"I purchased a Hamilton Khaki Field Watch from Certified Watch Store, partly because of their warranty, which states that they "honor the original factory warranty's terms and conditions for the time duration list below", which for a Hamilton watch was two years. Hamilton's factory warranty terms are to replace the watch if there is any defect in the watch within the first two years. One of the listed features on the watch is that it is water resistant to 100 meters. The first time I dove with the watch underwater to about 30 meters, it filled with moisture, and the crown was ruined to the point that it slid off of the watch. When I sent in the watch to Certified Watch Store for warranty service, they kept it for a few weeks, and then sent it back to me still full of moisture, and with the crown sliding off. No explanation, just a useless watch that I bought from them for over $400 a few months prior. Speaking to Certified Watch Store on the phone is maddening, as they rudely point out that their warranty never would actually replace a watch, only repair, and they don't warrant use underwater, and it must have been my fault anyway. To their defense, it's important to point out that if you keep scrolling way down page two of their warranty description, ignoring the top part where they say they "honor the original factory warranty's terms and conditions", they eventually do describe that they don't warrant water damage, and they never say they will replace a watch, only repair it. So the condescending phone support people are right - the small print at the bottom completely contradicts what the warranty says up top. Certified Watch Store has great prices on quality watches - just pray that you never need support from them."
"I receive the watch and the watch is defective,the warranty card and information as well as the tags for the watch were missing, I contacted the seller and I told them about the problem and that I wish to have a replacement with a working watch and this is the response I got treating me like I have no idea how an automatic watch works. they expect me to pay shipping to send it back and have it replaced. that is no expectable. "Bought a watch from them on Black Friday, they charged my card, watch was never delivered. I followed up twice, got two different stories, first was the was would be delivered that night I called, never came. I called a few days later, another gentlemen said it would be out for delivery two days from that because they didn't have in stock, that they special ordered it for me. The next day, I get an email saying my order was canceled. I called the company again, they said they canceled it because they don't have it in stock and may have it in two weeks and I can place my order then. I told johnathan who works there (who's been "helping" me out), when I click "reorder" the watch comes to more than $120 more than when I orginally put in my order. He said he put a note in the computer and they would "help me on the price." I said what does that mean? he gave me that answer 3 more times, I said he wasn't asnwering my question. Johnathan said that they can't guarantee it because they get he watches from different distributors and won't know how much they can sell it for, but he can give me $10 off the originally price. These guys kept giving me the run around and canceled my order without asking or notifying me is just unprofessional. This shouldnt be illegal to some extent especially now a days. I gave them all my personal info and credit card information and I have nothing to show for it. I understand things happen, so why didn't they just notify me and keep my order until they get the watch in stock two weeks from now? What a scam, I'm notifying my creditors, the company of the watch I was going to get (who happens to be two blocks from me), and the better business bureau. There stories I kept getting were inconsistent and they were just very short with me. Johnathan kept blaming everything on "glitches" in their system. And he kept saying the glitches were caused by one thing then another thing. Just inconsistent. Then later he said there system "crashed." When I called him out on his inconsistencies with his excuses he said "you know what I mean, it's all the same thing." I'm making sure my experience is heard and known by the people on the Internet and all the companies I mentioned before. I don't want anyone to be a victim of a potential privacy breech and future credit card fraud
Addendum. Received a phone call and email after writing this review saying they now have the watch in stock. Talked to Jay. He said they would sell me the watch at the original price if I updated my review. He also told me to change my review to four stars. They did upgrade the shipping to 3 days. I decided to try it out again, so we'll see. I got an email from them a few hours later saying my item has shipped, but when I check track the package through ups, all it says is a label has been made and is awaiting for ups to pick up the package from them. I'll keep you guys in review land posted with what ends up happening.
Addenum:
This is after the fact they said they repsonded to this review "to my satisfaction." I have yet to receive the watch. Tracking does say it is being delivered on Friday. Once again. I'll update this once and if I receive the watch"

Customer service incompetent and rude : 4 weeks to be heard after a debit error and forced to threaten the CEO of a lawsuit to be refunded, after finding his e-mail address by myself.
And the apotheosis, the watch finally arrived broken: $325 of repairs to a french watchmaker for it works, not being able to return it to NYC.

"I ordered the watch online with the assumption that the item was in stock as it indicated. I was promised a confirmation within 2 days that never came. I followed up with a phone call. The first call I made they promised everything was ok and they would be sending out the watch soon and I should expect a confirmation within another day or two day. Another 2 days go by and nothing. I follow up again and they tell me they can not find my order but they will research it and promise to either call me back later that day or email me. After neither of these happened I followed up again and they told me they did not have the watch in stock and it would be at least 2 weeks before they could get it, and that was a maybe. This was a christmas present for my son. I cancelled the order. From the very beginning I had doubts about this company and that is why I followed up with the phone calls. My suspicions were correct and they make promises they have no intentions of keeping."
"I ordered Citizen EW1474-57E Eco-Drive Elektra Ladies Watch on April 15, 2010. Waited for the whole month though the site is mentioned it takes 7-10 business days of shipping time. I called several times to customer service but this item was heavily back ordered. Customer service was OK but more than 1 month of waiting time period? Finally I cancelled my order."
"I will NEVER order from here again, even cancelled the first and only order. They called and told my mother what her Christmas present was!! They called my phone to verify my card, which was nice, but called from a restricted number, and left NO MESSAGE. So, instead of calling me back, or leaving a name, or a number, they called my mother (the person I was shipping to) and told her what I had ordered, so apparently there is no confidentiality on this site either. Then when I called CSR told me 'no way that happened', that upset me, so when I tried to talk to the manager, he picks up the phone in time for me to hear his CSR talking about how I 'just flipped out'. The manager really didn't care. So, if you DONT care about polite customer service or confidentiality about your info, shop here, if you DO care about customer service and confidentiality try Ewatches, I have bought 7 watches from them and it has always been a wonderful experience. Wish I could leave the Certified Watch Store NO STARS!!!

"purchased a $500 dollar watch from certified watch store on amazon. watch stopped working within 1st year and during return and warranty period. watch has been returned back to me non functional twice and they took 3 months to do that. my watch still does not work and now they claim we are out of warranty. spoke with a individual bobby who is non helpful at all. suggested i go fix on my own dime as the warranty has expired, however all my fed ex receipts and documentation prove otherwise that they had my watch way before the warranty expired. watch out for these thieves. no assistance at all now have on open investigation with amazon to get this resolved. all i wanted was my watch working"

I ordered a watch for Christmas with plenty of time for delivery and kept my eye on the status of it each day. Paypal retrieved the full amount of the watch from my bank account in less than 48 hours and the order was confirmed. Two days after that my status said that my watch was prepared for DELIVERY. Then two days later after I requested a tracking number I recieved an email that "the item was back ordered, out of stock, and wouldn't be available until after Christmas."
Nothing like a bogus status confirmation and false promises. I have since purchased the watch elsewhere and have had a much better experience. $100 off retail price is not worth the headache, especially if you never get what you order! "

"I HAVE TWINS GIRLS THAT I PURCHASED 2 WATCHES FOR THEIR BIRTHDAYS. WATCHES SHOWED IN STOCK AND I REQUESTED EXPRESS DELIVERY SO THEY WOULD ARRIVE IN TIME FOR THEIR BIRTHDAYS. I STARTTED RECEIVING EMAILS AFTER THE WATCHES SHOULD ARRIVED ALREADY THAT ONLY ONE WATCH WAS IN STOCK AND THEY WERE SPECIAL ORDERING THE OTHER AND IT WOULD TKE 7-10 DAYS. I TRIED SWITCHING THAT WATCH WITH ANOTHER. THEY WOULDNT LET ME DO THAT THROUGH THE SAME EMAILS THEY WERE SENDING ME. WHEN I TRIED TO CALL AFTER HOLDING FOR 20 MINUTES AND NOONE PICKING UP I HUNG UP. WATCHES THAT SHOWED IN STOCK WERENT, THEN AFTER WAITING FOR THAT ONE WATCH TO COME INTO STOCK I WAS NOW TOLD ITS DISCONTINUED. I AGAIN CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE AND AFTER HALF HOUR OF HOLDING NOONE EVER PICKED UP. EMAILED COMPANY TO CANCEL MY ORDER AND NOONE RESPONDED TO THIS EMAIL VERIFYING THEY RECEIVED IT AND YES ORDER IS CANCELLED OR THAT MY CARD WASNT CHARGED. THEY HAD NO PROBLEM EXCEPTING MY ORDER AND RESPONDING QUICKLY BUT AFTER MULTIPLE EMAILS OF HOW ONE OF THE 2 WATCHES WAS NOT AVAILABLE AND THEY COULD ONLY SEND ONE THEY DID NOTHING TO HELP SUBSTITUTE THE OTHER OR ACKNOWLEDGE MY CANCELLATION. I AM WAITING TO GET MY CREDIT CARD STATEMENT TO SEE IF MY CARD WAS CHARGED AND IF IT WAS I WILL HAVE TO TAKE IT UP WITH MY CREDIT CARD COMPANY. THIS COMPANY WAS AWFUL TO DEAL WITH."
