Infocus IN72 for a fantastic price of $612.99 all in. I received an email that I needed to call to confirm my order. When I called, I was pushed a warranty and asked how many lamp bulbs I wanted to purchase. After I said "just the projector", I was told that this was a wholesale version that didn't come with a lamp bulb so I would have to buy at least one to use the projector, and would take the price to $799. Yeah, right. After I told him to cancel the order, the rep puts me on hold then comes back to haggle. He kept getting lower and lower and finally arrives to his floor of $625. I was firm on the $612.99 quoted on the site and after several times repeating "So you don't want it for $625?", he finally cancelled the order. What a joke these clowns are."

"This is a horrible place to do business with. Bait and switch! They offer low prices on grey market lenses and then offer a very expensive warranty. They also package items as a "kit" when you actualy bought individual line items. They "packaged" a set of filters with a lens I bought from them. It was explained as individual items not as a kit. When I called for an RMA number the offerred this and that and refused to take the filters back. the sales person was rude and treated me like and idiot! Then the manager tried to do the samde thing. In the end they gave me a 7 year warranty instead of refunding mhy filters. The filters are cheap glass with a tripple coating.
You go on their website and you can not find kit's that include a lens, filters and an extended warranty. They are all individual items! I will never do business with them again. You are better off spending the extra money with B&H. You will get quality products and top notch customer service without bait and switch tactics."
