"I ordered the camera online. 24hrs later I got an email request to phone the 1-800 number in order to "verify" the order. The conversation had little to do with verification. The sales person had no phone manners and informed me that the camera(Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX35S) comes WITHOUT a battery and I need to buy one from them for $89. When I told him that this is impossible and I know for a fact that the camera comes WITH a battery, he persisted and told me that this is a new model that comes WITHOUT a battery pack! I said I couldn't believe a camera is sold without a battery(no mention on the website, either) and besides that battery goes for $45-$60 on Amazon. He said he'd help me out by giving it to me for $69. I refused. Then he asked if I want to cancel my order. I did! Then I phoned again to see if they do this trick every time and was told they don't have the camera in stock! Earlier, I was considering Broadway Photo. After my ordeal with Camera Addict, I phoned them, too. Again, bad phone manners. Not in stock. Both websites state the item as "In stock"! Initially, I decided to order from Camera Addict after finding they have the lowest price on EveryPrice.com. Both CameraAddict.com("Featured Seller") and BroadwayPhoto.com("Trusted Seller") have a 5 star rating. I just took a second look at the reviews the ratings are based on. Many sound similar and all are common first names. Please note: Camera Addict is at 325 E. 89th Street, Brooklyn, N.Y. 11236. Broadway Photo: 337 East 89th street, Brooklyn, NY 11236. While I already got a confirmation my order has been cancelled, I'm very nervous about the fact that now a bunch of scam artists in a boiler room in Brooklyn have my credit card number!
I'll order from Amazon.

"First off, I bought this camera for the company I work for. They gave me a maximum spending rate of $1000 to work with, so I thought I would try to get a decent camera, with some some extra lenses on the side.
The camera I was vying for, was a Nikon D40X, the site said it was $392.00 for a "kit", w/ a Nikon 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED II AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor Lens. I thought this to be a great price, so I went to order the kit and would later get more accessories for the camera.
After sending through my order, I got an email for the "conformation" and immediately gave them a call. The number they gave me was 1-***-***-**** Extension 239 and I talked to a young man named Kevin. Right off the bat, the kid was pushy and I could even hear yelling in the background from his co-workers to potential customers, or soon to be ex-customers.
Immediately he tried to sell me extra batteries, memory cards, UV filters and extra lenses.
I was truly interested and said yes to all of them, including overnight delivery, at which point my mega bargain of $392.00 sky rocketed to $1349.98, I very politely said no thank you and I would like to trim off some things. He hung up without a word.
I immediately called him back since I saved his extension and after much fighting and harsh words, he said he would ship me the "Japanese version" of the camera, or the English version for $250 more. At which I replied, "I speak English, Spanish, Russian and Japanese, thats just fine."
When I finally received my camera, the overnight shipping of $36.00, was $79.99 and my camera was in English. I don't think they even sell Japanese versions, they just use it as an excuse to try to upsell if you don't take any of the overpriced accessories.
I filed a grievance with the BBB and NY County General, anyone who has been ripped off by them, or just has a complaint, should do the same!
The camera was perfect though.

"Their low prices are too good to be true. I placed an order for a Panasonic FZ-50. When I received my "verification call" I was told that the camera only came with a one-time-use battery and hounded to buy a battery at a price higher than direct from Panasonic. What?!? How could they even obtain a proprietary one-time-use battery that's unique to the camera. Upon hearing this flat out lie I immediately requested that my order be canceled. The sales person said "okay" and I immediately heard a click.

Save yourself some grief and avoid CameraAddict.com. Their profit seems to come from those poor suckers who don't know any better.

"After reading all of the negative reviews, I have to conclude that I am either very lucky or that dissatisfied customers are more likely to write reviews..
I have purchased camera lenses from Camera Addict three times in the last year, and have never had a problem. You do have to call and confirm your order and they do try to sell you additional accessories, but the customer service reps have always politely accepted my refusal of same. They do sell gray market lenses, but I have no problem with that. I take good care of my equipment and I'm happy to have the opportunity to buy these pricey items at considerable savings.

"BUYER BEWARE! I wish I had read the reviews before I tried to purchase from these people. They are real "bait and switch" experts. The camera I wanted was listed as "in stock" and for a good price, so I ordered it. Of course, I immediately got the email saying that I needed to call for "verification purposes". I did and they immediately began trying to get me to buy things I didn't need or want. When I refused everything, the guy said "Beautiful" and that my camera would be shipped out the next day. That evening I got an email saying that it was "out of stock". This company and others like it should be put out of business. They are dishonest and have no interest in selling good merchandise for a reasonable profit. They are scam artists and nothing more."

"Placed my order for the Canon HG 10 camcorder Thursday. Friday, received an email that I need to confirm my purchase. Called Friday, but nobody in the office. Called Monday and was an hold for 25 minutes. The clerk asked me if I have any question and I asked if it's new and what is my total. My total was $494. Than he sad, you know this model is not going to work in US. The US model is $699, but I can give you 20$ discount. I was really shocked and surprised and just canceled the order. The clerk was really happy to cancel the order. His number is 1-***-***-**** Extension 245.
Thanks.
P.S. After reading all the reviews I'm so happy that I canceled my order. I don't understand how that kind of companies can work in this country and where are all the agencies that should fight with that people.
Don't trust EveryPrice.com. They cover all the fraud companies.

"First of I would like to say do not call this people in an attempt to talk to a supervisor. Because when I called the service department regarding a package that contained 3 day delivery, white glove service, 1 year warranty, yada yada yada…I was lucky enough to speak to the CEO of Camera Addicts. His name was Brian and when I asked to speak to his supervisor, he said he was it…he had no supervisor and answered to no one. The top of the line! The buck stopped with him! It is nice to see CEO answering service calls in today’s business world…considering that never happens.

I called to complain about the LACK of 3-day delivery they had given me, and I foolishly accepted. CEO Brian offered to upgrade my 6 ft HDMI cable (which I bought for $7 on-line) to a 12 ft HDMI cable, which costs them $5.95, and I can only guess they sell $85.95 with white glove service and a one year extended warranty. That makes up for the 3-day delivery promise! Then he offered me an upgrade of my 1-year warranty, to a 3-year warranty. Does anyone in America still think these warranties mean anything??? I said, “I don’t need that.” Then I was offered 50% off the white glove service I did not have a complaint about (retail value $45.95, according to the CEO). This whole time I kept saying the same things to Brian, “What is the name of your supervisor?” “I would like to speak to your supervisor.” I must have said each line, no joke twenty-five times in our five-minute conversation. When I told him I had not accepted delivery yet, he tried to threaten me with a $600 charge for not accepting delivery of the equipment. I turned it around and said “Great! $300 each way! Now we are getting somewhere! That is the amount I want you to credit me, $300.” Therefore, chances are they will add that tidbit of “things not to say to a customer” in their next scammer-training day. Finally, he offered me $100 and said it was free white glove service. I knew that the upgrade from 7-day delivery to 3-day delivery was $100. Reluctantly I accepted to end the conversation and let the CEO go back to running his LLC.

I admit they swindled me. However, if you get anything from this, I hope it is use a more reputable dealer when buying electronics. Better service. Better prices. They won’t sell you thing that are IN the box! This group of swindlers and scam artist will try and up-sell you the bubble wrap that comes in the box if they knew you would buy it. Do not believe anything they say from their fast talking mouths or you will get an upgrade of “especially thick brown paper wrapping” to ship your product and they will throw in for free the name of the product painted into the side.

"This is a slim-ball outfit. There low prices are a scam. Either the camera is grey market or they are 'out of stock' - unless you purchase the item with one of their "kits" which is overpriced junk."

"I ordered a "Sony VAIO VGN-TZ150N/B, 11.1-Inch Notebook Laptop Computer" for one of their FRAUD website at :

http://www.cameraaddict.com/viewproduct.aspx?id=3623018#ra

Listed price for $1480.00 and they send me an confirmation through my e-mail.

I also noticed that they do have another FRAUD fishing website at:

http://www.prestigecamera.com/ViewProduct.aspx?ID=3655291&l=MSN

This websit listed the same item for $1488.00 Both website phone # are different, but both addresses are in same street and next door to each other. Be aware that they have many other websites as well besides these two website listed above.

However, one of the middel east salesman called me and asked me if I wanted the extanded warranty. He stated that the model which I ordered was not a U.S. model and no warranty whatsoever. He was trying to sell me the warranty plan for $179.00 I replied "No Thanks". Then he asked me if I wanted to purchase an additional 1GB of memory for $110.00 and I replied "No Thank you". Then he asked me if I wanted to purchase a carrying case for $79.00 and I replied "NO". Immediatelly, he said to me that the Microsoft Vista O/S which came with the notebook was in Chinese characters and I said to him that I have my own English O/S myself, so there will be no problem. After these, he said to me that he will cancel my order if they don't have this model in stock. I had sensed that they are not a legit company, so I called and cancelled my order because I believed that they will never ship the item to me anyways.

I believed this company is a big SCAM. BE CAREFULLY WITH YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION WHICH HAD BEEN GIVEN TO THEM. YOU WILL NEVER KNOW WHAT WILL HAPPEND. They have no intention to sell stuffs over the internet. They sales plan is to advertise items below market price and try to take everyone's credit card information ONLY. BE CAREFULLY !!

"I like to get a list of their corporate officers and see how many have done time for fraud. My husband ordered from cameraaddict.com without consulting resellerratings. He got the "call us before we can process your order" email. The guy tried to pad the order with overpriced crap. He then said, BTW, it's in Japanese. If you want it in English, it's $250 more (more than most reputable stores' price). My husband cancelled the order. If the charges aren't credited within two weeks, we will file a complaint with the NY AG's office."

"Fraud,Fraud,Fraud...I purchased a Samsung LCD HDTV. After the purchase I received the standard email requesting I call to confirm order. The scammer on the other end tried to sell me a warranty and the recommended accessories. When I refused he told me I had to buy a $300 pedestal stand to hold up the TV. He went on to explain the gray market and an imported TV does not come with the pedestal. This guy had an answer for everything. In the end you do not save any money with these guys."

"Misleading and potentially fraudulent store. They were forcing me to upgrade with overpriced add-on in order to get a camera in English. They waited until the 2nd phone call and until January 31st to tell me I had to pay $200 more to get the camera in English. Horrible experience!!!!!"
