customer service doesn't reply

"I used to only use Cardpool for discounted gift cards because of their 1 year guarantee. However, since September 2020 they have now gotten rid of that and only offer 60 days. So the first time I ever had a problem with them was recently when I made an order and received a zero balance gift card. I read their guarantee and found that the email written within it does not exist so my email could not be delivered. I then googled their customer service phone number and called it only to find that the number is not in service. The only email I found that is real is ****@****, however no one has replied to me in 4 days. Don't waste your money on here, there is a better alternative! I have recently started using the Honey extension and you can purchase a discounted gift card in exactly your amount due with one click! Much easier and you never get a zero balance gift card!"

A fraud company, very bad service, very poor management

"I purchased a Coach e-Gift card ($250) on 12/31/2019, my family member and I didn't use it. But when we tried to use it in the Sep of this year, the balance is $0. They could have sold it to another person again. Also the ex-owner could have used it, which will be the card management problem. I spent 1 month on communicating Cardpool for refund. But their response is slow and very rude, they refuse to refund. They don't follow 1 year money back guarantee policy. They always say it is my problem: I sold it, my family member used it, or my email/phone/computer got hack. They never say it could be Cardpool's problem. They didn't manage the card well. If they didn't sell it to another person, it must be ex-owner problem. Don't trust Cardpool, very bad service. They never tried to help customer to resolve the problem. They don't take any responsibility. 1-year money-back-guarantee policy is a fraud."

Scam!!!!! Thieves!!!!

"Cardpool “bought” my gift card ONE month ago and the funds are no longer on the gift card. I was supposed to get an amazon gift card via email within 24 hours it has now been ONE MONTH and nothing. I have emailed several times and they keep saying they’d look into it now they won’t even respond to me!!!

This company should be shut down

"I bought a card for Michaels and when I received it the back code was already scratched. This was a red flag but I tried the card, when I tried to use it there was zero balance. I emailed Cardpool and they asked me to send back the card which I did (why do they want a zero balance card back) and now because the back was scratched off or it wasn't in original condition (whatever that suppose to mean) they won't refund. This looks to be a total scam from all the reviews on this site (I should have check here first) and I fell for it. Hopefully this will help someone else from getting scammed. Don't use their services. Now I have the headache of calling my bank and trying to get my money back.

Update on the bank. They said they will dispute it, but seem like they couldn't do anything for me. I have to wait 45 days to see what will happen. I used Bank of America card. I wonder if any other banks offer better service when it comes to these types of scam purchases.

Not trustworthy, poor communication and customer service

"Over 3 months after I listed several gift cards, still waiting for them to return one card that they claim was invalid or had no value (which is not true), and they cancelled what they owed me for the "good" cards. Canned responses from customer service as well as replies that made no sense in terms of what I was waiting for. At one point, they claimed that the card had been returned to me as of a date that was over 4 weeks in the past, claiming that it was taking 4-6 weeks for returned cards to be received. Well past the 6 week mark now and still no card. While I had very good experiences with other gift card buying services, this one was beyond disappointing. I will not ever do business with them again and would discourage others from doing so."

"I order 3 electronic gift cards late Thursday night. Didn't receive on Friday but would give them the "One-business day" to ship/email the cards. Nothing on Monday and no reply to email. Nothing Tuesday. Although they replied they had to verify the cards and they were set to go out later that day. Two days later and nothing still. Missed the sale I was going to use the cards on and have to dispute charges on CC now.

Update: - Been ordering from them again(Feb 2020) and delivery has been much better over the last 2 years. It isn't always immediate but within an hour at most I would say for online delivery of orders. Would buy from them again for the time being.

After "selling" my $100.00 gift card for Bath and Body Works to Cardpool, I never received any type of compensation that i should have gotten in exchange for the gift card. After over a months and a few enquiries I got an email stating that there had been a problem and they were cancelling the transaction. (I had another card that I had used at the store and had no problem with at all. They threw that one away for me.) Unfortunately, I had thrown this card out thinking that it was "spent". Well, now I am out the gift card and compensation promised by Cardpool. Would never want this to happen to anyone else, Terrible experience!

Fraudulent Company - DO NOT USE!

"I should of done more research on this company before sending my cards to them. Adding my experience to what seems like 1,000's of complaints in hopes that is saves someone else from the headache of dealing with these people. 

I sent $75 worth of gift cards to CardPool on 12/6. I filled out the form on the website & I received an email stating: "Thanks for using Cardpool! You earned $52.47 on your unwanted gift cards....To complete the process, please mail your gift cards to..."

To me, this statement means they were accepted, no where in the email does it say they need to be verified (again) after they are received. I mailed the cards on 12/7.

12/12 I get an email from CardPool saying they cannot verify the funds & they were mailing the cards back on Monday 12/16. I quickly emailed them back to ask if they called or emailed the company (the way its says too do on the back of the cards to verify funds.) CardPool did not respond. I emailed the company, within TEN MINUTES they respond with the balance of each card. ($25 on each). I sent this info to CardPool. No response.   

12/19 I get an email that looks like an auto response saying the "processing center encountered an issue". But they can't tell me what the issue is.  

I filed a complaint with the BBB. I have not received the cards back or my payment of $52.47 as of 12/27. 

This company is an absolute fraud. They have stolen my cards, lied about the inability to verify funds & then claimed there were 'other' reasons they couldn't accept my cards, but won't tell me why or give them back. They say they have a "4 star" rating with "20,300+ reviews". This is the source these ratings, trustpilot.com, as noted at the bottom of cardpool.com. TrustPilot's ACTUAL review count is 20,300+ but its a TWO AND A HALF STAR RATING, not FOUR!

1/10 No cards back or my payment of $52.47. Filed a report with the Attorney General of TX. Cardpool has deleted/removed all negative comments from their Facebook page. Shady, shady.

1/27 No cards back or my payment of $52.47. I had an interested buyer for $50, but they wanted the physical cards (I have photos of the cards & email confirmation that cards are still valid) - but I don't have them because Card Pool won't send them back. So I lost that sale.

2/17 On 1/26 I got an email from one of the sites I left a review on, stating: "You have 3.0K views and counting!" I forwarded this email CardPool. They didn't respond. Within a day or 2 I emailed the store I had the cards with to check the balance (I've done this several times since they were stolen by CardPool, just to see if they had used them.) They were still valid. The Customer Service people from this store are so quick to respond & friendly, I explained that my cards were stolen & asked if they could cancel/re-issue them. To my surprise, they said yes & mailed them to me the next day! Within the same week of emailing the review email to CardPool, My original cards appeared in my mailbox! The cards they claimed were mailed back in early December & were unable to verify. The envelope I sent them in with the paperwork - was unopened & marked "return to sender". How could they of verified the cards without even opening the envelope? They never even attempted to verify the cards. What made them finally send the back? Knowing that I wasn't going to just give up? The fact I was reaching 1,000's of people of about their fraudulent ways? Figured out they couldn't steal the money off my cards (they were only good in stores and this store is not located in or near Texas. Who knows. On 2/14 I sold my newly issued cards on eBay for a little bit more than what CardPool offered. Its finally over!  

Do not send your cards to Cardpool, if its to late - keep on them. I reported them to BBB, wrote to the TX attorney General and left reviews on several sites (including Sitejabber & Trust Pilot).  I updated my reviews as the weeks went on. I hope they have saved others from dealing with these crooks.

Unacceptable Customer Service

"I have made three attempts to get Cardpool to replace my See's egift card over a period of approximately three weeks. I provided them with the order number, date and amount of transaction, email address and physical address. At this point, it is obvious they are just stonewalling me. This is a shame because they used to be an honest, ethical and trustworthy company that you could count on, but sadly, this is no longer the case. I am sorry I had to publish this review, but Cardpool had both the time and opportunity to do the right thing, and chose not to...

SCAM!!

"SCAM!!! Do not use this company!!! Sold my gift card, but never received my Amazon gift card. Have sent multiple emails, called numerous times. Don't even waste your time calling, they put you on hold and then after 10 minutes state that no one is available and to call back. Even tried typing in my phone number for them to call back. They call back, but it only rings once and then disconnects.

Scam artists

"I sold them my gift cards in exchange for and Amazon card. It has been over 1 month and I have not received payment. I have contacted 14 times.
I sold them several gift cards on November 27th 2019. I was given to expect that payment would be received within 3 business days. It has now been over 1 month. I have called and emailed over 14 times. Emails were met with auto responses saying someone would get back to me. They did not. Calls and several voicemails were largely ignored. 2 times someone did pick up the phone and stated that my issue would be "escalated." No one followed up with me after those calls. I believe that this company has stolen the money on the gift cards I sold them and are evading me.

"Well, just like you I read all the complaints and still proceeded with "donating" my gift to cardpool. Yes, you read it right it, at this point, I feel like it was a donation. They have breached their service agreement and even with customer support tickets submitted, there is literally no response except for the automated blah blah response.

Cardpool does not provide customer service

"OK, so I have to say that I am very sad to write this review. I have had cardpool for many years and have spent thousands of dollars with them. However, about a month ago when I tried to log into my account, it told me that I already have three devices and I need to log out of one of them in order to login. So, I wrote an email to cardpool customer service and explained the situation that I no longer have those other devices because they are previous cell phones and so I’m unable to log out of the accounts on those devices. I have written them now five times and left several voicemails because I need assistance in getting this taken care of. I have even bought more gift cards and not been able to use them which means that I am being denied access to things I paid money for. I keep getting the same auto generated email saying that they will get to my email eventually please wait for a response and no one has given me a response.
At this point I no longer wish to be a customer of Cardpool . I have recommended it to many friends and I used it quite often for quite a long time. I had nothing bad to say about them. However, the fact that their customer service is absolutely awful is completely unacceptable.
I would like access to my gift cards so that I may use them and then no longer purchase any more from them. But, since no one will write me back or help me with this issue I cannot access my gift cards. Needless to say I am very unhappy with cardpool. I would honestly say people should steer clear of this company and not use their services for the pure fact that if you have any issues you will not receive assistance.
